It's "recovery" Friday
Is anyone surprised by the "unexpected" drop of the GDP to 1.6%? Not to worry. Bernanke has promised to take action if economy falters. Honest to gosh - that's what the headline says. If the economy falters!

Ken Mehlman Speaks Out - and I wish he hadn't...
Since the story on Memeorandum that is getting all the attention is Bush Campaign Chief and Former RNC Chair Ken Mehlman: I'm Gay , I suppose it is required of me to say something/anything.
Let's keep this short because I have a lot of outside work to do which is infinitely more important. The real point of Mr. Mehlman's announcement is we have become a society that thinks discussing ones sex life is news. And we all line up like little lemmings with this agenda of tacky and crude behavior. While I'm not advocating a return to the repressive atmosphere of the Victorian Age, we would do to remember that we are children of God who have been made in His image. This prurient interest in where other people are placing their sex organs is bizarre.
Bottom line? The homosexuals need to go back in the closet and the heterosexuals need to join them.

Spot on. Even if our political landscape changes in November in the House, the Senate and the White House will be effectively untouched, at least for 2 year. This will likely lead to gridlock, and the economic and social tsunamis will roll on unimpeded, if not worsened. Where do we look? How do we deal with this? We must look to ourselves first, not to Washington. Prepare yourself, your family, and spread the message of individual liberty and responsibility as much as possible. Practice your faith in everything, and understand where true "Rights" come from and how we are to cherish them. Know your history, defend your beliefs with evidence and conviction, and rebuke those who stand opposed with logic, civility, and honor. In the end, as with any great crisis, there will be those crushed by the weight of catastrophe and those that stand firm and are left to rebuild. We must be the ones left standing. We must not assume the role of victim, but instead of diligent and benevolent victor.

Blogoversary Alert...
Our very own Mind Numbed Robot is having a Blogoversary today. I heard he'll be getting his screws tightened at his party. Head over and give him some "happies."
And here's my little gift for his special day...
I couldn't let this article by Ed Morrissey at Hot Air go unchallenged... w/ Update
While Mr. Morrissey is correct that used car prices have risen as a result of the Cash for Clunkers program, there is one thing he says in his article "Used car prices skyrocket a year after Cash for Clunkers"
I can safely say from the standpoint of being a former car salesman that is just ridiculous and, well, a bit elitist sounding.
The following statement at the end of his article states (emphasis mine)
Ed's statement that only working-class people buy used cars is disingenuous and a bit smarmy. Before I sold cars for a living, I always bought new and made payments. Now I always buy used and pay cash. And I would hardly call my auto "transportation on a budget", even though the most I've ever paid for a car is 10K. When I see young families driving around in a 35K or above SUV, you can bet your bottom dollar they have a whopping big car payment. I don't call that smart at all.
Update:
From Gateway Pundit guest contributer Warner Todd Huston:
Cash For Clunkers Hurting Lower Class Car Buyers
Good grief! Now people that buy used cars are "lower class."
A lot of wisdom in this clip from the classic movie "Used Cars"
I can safely say from the standpoint of being a former car salesman that is just ridiculous and, well, a bit elitist sounding.
The following statement at the end of his article states (emphasis mine)
As predicted last year, the people most hurt by the price increases are those who can least afford them. The used-car market usually attracts people who need transportation on a budget, who cannot afford to buy new. By destroying a quarter’s worth of trade-ins in three weeks and permanently taking them off the market, the Obama administration has forced an artificial inflation by supply restriction. Moreover, they did so by subsidizing new-car sales that would have occurred anyway, eating up three billion dollars in taxpayer money.
Buying a new car, even if you can afford to do so, is not a very wise thing to do. Most people that are millionaires rarely buy a new car. Once that shiny new car goes "over the curb" from the lot, it has depreciated approximately 20%. The rate of depreciation slows down for the next few years, and starts to drop like a rock at about 5 years old. The smarter option is to buy a car that is perhaps one year old with low miles (30K or under), and trade it in after about 3 years. In other words, the White House spent $3 billion to make used cars more expensive for working-class families. Nice work.

I cringe every time I see the word "unexpectedly"
At least they left it out of the title, substituting "surprise" for "unexpectedly", when the reality is there is nothing either surprising or unexpected about the jobless rate. They did, however, manage to get the word "unexpectedly" into the first sentence of the article. Don't believe for one teeny moment that the jobless rate is 9.5%. There are millions of people who have just given up looking for a job.

