Ten Buck Friday: Week Six...

imagine a world without Harry Reid.

You can make that a reality by helping out Republican contenders for Senate seats.

Is it worth ten bucks a week to you to eliminate Reid's control and give the Senate responsible leadership again?

With that in mind, this week we look to the Senate seat in Alaska. Can you contribute just $10 to Senate candidate Dan Sullivan?

Real Clear Politics has Sullivan up 4.8 and rates the race as a toss up.

And yesterday CNN polls showed this:

Let's help keep those numbers up...

You can contribute to Dan Sullivan here.

(If you mark your contribution as "Ten Buck Friday", they'll see if the blogosphere can give them a little bump.)

If you're feeling flush this week, here's some other candidates who could use our help.

Ten Buck Friday: Week Five...

Week Five of a Nine Week Mission, to Seek new life for the Senate, to Boldly Throw Out clueless Harry Reid and his equally clueless supporters!

Focusing on the Senate races, is it worth ten bucks a week to you (a matinee and a small box of popcorn?) to eliminate Reid's control and give the Senate responsible leadership again?

With that in mind, this week we look to the Senate seat in LA. Can you contribute just $10 to Senate candidate Bill Cassidy in his race against Mary Landreu, (D-Washington DC)?

Real Clear Politics has Cassidy up 1.3 points on the average, and rates the state as a toss up.

You can contribute to Bill Cassidy here. Good luck and Godspeed, Bill!

(If you mark your contribution as "Ten Buck Friday", they'll see if the blogosphere can give them a little bump.)

If you don't think your $10.00 makes a difference read this:

From National Journal:
Democratic House Candidates Are Walloping Republicans in the Small-Money Game September 28, 2014 Democratic candidates for Congress are crushing their Republican counterparts in small-dollar donations—outraising their GOP foes by an average of more than $100,000 per candidate in the nation's top races.

That's the finding of a new National Journal analysis of federal records in the most competitive House contests in the country. In those, the average Democrat has collected $179,300 in donations under $200; the average Republican has brought in only $78,535.

"That," said Vincent Harris, a Republican digital strategist, "is a big deal."

Ten Buck Friday on Saturday: Week Four...

being off line for almost an entire day has scrambled my internal calendar.

Each Friday (or Saturday in this case) we are asking our readers to sacrifice one latte to send $10.00 to help us take back our country - vote by vote.

WyBlog and Proof are on the bandwagon for Thom Tillis in NC and so am I.

You can contribute to Thom Tillis here.

Political Clown Parade offers up not only a great post for Ten Buck Friday (really - where does she get the time to do everything she does??), but gave us a list of people who need our help.
With six weeks to go, the fight for control of the Senate is down to five states, four of them currently held by Democrats.

This election cycle is vital from the standpoint of not only regaining control of the Senate but also to have an impact on The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer’s ability to appoint (and have confirmed by the Senate) judges to the federal bench and the Supreme Court. read the rest
Contribute to Bill Cassidy here.
Contribute to Tom Cotton here.
Contribute to Joni Ernst here.
Contribute to Cory Gardner here.
Contribute to Thom Tillis here.

Week Three: Ten Buck Friday...

just do it.  We need to turn this country around.

Proof and Wyblog are suggesting our donation this week should go to Tom Cotton in Arkansas.  While Real Clear Politics has Cotton up by a tiny bit, the race is still considered a toss-up.

Diogenes is suggesting Dr. Bill Cassidy, who is running against the odious Mary Landrieu.
I give a special appeal to donate to the campaign of Dr. Bill Cassidy . It is of the up most importance we defeat Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana.  The race is virtually a dead heat, and this is a chance to finally defeat the Landrieu family political machine and free America from a rubber stamp for Barrack Obama's policies.
What to do?  What to do?

I know...

I'll donate to both!

You can contribute to Tom Cotton here.

You can contribute to Bill Cassidy here

Be sure and mark your contribution "Ten Buck Friday."

Ten Buck Friday - Week Two...

where we can sacrifice a couple of lattes in the interest of taking back our country.

A group of us bloggers have gotten together to revive Ten Buck Friday which was first instituted in 2010.

Looking at the political candidates who may make a difference and the ones who need help is our goal.

If enough of us send a $10.00 donation to one of these candidates, it could make all the difference they may need to win.

I think ten bucks is pretty cheap to get rid of Dingy Harry!

