excluding those that wish for my death in the ugliest manner possible. You can all stay under that moss covered rock that serves as home. May a thousand angry squids pound upon your head.
For all the rest of my loyal readers and blogger buddies extraordinaire, I wish you a safe and fun New Year's Eve. Each of you has brightened my life and inspired me to keep up the good fight for freedom. May we all succeed beyond our wildest dreams in running the Marxists and Communists back into whatever hidey-hole they slithered from...
I'm headed out to a wonderful birthday lunch and perhaps a bookstore or two. See you next year...

I feel sorry for Ezra Klein...
sort of.
Honestly - this guy says something so incredibly stupid that I doubt he will ever escape the derision being heaped on his head. Not having cable TV, I barely know who some of these people are and wonder what in the world they have done to deserve all the air time they get.
From the Blast: Ezra Klein: the Constitution is Impossible to Understand Because its Over 100 Years Old
H/T Memeorandum
But the winner for the Ezra take down goes to Doug Ross with this scathing piece - and we thank him!
From Doug Ross: No one's buying your pathetic excuses, Ezra Klein: progressives are the enemy of the Constitution as surely as night follows day.

Washington Post journolist Ezra Klein laid several eggs during a gaffe-filled interview on MSNBC earlier today.
Because the cable channel's ratings now trail reruns of Gilligan's Island and hospital sonograms, no one would have known except for the heroes over at NewsBusters.
They took the bullet for the rest of us and transcribed his statements regarding the new House requirement to read the Constitution at the start of the session. Among his remarks were these timeless gems: read the rest

Our New Snow Joe is a Keeper...
Finally got to use my new electric Snow Joe. It's a winner! Plowed right through almost 10" of fairly wet snow like it was angel fluff. It was bit like vacuuming the deck and sidewalks. It even did a fair amount of our driveway where the snow was even deeper. It's the perfect size for a lady...
Oh my gosh! It's morning and I haven't been to bed yet...
one of those sleepless nights. Sigh...
However, it puts me in the position to be the first to share this stupendous post from our very own Fuzzy Slippers (who claims to have Fuzzy Logic, but is really pretty darn sharp for a whippersnapper.)

Dear World: Obama Does Not Represent America
Dear World,
I'm writing to you because it's come to my attention that the current administration is creating false impressions of America, and I thought that you should know that this president is not at all representative of the majority of the American people and that with few exceptions everything this president has done will be revised and/or completely overturned/repealed. This will come as very good news to America's friends and allies, many of whom are quite alarmed by the bizarre choices and decisions America seems to be making right now. read the rest

The "Catholycs" Beat the Drum for Ecopsychology...
what the hell is that, you ask? Good question. LarryD, at Acts of The Apostasy, has taken time to explain this - and we thank him.
To think that this drivel is originating from a publication that calls itself "Catholic" is mind-numbing. The biggest problem is the existence of several generations of un-churched Catholics. These are people who don't have the smallest inkling regarding real Catholic teachings, and have no concept of what a "well-formed conscience" really means.

Nuts. Plain nuts. Nothing logical at all about their ecological ideology.

Our President Honors Michael Vick...
From Huff and Puff:
Barack Obama Praises Eagles For Giving Michael Vick A 2nd Chance
And why? Because he is so "talented?" Are you telling me that in a country with a population of over 300 million people there is no one else with the "talent" of Michael Vick?"
From: LA Examiner published at the time of Vick's release from prison:
This is what Michael Vick engaged in: warning: graphic and horrifying images
This is Gypsy, a dog used as bait. Read her story here
Michael Vick allowed pet dogs, cats, and rabbits to be used as bait. This is a dead dog with his muzzle taped up with duct tape that was used as bait.
And when the dogs couldn't fight Vick helped wet them down and electrocuted them. Others were strangled, drowned, or hung until dead. And our president is happy this person is getting a second chance? Of course, this is the same man who thinks a baby born alive after a botched abortion should be left to die, alone and in pain, in a janitors closet. How could we possibly expect more?