Stacy McCain brings up an important point - and we thank him...
Ok - so after just posting about a snarky headline (which is still great), Stacy McCain brings up a very important point in his post News Flash: Politics Is About Elections.
There has never been any doubt in my mind that the person that can (in most cases) generate the most political snark and nonsense is going to have the highest hit counter. Stacy brings up the point that when he is generating the most important election news his hit counter actually goes down. I have noticed the same phenomena. Give his article a read and definitely give it some thought.
Neal McDonough
I became a fan of Neal McDonough when he was in the TV series Boomtown. I thought that show, at least during the first season when each story was told in a non linear fashion, with each character's view adding a new detail (thanks wikipedia), was brilliant. I remember watching the very first episode and telling my husband how oddly it was put together, but that he must watch the next episode with me. Mr. McDonough's acting was also outstanding and I quickly became a fan.
I had no idea he was Catholic until the original story of his refusing to do some steamy sex scenes in the series Scoundrels led to his being fired.
Today from Life Site News we have:
After Losing Major Role for Refusing Sex Scenes, Actor Neal McDonough Finds New Successes

Insights from the Com-box and Outrage of the Day
My previous post of the very well done video elicited these two stand out comments.
Emphasis is mine...
From Mark at Ordered Liberty:
Outrage of the Day
Guess what? I don't have one. Now doesn't that just about knock your socks off? I have a busy day ahead. It's my haircut and Costco day and I refuse to respond to the myriad of upsetting stories floating about today. Not even the one about the Weasel in the White House (no disrespect to weasels intended) causing one of the biggest traffic jams in L.A., evah. I had already read several grass-roots articles about this travesty before finding the above article at Memeorandum.
I will, however, suggest you read The Plantation Nation's latest post, Well, The Headlines Tell It All
and one from about a week ago, We Are Here: The Pale Blue Dot
While I don't always agree with Uncle Baruch (I mean really - should we ever agree with anyone except Jesus all the time?), I will have to give big kudos for making one think a bit harder about today's world.

From Mark at Ordered Liberty:
And from Bob at Oldbob44I'm reading a book about Ohio Senator Robert Taft's political philosophy right now. Written by Russell Kirk, the book details Taft's efforts to focus the Republican Party during the late 1930's through the 1940's. When it came to Taft's approach and the issues he was responding to, it's very relevant to the current crisis we are in. Same with a good deal of what Reagan talked about back in the day.
The struggles we are in right now aren't new -- they face us every generation. The Left is relentless and determined, and they are fighting the long-game. A defeat here and there doesn't bother them, so long as they steadily move the culture and the polity in the direction they want. So, we have to be prepared for the long-game as well, and keeping in mind the work of men like Taft, Goldwater & Reagan is invaluable in doing just that.
Chilling is a very good word. Reminds me of my university days 40+ years ago, standing on bus stops on winter nights in subzero cold. I don't have to do it anymore, but my hands and feet will never recover.
Once these people get their chill into the marrow of the bones of our liberties, the damage cannot be undone.