This week we're focusing on these candidates for the Senate:

Contribute to Dan Sullivan  Here
Contribute to Thom Tillis Here
Contribute to Tom Cotton Here
Contribute to Joni Ernst Here
Contribute to Bill Cassidy Here

Feel free to donate more than $10.00 if you wish

and

mark your donation "Ten Buck Friday."

Won't you join us in promoting Ten Buck Friday?  Just let anyone of us know of your interest and we'll add you to the blog roll.

Wherein right-wing blogs become as disgustingly obnoxious as left-wing blogs...

knocking them off my reading list.

I rarely take the time to leave comments on a blog post with which I disagree.  I figure it's their blog and they are free to say anything they want.  If, after time, I disagree with them too often, I just quit going there.  Simple.

I also don't like to see blog administrators continually berate and belittle their commenters.  If the comment was so horrible (such as those left by my troll, hence the comment moderation), they should not be approved.

So when a blog administrator purposely allows a comment they disagree with, and then attacks the person leaving the comment by calling them names - some of which are pretty ugly, I head off and wonder what possessed a person who presents themselves as a conservative to act in such a way.

Could it be that they've found this to be an effective way to pump up their stat counter?  A pumped up stat counter is good for the ads they may be running.  I have ad block plus so I can't answer to the ad question.

Two such examples just happened this week.  No links on purpose.

The first example concerns an article with which I disagreed. I used to enjoy going to DC Clothesline.  This week they ran a really silly article entitled "Ten Reasons not to Shop at Costco."  Fine. They have a right to their opinion.  Thing is, at least 3 or 4 of their "reasons" were provably false assertions.  How much credence can we at that point give to the rest of the reasons?

I left a comment in defense of Costco and am happy to report that out of the other 86 comments, almost 100% were also in support of Costco.

Then this morning, the person who identifies as "Administrator" at "The Burning Platform" posted an article entitled "Never Shop at Home Depot Again" over a data breach problem that he claims was covered up.

I don't usually shop at Home Depot, but for totally different and private reasons.  I worked there for a staggeringly long 2 weeks.  Longest 2 years of my life.  Heh.  But, if I needed something and Home Depot was the only place to acquire the item, I would purchase it there.

What really caught my eye was a comment left by someone calling himself "Nonanonymous."

Nonanonymous says:
AFAIC, it’s the banks and the corporations problem. It’s their fiat credit and their problem.
Boycotting HD would only hurt the people who work there. I really wonder about some of these blogosphere blowhards. Sheesh, it’s getting as bad as the MSM bimbos.
JQ, we know you’re a corporate retail analyst extraordinaire, but there’s more important things in life than retail and partying like a rock star at Wildwood Beach, err, make that retail.
We made it down to the other WB over Labor Day, and plan to go again at the end of this month. No DHS drones this time, just an Osprey on a routine training mission.
I also fondled little boys on the beach.
And here's what the poster at The Burning Platform wrote in response:

Administrator says:
Assholeamous

Why don’t you provide a scripture passage for us all to ponder you fucking douchebag?

Your ignorance of economics is enough to fill the Grand Canyon and your contribution to TBP could fit on the head of a pin.

Fuck off you bible thumping asshole.

Wow!  Way to  Win Friends & Influence People,  Administrator.  Dale Carnegie would be impressed.

Can you imagine hearing something like that from Always On Watch,  Francis Porretto,  Jim Hoft,  Blazing Cat Fur,  MOTUS,  McNorman,  Reaganite Republican,   Proof Positive, or Euripides?

You can't, because it wouldn't happen.

We seem to have a new crop of really nasty "conservative" blogs who are using the same tactics to improve their hits as the libtards.

I'm not telling you to not go to the above mentioned blogs.  I'll say it again:  It's their blog and they can say whatever they want (unless it devolves into unlawful slander), but I also have the choice to not read that trash.

I have more important things to do.  Don't you?

Ten Buck Friday...

is baaaack.

And we have Proof Positive to thank.  Thanks, Proof.

All my incumbents in Idaho are considered safe.  It is Idaho, after all. So, I'll be spreading my money around the country.

Please consider joining us in promoting Ten Buck Friday.