Barack Obama Praises Eagles For Giving Michael Vick A 2nd Chance
Peter King of NBC reported on Sunday that President Barack Obama recently called Jeffrey Lurie, the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, to praise the organization for giving quarterback Michael Vick a second chance.
According to ProFootballTalk, Obama told Lurie that "a level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences."King also tweeted that Obama "said too many prisoners never get fair 2d chance."
The president of the United States has time to applaud the decision to give Vick a second chance? This person should never have been allowed to pick up a football and continue his life as though his offense was nothing more than running a red light. The Eagles signed Vick after he spent 18 months in prison and two months of home confinement for being convicted of running a dogfighting operation. read the rest
And why? Because he is so "talented?" Are you telling me that in a country with a population of over 300 million people there is no one else with the "talent" of Michael Vick?"
From: LA Examiner published at the time of Vick's release from prison:
Some commentators have argued that Vick should be allowed to play because he “made a mistake” and has now “paid his debt.” Perhaps these people are under the mistaken impression that all Michael Vick did was fight some Pit Bulls. But dog fighting, as cruel a crime as it is, is the least of what Michael Vick did.
According to the prosecutor's statement of facts in the case, between 2002 and 2007 Michael Vick and his co-conspirators Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor killed thirteen dogs by various methods including wetting one dog down and electrocuting her, hanging, drowning and shooting others and, in at least one case, by slamming a dog’s body to the ground.
Michael Vick didn't make a mistake. He didn't "make a bad choice." Over a period of five years he forced dogs into deadly fights, and he personally killed, or conspired to kill, thirteen dogs. He didn't pick a quick, painless method of killing, but instead chose a variety of means that qualify as torture. Pit Bulls are powerful dogs. Imagine how hard you would have to work to kill a Pit Bull by forcibly drowning him.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reports, "Sometimes [the dogs] were starved to make them more vicious in the pit."
And Michael Vick didn’t confine the abuse and killing to his own Pit Bulls.
According to a November 2008 ESPN.com news story, a report prepared by the USDA's inspector general-investigations division revealed that Vick, Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor also put family pet dogs into the ring with trained pit bulls.
The report, dated Aug. 28, 2008, says, "Vick, Peace and Phillips thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to [Vick’s] Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs."

Ugly Lefty Trolls and other wonders of the world...
Yesterday, someone using my blog name and linking to my blog left a bizarre comment on Creative Minority Report, a site I hold in high esteem. Matthew and Patrick Archbold, also contributors to National Catholic Register, have removed all of the comments from the post - and I thank them. I have very strong suspicions about who did this in order to clearly embarrass and discredit me.
The comments were pulled shortly after my having discovered what had occurred, so I was only able to skim the comments and was unable to leave a comment myself. What surprised me was the vehemence and ugliness with which others attacked me - even though it wasn't really me.
It has long been my practice to not leave negative comments on other people's blogs, in particular those attacking someone else for comments they've left. In my opinion, it's a pointless waste of time. Blog posters have a right to their opinions, and those who leave comments have a right to voice opposition or agreement. In my case, if I don't agree with an article, I prefer to just move on.
The only exception I make to this rule is when someone gratuitously attacks a blogger. Without fail, it is almost always a commenter cowardly hiding behind the ubiquitous "anonymous." Frequently, I take time to defend such bloggers against ad hominem and ugly attacks.
All that being said, allow me to say to the folks who so violently attacked who they thought was "me" , you might think twice before ripping into someone. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your Christmas season.

I'm flabbergasted! Jarrett: Obama to spend more time outside of Washington in 2011 ???
How could he possibly spend more time outside of Washington then he already does?
From the article at the Hill (emphasis mine)
Did you get that first part about the vacation Jarrett, or were you too busy counting your slum rent money courtesy of the corrupt Chicago machine? Let me help - HE'S ON ANOTHER VACATION! A very expensive vacation that's costing the taxpayers a ton of money, inconveniencing the citizens of Hawaii, and making sure many more Secret Service agents and other staff miss spending Christmas with their families than is necessary."He said right before he left for vacation was, 'When I get back, I really want to figure out a way where I can spend more time outside of Washington listening, learning and engaging with the American people,'" she added. "We're determined in the new year to make sure that his schedule reflects his priority."
His only priority is to spend taxpayer money to run around and campaign and avoid the actual work of the presidency. I could have sworn his priority was to improve the joblessness in this country. No?