Another thing I'm against - Yuppies
When I still used to visit Minnesota, my brother was living in a certified Yuppie neighborhood. The women and men who lived there were greenie-weenies who deplored the destruction automobiles wrought on the environment. They made no connection to their own two or three trips to the local organic grocery store in order to throw the simplest of dinner parties. I'm sure they felt that by bringing their re-usable hemp grocery bags to the store more than made up for the over use of their personal vehicle.
Most of these people seemed incapable of doing anything of real value. Replacing a washer in a faucet was a mystery - never mind anything more complicated. Many of them delayed starting their families in order to advance whatever wimpy "career" they settled on, and had to resort to expensive fertility treatments or adopt a designer baby - preferably from an Asian country, so everyone would be sure and know how open, charitable, and tolerant they were, and then dress the aforementioned baby from the racks of Baby Gap.
I don't recall any of them actually attending a church. For them, being "spiritual" was way more important than being "religious." All those pesky rules and such were not for them. You could almost guarantee finding a Buddha sitting somewhere in their house, or books on Zen gracing their bookshelves. Christianity was just another of a myriad of ways to attain nirvana, or whatever, and was best left to the lower classes.
Whenever they gathered, discussions were usually about wine or the latest running of the Vagina Monologues at the local theater. The ladies, who generally eschewed makeup, had straight hair (trimmed every 4 weeks at the latest and most expensive hairdresser), and adorned their feet in Birkenstocks or little-girl flats. High heel pumps were for trailer trash, doncha know. The men had on their perfect little golf shirts and khaki's or cargo pants from The Gap.
They bemoaned the rotten capitalists who were ruining the world, but still managed a trip or two per day to Caribou Coffee for their soy-based latte. Shop at a thrift store? Why no - not when you have Macy's or any number of cute little boutiques in the Grand Ave. area of St. Paul.
Being a Yuppie is not limited to a certain age group. Being a Yuppie is a state of mind, or as I like to say, no mind at all. Most of them are liberals, meaning, as my husband says, "people who hadn't thought things through." If you were a conservative, a trip to the Twin Cities during an election cycle felt like entering enemy territory. They loved Obama. He was "historic", and being such forward thinking folks, they wanted to be a part of history being made.
If it was mentioned that I lived in Idaho, the blank stares directed my way were astonishing. Many were not even sure where the heck Idaho was - another kudo for their over-priced college education. I would have to assure them that we did indeed have running water and flush toilets. Hell, we even have Starbucks, but sadly, no White Castle.
I don't miss Minnesota. I left when I was 17 and spent my most important formative years in Houston, TX during the boom times. I made a quick stop back to Minnesota in my early thirties and couldn't get out fast enough. The Muslim Somalis are making great inroads in conquering Minnesota. They're welcome to it...
Victor Davis Hanson, in his latest National Review Online article, gives us a wonderful definition of a Yuppie:

There were too many times to count that I sat and listened to these people who were so out of touch with reality, and in most cases, educated way beyond their intelligence, that I formed a pretty substantial picture of who they were. Mr. Hanson does a remarkable job of putting into words who these people are. Take a moment and read his article: Obama: Fighting the Yuppie FactorYuppism, remember, is not definable entirely by income or class. Rather, it is a late-twentieth-century cultural phenomenon of self-absorbed young professionals, earning good pay, enjoying the cultural attractions of sophisticated urban life and thought, and generally out of touch with, indeed antithetical to, most of the challenges and concerns of a far less well-off and more parochial Middle America.

Why Small Businesses Are Not Hiring
From Mark at Ordered Liberty...
Why aren't small businesses hiring?
In case you missed it:One reason the unemployment rate is so high (the real unemployment rate is somewhere between 16% and 21%, if one counts people who have just given up trying to find work) is because small businesses (which drive the US economy) aren't hiring right now. Terry over at Abbey Roads has (by fiat) a meme going I can really get behind - Stuff I'm Against.
Let's start out with this one:
I'm against the constant insulting of the Baby Boomers. Technically I'm not a baby boomer because I was born 13 minutes to midnight Dec. 31, 1945. However, I call that close enough.
Now we're being castigated for not spending enough of our money.

Another Threat to Economy: Boomers Cutting Back
How dare us! Here's my take on the situation.
The early Boomers were the sons and daughters of the WWII generation. We were raised with morals and values. We were taught to work hard. Working two jobs was not unusual. We didn't buy houses we couldn't afford, have two or more cars with huge monthly payments, eat out three times a week, or dump our kids in a daycare so both parents could work to pay for the house we couldn't afford, or two or more expensive cars, and eating out all the time. Shopping was not our favorite pastime and certainly not on Sunday when the stores were closed to observe the Day of the Lord.
We didn't parade around half dressed, glorify sex (as though we had invented it), and peddle smut and violence on TV. Our children played outside instead of drooling in front of a TV or computer and spoke when spoken to. We gave up our seats on the trolleys and buses to older folks, and held doors for ladies. We didn't shoot people the finger or a bullet when we were driving our cars, and homosexuals were something we only whispered about rather than speaking of a "life style" held in high regard.
All you whining post Baby Boomers wouldn't have a pot to piss in if it wasn't for us, and the generations that came before us. We worked hard for our slice of the pie, and now you want to take my slice and make it your slice. My advice to you, and in particular to the spoiled, nasty over-paid union workers who are raping this country for what you think you "deserve", and the hoards of uneducated lazy young people of this country, get out of my face and quit insulting the second greatest generation. Get your own slice of pie and leave mine alone.
Any questions?

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today (Aug 15) is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven. Father John Speekman has a wonderful homily posted and garners the coveted quote of the day designation.
[...]In today’s great feast we see the plan of God for all his children. We, too, are destined to rise in the body at the end of time. In this truth we see not only God’s love for us but the dignity of the human body.
As John Paul II says: the mystery of the Assumption proclaims the supernatural destiny and dignity of every human body, called by the Lord to become an instrument of holiness and to share in his glory. What more is there to say? Let us study Mary and learn from her how to value our own body and to guard it as a temple of God, as we await our resurrection. read the rest at his website
Scripture does not give an account of Mary’s Assumption into heaven. Nevertheless, Revelation 12 speaks of a woman who is caught up in the battle between good and evil. Many see this woman as God’s people. Since Mary best embodies the people of both Old and New Testament, her Assumption can be seen as an exemplification of the woman’s victory.
Furthermore, in 1 Corinthians 15:20 Paul speaks of Christ’s resurrection as the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
Since Mary is closely associated with all the mysteries of Jesus’ life, it is not surprising that the Holy Spirit has led the Church to belief in Mary’s share in his glorification. So close was she to Jesus on earth, she must be with him body and soul in heaven.
Never mind what's wrong with Obama. What the hell is wrong with the people of this country?
This crackpot (in more ways than one), who can't take the time or effort to observe a National Day of Prayer, but has plenty of time to entertain every Muslim hot-shot for Ramadingdong, stands up and, without so much as blinking his eyes, extols the virtues of Islam and makes claims that are patently false, annnnnnnnnd scolds us for not wanting a mosque at or near ground zero.

Best blog post title of the day...
and a very interesting article. The bottom line is if Clinton or Obama had anything to do with anything it's rotten to the core. These people are despicable...

Houston - We have a mouse...
what I don't have anymore is a printer 'cause the mouse is plugged into the printer port. My guru handled it over the phone (isn't he smart???) and on Monday he'll pick up my computer to install some new ports, increase the memory, dust out the inside (when I pulled it out from the wall it had an animal growing on the fan outlet - ugh), and tweak everything he can find to tweak. I love my guru!!
So I check into Google Reader and discover that in just over one day I had over two thousand posts to read. Yeah - right! I hit delete. Emails? Over 300, which I realize is a drop in the bucket compared to some really important folks. And to think that this week I was Reaganite Republican's featured blog. Sure bet I impressed bunches of people with my output of pithy articles. Not!
Our road still has a hole the size of New Jersey and the snotty Post Office delivery woman refuses to take the 40 foot detour to deliver our mail as well as to the other three houses on the road. Our tax dollars at work! How I mentioned lately how much I loathe the post office?
The entrance to our road...
The hole...
The trench is for the new water line they're laying for a new sub-division a mile away (are there no water lines on the next road over?) so people can get nothing down loans from Frannie and Freddie and default on the mortgage in a year or two. Didn't we do this once already?
The detour the lazy over-paid postal woman refuses to use. Not to mention she stopped just short of shooting one of the cute water company guys the bird...
The Good News...
The water company has decided to do the hook-up from midnight on so we can sleep through the part where the water is turned off which means we don't have to fill the bathtub in order to have water to flush the toilet. Did I mention the water company guys are really cute? Ladies - I promise some cute water company guy pictures for you.
My lawn tractor has a nice new coil and is humming right along. Next to my computer, my lawn tractor is my most beloved possession. To have my tractor and computer out on the same day was a true test of nerves.
Just when you think things are really annoying, God does something wonderful like this - and we thank Him!
Mind Numbed Robot is also having Adventures in Computing
May I suggest everyone invest in Carbonite? Even my guru thinks it's a smart idea.
Bob Belvedere, at The Camp of the Saints, is gearing up for a mega-post on gay marriage. I will alert you when it is posted. For today, among many other great posts, he brings us his take on Islam and Ramadam in his post "Ramitdown."
Annnnnnnnnd, Bob also put me on to Smitty at The Other McCain posting of the 10 Commandments for Progressives, which is actually 17 commandments, but who's counting.

New Mouse - No Dice
Purchased a brand new mouse and the dang thing is still frozen. My lawn tractor is awaiting a new coil ($65.00) and yesterday the water company dug a 12 foot deep hole the size of an olympic swimming pool in the middle of our private road - with NO ADVANCE WARNING. Seriously! To enter our road we have to drive through a weed-filled ditch. After digging the hole they abandomed the project to deal with some leaks elsewhere but are now back. This is not turning out to be the best week.
The upside is we now have a steady steam of the cutest water company guys stopping in every few hours to give us updates on their progress. OK - I'm shallow...
A call is in to my computer guru and I will check in whenever I am able to wrest control of my hubby's computer (which isn't often)...
Thanks for all your kind thoughts. It is truly apprecated.
For all those waiting for answers to emails it may be awhile. Sorry...