| Shrinking Man adorned with seaweed |
I wandered over to view the Christmas message from the White House brought to you by the two usurpers to the throne (I find it difficult to mention those two people by name.)
Do watch the Angry One (who looks and acts like she may have been hitting the eggnog a bit heavily) and her incredibly shrinking husband lecture us on how we are to not only sacrifice, but also on all the things we should do to support our troops.
Remind me again where they are? Oh right - they're in Hawaii at a gazillion dollar a week mansion showing us "small people" what sacrifice is really all about. Do they really think we're that stupid? Silly question! Of course they do...
Be sure and watch the grifters in all their glory. The Angry One with her drooping "I'm trying to look really sexy" side-swept fake hair getting tangled in her fake fur eyelashes, inch thick lip gloss, bare arms hanging out, and ill fitting dress scrunched up around her midsection. Witness the Angry One's husband, who made the mistake of not including Bo in his "holiday" message of good will, defer to the Angry One. Wake me when this nightmare is over.
In the interest of not running up the White House hit counter, I brought the vid to you (putting me squarely on the White House hit list for crazy right wing-bitter-clinger terrorists. Nothing is too good for my readers.
Picture thanks to the hard working MOTUS. H/T to Newsbird (Birdie to her friends) for the heads up on the White House weekly message.
Christmas in North Idaho...
This is what it's all about.
Our very favorite local restaurant (which serves Palin approved elk steaks and burgers in addition to regular fare and home to a most awesome Sunday Brunch costing only $7.00) showed the true spirit of Christmas this year. G.W. Hunters served up hundreds of meals and handed out gifts to anyone in need - and we thank them.

Many businesses close on Christmas as employees and customers spend time at home with their families. But one Post Falls restaurant stayed open and invited everyone to come celebrate the holiday.

Months ago, thanks to folks like republican Mother, I embarked on a closer look at Monsanto and Senate Bill 510, the so-called Food Safety and Modernization Act, which has nothing to do with food safety and every thing to do with control. There are some important videos to watch here.

Naancy Pelosi and the rest of the democrats are more than slightly insane...
I'm ruining what is left of my evening listening to the tax bill debates on C-Span. Over and over the democrats keep talking about the wonderful tax "cuts." This is not a tax "cut." It's keeping the tax rate the same for everyone. How many times does that have to be said?
Nancy Pelosi is rattling away as I type and is saying "we are giving money to rich people." No, Nance - we're allowing the highest earners to keep money that they have earned. She's talking about how many wonderful ways we can spend this money that they want to extort from the evil rich. Is that not why we're suffering the fiscal diaster this country has become? We have a spending problem - not a taxing problem.
But, not to worry. Nancy told us at least 5 times that the extension of the unemployment insurance payments is the greatest stimulus evah to the economy. But wait! It does even more. It creates jobs! Huh?
Oh sheesh - now Schakowsky D-IL is bashing rich families by name and insulting Tea Party people. Ooooops - here's Bwany! And he's talking about dishonesty. This thing is surreal. Wait for it - he's blaming Bush.
Contrary to what these loons are saying, we don't have to borrow money from China if they can't extort more taxes from "rich" people. How about CUTTING SPENDING. Ooooops - sorry for shouting. Honestly, you need to go to C-Span and listen to this drivel...

APOCALYPSE NOW? No . . . but Soon Enough
There is little doubt that we are headed for some very disturbing times in this country, and those who do not prepare are going to be in for some big surprises. Some sit back and watch the riots in Greece, Italy, and Great Britain and think, "That would never happen here." Those people need to think again. It can, and most likely, will happen. The real danger is it won't be the conservative Tea Party types that will rampage. When was the last time you saw a right-wing group threaten the safety of other citizens and wantonly destroy the property of others?
We have an administration that is willing to ignore the will of the majority while pursuing their objectives, which are clearly not in the best interests of the country. The reasons for this have been discussed ad nauseum. The time for discussion is over, and the time for people to do what is in their best interests is upon us.

Janet Napolitano invades WalMart
And how much is this nonsense costing?
More than 230 Walmart stores nationwide launched the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign today, with a total of 588 Walmart stores in 27 states joining in the coming weeks. A short video message, available here, will play at select checkout locations to remind shoppers to contact local law enforcement to report suspicious activity.

“Homeland security starts with hometown security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our country and communities safe,” said Secretary Napolitano. “I applaud Walmart for joining the ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign. This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities.” H/T Drudge
How could you possibly tell if there was something "suspicious" at a WalMart?

A Coordinated Sustained Siege on Washington
I am not a big fan of protests. People marching around with signs for a few hours is too easily ignored by the people who consider themselves the "elite." However, a sustained long-term effort will make a huge difference. There is much more I want to say, but I've injured my neck and the resulting headache is blinding. Be back later...
"A group of us taking the name of 'Guardians of Liberty' will lead the charge and ask any and all who will follow to help us do the hard work of the republic. We are packing up right now, making a space for ourselves at the capitol, preparing the way for you to join us. The Guardians will be there, we are making the sacrifices, but we need you, your groups, your voice, your cooperation and most of all your presence on January 21, 2011 to send the strongest possible message. Then the siege begins. We are not proposing a rally or a protest we are designing a full-on siege of DC until our will is done. But, it is not the few of us that will make the difference, it is the people who stand with us and recognize their role as Guardians themselves." T.L. Davis, novelist and activist.
On January 21, 2011 the FIGHT BEGINS!
On January 21, 2011, the Guardians of Liberty will lay siege to federal offices in DC and all over the country. These peaceful sieges will remain in effect until:

Let me be clear:
- The government doesn't have a taxing problem, it has a spending problem.
- The democrats are not proposing a "tax cut."
- Close to 40% of the populace pays no federal taxes.