A Beautiful Eulogy for Pro-Life Patricia Neal
Matthew Archbold of Creative Minority Report wrote a touching tribute to Patrica Neal - a great actress and a great lady - and we thank him
Patricia Neal, Pro-Life Advocate RIP

Patricia Neal, the famous actress passed away from lung cancer yesterday. Patricia Neal was a great actress and became a strong Catholic pro-life advocate as an adult.
When Neal was young she fell in love and had an extended affair with her married co-star Gary Cooper. When Neal became pregnant with his child he urged her to have an abortion which she did. Gary Cooper's daughter Maria Cooper famously spat on Neal for carrying on an affair with her father.
Later, however, Maria Cooper and Neal became great friends and it was Maria Cooper who helped bring Neal back to her Catholic faith by having her spend some time at a convent where former actress Sister Dolores was prioress. read the rest

Some of the Best Posts on the Recent Same-Sex Marriage Ruling w/ my thoughts FWIW
starting off with the humble and kind blogger, Stacy McCain, who has once again shown us how a good writer writes - or something. He also garnered the coveted quote of the day award (which really doesn't happen every day, but no matter.) Equality Über Alles
And In The End, The Love You Make, Is Equal To…
Smitty is in agreement with a couple of libertarian homosexuals who favor getting the government out of the marriage business.
So is Cheeky Pink Girl in Sign Me Up for a Church Wedding.
Viewed From the Right disagrees with same-sex marriage in A rejoinder to The Classic Liberal
and (IMO) has some very good reasons.
The Blog Prof has a great video and voices his opinion (quite forcefully) in CNN Goes To Gay Bar In West Hollywood For Their ONLY Reaction To Prop 8 Ruling Overturning Gay Marriage Ban in CA
Matthew Archbold in We the People Means 9, weighs in and earns the second quote of the day award.
And what do I think?
I think this will end up at the Supreme Court. I'm thinking the Supremes will uphold the over-turning of Prop 8, which really means Kennedy, as Mark points out.
None of this is really about "marriage", but about a small minority of people wishing to impose their beliefs on the majority. Being able to get "married" is not the goal here. Homosexuals don't want tolerance or equality. They want you to not only accept their choice of sexual activities, but to approve and even consider a man having sex with a man (with all that entails), and a woman with a woman as normal. It's not and it never will be normal.
Within 10 years or less of this passing, the entire social structure will be even more tilted than it already is. If the state guarantees homosexual marriage as a "right", it will open the floodgates to all sorts of open indoctrination in the schools, churches, and the work place. Homosexual adoption and artificial insemination will be the norm. We can expect the courts to be clogged with same-sex couples fighting over their little designer babies when the union goes belly-up. If over 50% of heterosexual marriages end in divorce, we can certainly not expect "homosexual marriage" to be an improvement.
The state has traditionally protected and encouraged marriage and the family because it's for the good of society. However, when they began rewarding women for having children out of wedlock by throwing money at them, and then coming up with the concept of "no-fault divorce", it has wreaked havoc on our society. Single mothers are, in most cases, the poor that the rest of us have to support. Women and men are cast aside like used Kleenex just because a partner is having a mid-life crisis. Unlike the former wife of Tiger Woods, most of these women will live in reduced circumstances - many to the point of poverty. Boys are raised without fathers to teach them the proper meaning of being a man. And don't even get me started on raising a little girl without a strong father figure to teach her how she should expect to be treated by a real man.
Is there any chance our society will once again embrace our former strong standards of morality? Sure. As soon as we have a huge, ugly crisis. And, trust me (said the spider to the fly), this crisis is coming sooner than we may think, and it will be unimaginably horrible.
So - that's what I think.
A really cool idea!
Head over to Reaganite Republican. He came up with the best ever idea. He did 'point" and Michael at Jumping in Pools did the counterpoint. Maybe I could talk RR into doing one with moi.
Bob Belvedere over at The Camp of the Saints beautifully elaborates on things Stacy has said:"As with Roe v. Wade, once the elite make up their minds about a subject, they go to court to impose their will on the rest of us, and then subject us to lectures about how benighted and backward we are for not sharing their enthusiasm for Progress." And last but certainly not least - from my legal beagle buddy in Spokane, Mark at Ordered Liberty, comes Perry v. Schwarzenegger and the confusion of rights with desires . A most excellent post with some outstanding links."Secularists are winning the culture war because for too long those upholding traditional values didn’t understand the field on which the culture war was taking place. For too long we thought it was simply a battle for the hearts and souls of our fellow Americans. We didn’t know the people had nothing to do with it. When we figured that out we then moved towards politics until we found out that the Senate and the House isn’t where the real power resides either. Then and only then did we discover that the only reason politicians matter is so they can nominate or block judges who actually make the decisions."

Rodinator - A Sure Fire Way to Improve Your Mood
...well, maybe not for you, but it rings my bell. I'm heading out to dig up pocket gopher tunnels and place poison pellets for their lunch. They are everywhere! If I had my druthers, the Rodenator would be my first choice. I am seriously considering investing in one and going into business.Meantime, the Park and Rec department in Spokane has been lambasted for using a Rondenator to control ground squirrels that are causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage.
Debate rages about use of squirrel-detonating Rodenator in Spokane, Wash.
There is no one that loves animals like I do - really! But pocket gophers will feast on your tree roots (as well as my daylily roots and that's my living!) , until there is nothing left alive. Entire alfalfa crops have been wiped out by pocket gophers.I've had to educate myself on pocket gophers and their control. There are no visible entry ways to their tunnels. I use a long metal skewer to locate the actual tunnels which are usually within a foot of one side of the mound. After digging a hole you can find the tunnel and place the pellets. A Rodenator would be faster and kinder.
Check out the Rodenator guy. He's having waaaay too much fun.

Finally...Something to Talk About
This morning has been an exercise in patience and it has taken heaps of fortitude to plow through the news - all of which was depressing. Very depressing!
While coming to the end of my Google Reader session, I happen upon my name on a blog. A link! How nice. And from one of my favorite peeps, DaTechguy. Of course this meant that I had to actually log on and say, thanks.
And that is when my day started to brighten. DaTechguy has a brand new blog design and it is BEAUTIFUL!!
If you're as depressed as I am, take a moment and go see what Peter has done with his blog.
Visit DaTechguy
As to the rest of the depressing news - non of which I can do one dang thing about? It can go punt. I'm going outside until it is time to engage in my favorite hobby later - going to the dentist.
This blogging thing is getting kind of crazy and pointless...
Am I the only person that thinks that?

Federal Workers Scamming Social Security. And this is a surprise, why?
Saw this over at Gateway Pundit:
As They Live off Us, Some Federal Workers Pocket Fraudulent SS Benefits
When I was having my little go-around (for SIX years) with the Social Security Department and U.S. Treasury, I was told by several different Secret Service agents that is was routine for SS employees to cash checks that had been returned because the recipient had died.

Well, this should be fun to watch - Missouri rejects Obamacare. Obama to sue? Couric and her "explosive" video
I wasted five minutes of my day watching the "explosive" video of Katie Couric "mocking" the names of Sarah Palin's sons, thereby "proving" her bias. Folks, this was nothing more than a run-through of her program where, when first reading the names Track and Trig, she questioned where they came up with these names. I would have done the same thing. She is also accused of making fun of Wasilla, when in fact she was trying to ascertain the correct pronunciation - something I wish more TV reporters would do when having to report on a location with an unusual name. And, let's face it, Wasilla does sound funny.
I am in no way implying that Ms Couric was not biased with her reporting of Sarah Palin. To focus on beauty pageants and moose burgers while ignoring Palin's many accomplishments was certainly biased and and meant to show her as "not a serious person." Couric, as well as most every MSM reporter (I refuse to call them journalists), were obviously out to "get" Sarah Palin. The recent Journolist outings made that patently clear.
However, to bandy about this silly video and call it "explosive" and "proof" of bias, makes the right look as silly as the left.

[...]Our rulers have little regard for our opinions, except to the extent they can manipulate them. And when they are not treating us like criminals – things get worse. They treat us like children. And naughty children at that.
We are now advised by the government in a thousand ways that life has become far too complex for mere citizens to manage. Important decisions must now be assigned not to the individual, but to panels of qualified authorities, because they are learned, and they are thoughtful, and they most certainly know what is best for us. read the rest