Homosexuality is no longer a societal taboo.
Nearly everywhere I look anymore someone is trumpeting the homosexual agenda, whether it be a moronic reporter, a military general testifying before Congress, an entertainment "artist", or a subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) magazine ad.
In a world where economic collapse of our nation is imminent, Islamic terrorism continues to be a real threat, and international relations and alliances are in a continual phase of conflict and change due to the aforementioned factors, homosexuality shouldn't even be an issue. read the rest
Let's raise taxes on the evil rich and all our problems will be solved, my mortgage will be paid, and I'll probably get a new car - or something...
Somewhere in our welfare soaked society the idea that "it's the rich people's fault that poor people are poor" took hold like a pit bull on a rabbit (ugly image, but sometimes life is ugly). Indeed, some people even believe that all our economic woes can be placed at the feet of Bush who dared to cut taxes a few percentage points for top wage earners.
These people actually believe by raising taxes on the so-called "rich", somehow their coffers will be filled with more money. Never mind that over 40% of folks don't owe any taxes each year, and the bulk of the taxes paid already come from the "wealthy."
I've got news for these purveyors of class warfare. Poor people don't give you jobs. If you take away someone's yacht it does not automatically follow that you will obtain a yacht. Read the illiterate comments at places like Huff and Puff and you will see a recurring theme of hatred toward anyone who they perceive as having more than they do. Do they really think by raising taxes on the "rich" that their lives will be improved? Sorry, you'll still be living in your parents' basement, your credit card will still be maxed out, and you'll still be making car payments on a car that's worth less than what you owe because you run your pitiful lives about as well as the federal government runs the country.
You want to fix the budget (or lack of one, in this case) in DC? Quit spending money we don't have for nonsensical spending boondoggles like the recently passed Child Nutrition Act. Billions of dollars for what!? Seeing to it that schools don't have bake sales and sticking 5000 filthy germ laden salad bars in schools?
I don't care that John Kerry has a gazillion homes or a yacht. His having these things does nothing to diminish what I have. In the end no one is going to be stuffing all this crap in a casket to accompany them to wherever they are heading for that last journey.

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend - intellectually empty "Catholic"
The Washington Post published a predictably boring and contradictory defense of John F. Kennedy and a slam against Sarah Palin by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend "Sarah Palin is wrong about John F. Kennedy, religion and politics."
Ms. Townsend kicks off her article with:
Later in the article, Ms. Townsend makes this statement regarding Teddy Kennedy's stand on abortion and a woman's "right to choose."
She would like the Church to focus on "social justice" and ignore the legitimate and authentic teachings of the Church - teachings that have never wavered for 2000 years. If the Church actually did that very thing, there wouldn't be a Church, which I suppose would make life simpler for Ms. Townsend and those that share her views.
Later she says:
She attacks Palin for criticizing Nancy Pelosi:
Ms. Townsend spends the first half of her article claiming that JFK kept his Catholic faith separate from his politics and then states:
Discussion at Memeorandum
Ms. Townsend kicks off her article with:
"In her new book, "America by Heart," Palin objects to my uncle's famous 1960 speech to the Greater Houston Ministerial Association, in which he challenged the ministers - and the country - to judge him, a Catholic presidential candidate, by his views rather than his faith. "Contrary to common newspaper usage, I am not the Catholic candidate for president," Kennedy said. "I am the Democratic Party's candidate for president who happens also to be a Catholic."
Palin has really done nothing more than point up the fact that Kennedy chose to diminish his Catholic faith in order to get elected. I can't recall any other election in my lifetime where a candidates religious affiliation was such an issue. People were actually worried that if Kennedy was elected the Pope was going to be running the country."Palin writes that when she was growing up, she was taught that Kennedy's speech had "succeeded in the best possible way: It reconciled public service and religion without compromising either." Now, however, she says she has revisited the speech and changed her mind. She finds it "defensive . . . in tone and content" and is upset that Kennedy, rather than presenting a reconciliation of his private faith and his public role, had instead offered an "unequivocal divorce of the two."
Later in the article, Ms. Townsend makes this statement regarding Teddy Kennedy's stand on abortion and a woman's "right to choose."
I want to make sure I'm reading that correctly. Ms. Townsend thinks the the hierarchy of the Church is suddenly going to see the light and condone abortion? Obviously she has never heard of the deposit of faith and thinks the doctrines of the Church were cooked up in some smoky back room by a bunch of misogynous old men. The fact is, Ms Townsend, the doctrines of the Church haven't changed since Jesus founded His Church."Teddy Kennedy believed that his stands were at one with his faith. He did disagree with the Roman Catholic hierarchy at times. But as we have seen, the hierarchy's positions can change, and in our church, we have an obligation to help bring about those changes."
No, Ms. Townsend, Palin didn't "presume to judge that he took positions directly at odds with his Catholic faith." It is public record that he most certainly took positions directly against the authentic teachings of the Church."And my uncle Teddy fought for health care for all Americans, even if in her book Palin presumes to judge that he took positions "directly at odds with his Catholic faith."
She attacks Palin for criticizing Nancy Pelosi:
"For instance, she criticizes Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), a Democrat and a faithful Catholic, for "talking the (God) talk but not walking the walk."
Once again we have that pesky little problem of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Palin's beliefs and actions are more in accord with these teachings then Ms. Pelosi, who refers to herself as an "ardent Catholic" while supporting abortion and same-sex "marriage." Those are not the actions of what would be called a faithful Catholic, Ms. Townsend. Those are actions of someone who could at best be called a "cafeteria" Catholic and at worst a heretic.Who is Palin to say what God's "walk" is? Who anointed her our grand inquisitor?"
Ms. Townsend spends the first half of her article claiming that JFK kept his Catholic faith separate from his politics and then states:
"Faith runs as a deep current through my family. Faith inspired my uncles' and my father's dedication to justice."
Which is it, Ms. Townsend? Was JFK a schizophrenic who parked his faith at the door to the oval office, or was he "inspired by his faith?""America's first and only Catholic president referred to God three times in his inaugural address and invoked the Bible's command to care for poor and the sick. Later in his presidency, he said, unequivocally, about civil rights: "We are confronted primarily with a moral issue. It is as old as the Scriptures and is as clear as the American Constitution."

A child nutrition bill on its way to President Barack Obama — and championed by the first lady — gives the government power to limit school bake sales and other fundraisers that health advocates say sometimes replace wholesome meals in the lunchroom.
[...]"This could be a real train wreck for school districts," Lucy Gettman of the National School Boards Association said Friday, a day after the House cleared the bill. "The federal government should not be in the business of regulating this kind of activity at the local level."

Dems trying to push through $4.5 Billion School Lunch Bill
Michelle Obama's pet project of changing the menus in schools is supposed to cost $4.5 BILLION dollars. Why?? To accomplish this seemly arduous task, they plan on cutting the food stamp program. Does that make even the tiniest bit of sense?
Pelosi called passing the bill the “right, moral thing for us to do.” Really? I didn't know that giving little kids access to salad bars (today's children won't eat salads), is a moral issue. A better moral issue would be teaching kids that homosexuality is an intrinsically immoral way of living, not just a "different lifestyle." Or slaughtering a child in the womb is just a "choice" instead of modern day genocide. Pelosi's morals, evidenced by her own words in defiance of Catholic Church teachings, are in serious doubt.
The people of this country are so used to schools having cafeterias and handing out free lunches, starting with the concept that children need a "hot" meal, they can no longer see the underlying issue. Why exactly do we have lavish kitchens and cafeterias in schools to begin with?
Here's a really common sense solution. Rip out the kitchens and replace it with classrooms or another gym. The children can bring a PB & J or a tuna sandwich and an apple from home in a little brown paper bag. And when they're finished eating, the "monitors for the week" can sweep the floors and wipe down the tables. Local dollars can be budgeted to keep a few extras in the break room for those that show up without lunch. If certain children continue to show up without lunch, it would be indicative of further investigation as to why.
A family receiving food-stamps should be able to provide a simple lunch for their children. Failure to do this points to the possibility of some other problem in the household. Mom spending all the money on drugs? Dad drinking up the food budget? This is not an onerous solution. There was a time in this country's history when children bringing their own lunches was routine. It was simple and cost effective.
Every single day we wake up to another massive spending bill put forth by the democrats. Where is this money coming from? Instead of being worried about the BMI (a very dubious measurement of obesity) of our nations children, perhaps Michelle should try being concerned about the obesity of our federal government.