From Wyblog:

Back in halcyon years of old (2010), some conservative bloggers put forth a plan where, a poll would be taken of conservative candidates around the country and the winner would be the recipient of a ten dollar contribution to their campaign from each of the participants. Forgive me for not taking a poll, but there are only nine Fridays between now and the midterm elections. Our country has not had a budget passed in the Senate since 2009, forcing a series of continuing resolutions which keep the nation at the brink of a shut down and masks the obscene amounts of money that the President and Congress want to spend. Hundreds of bills passed in the House are not even brought up for a vote in Harry Reid's Senate.

Focusing on the Senate races (Republicans need just six seats to oust the bottleneck, hyper partisan Harry Reid as majority leader), is it worth ten bucks a week (two lattes?) to eliminate Reid's control and give the Senate responsible leadership again?

With that in mind, this week we look to the open Senate seat in GA. Can you contribute just $10 to Senate candidate David Perdue?

Real Clear Politics has Perdue up 3.8 points on the average, but rates the state as a toss up.

You can contribute to David Perdue here. Good luck and Godspeed, David!

(If you mark your contribution as "Ten Buck Friday", they'll see if the blogosphere can give them a little bump.)

From Political Clown Parade:

On Tuesday, I posted an article informing my readers that a cadre of conservative bloggers were banding together to relaunch a movement called “Ten Buck Friday”.  Four years ago that cadre was determined to help elect fiscal conservatives to Congress.  That was the year that Republicans handed The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer a “shellacking”.
Political strategists agree the House is solidly in GOP hands, and no one thinks the November midterm elections will change that.  House and gubernatorial contests pale in comparison to the question of who will control the Senate next January.  If Republicans win back the Senate, it could have a profound effect on the president’s final years in office and on the future of the Republican Party.
“Ten Buck Fridays” will concentrate on the Senate races of Republicans vying for seats to effectively put this Administration in an “oversight headlock” and rid the Senate of Harry Reid's obstructionist leadership..
Larry Sabato has already called the races in Alabama, Idaho, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wyoming as “safe” for Republicans.
This week I have chosen to highlight what strategists agree are the most vital seats to win:
A victory for Thom Tillis (R-NC) could determine whether the Senate remains in Democratic hands.  Iowa is supposed to be the Democrats’ firewall, but State Senator Joni Ernst has the enthusiasm of Republican circles.  Cory Gardner (R-CO) is running a highly competitive race and a GOP victory would make would make it much more likely that Republicans would win control of the Senate.  Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Tom Cotton (R-AK) are giving fits to Mary Landrieu and Mark Pryor.
Real Clear Politics shows Tillis up by 1, Ernst up by 0.2, Gardner down by 1, Cassidy up by 3 and Cotton up by 1.7 points in their most recent polling.
With all that said, what is “Ten Buck Friday?”  Each Friday between now and November 4th we are asking our readers to consider contributing $10 to the campaign of the candidate(s) we have highlighted that week.  Make sure to mark your contribution “Ten Buck Friday” so the candidate will know the blogosphere is with them in standing guard over liberty.

The reports of my death due to an over-zealous dental hygienist are highly over-rated...

However, death due to boring blogs is quite a possibility.  I lost it with the never ending reportage of racism against Shirley Sherrod and her, possibly even more racist, husband.  Shirley and her husband can be as racist as they want.  It doesn't change my life one tiny bit.  I find pulling weeds in my garden, reading, and cooking fantastic meals to be way more interesting.

I'm more concerned with our country which is circling the drain at a rate that would be the envy of Niagara Falls.

Please explain to me why we have elected officials being paid a salary (not to mention free health care, future pensions, and all the other perks of office),  to actually sit around some room and discuss H.R. 5741, a bill requiring two years mandatory service for all people between the ages of 18 and 42.  Who introduced this?  Why, it was that bastion of moral integrity, Charlie Rangel, who is presently defending himself against charges of ethics violations, which, I might add, are "confidential" and - he will no doubt plea-bargain his way out of whatever it was he did that the people who pay his salary have no right to know.

Or how about the government "losing" over 8 billion dollars of our dollars?

Doesn't the fact that 45.7% of the people, according to the averages of all the polls posted at Real Clear Politics,  approve of the job Obama is doing "worry" you?  It worries me a lot!

How about  Eastern Michigan University Student Told To Endorse Being Gay Or Leave Program Loses Appeal  as reported by the Blog Prof.

Or listen to what the DaTechGuy, a resident of Massachusetts, has to say about being thrown under the bus  in "Massachusetts disenfranchises their voters."

Meantime, wacko union members from L.A. are busing to Phoenix to protest on behalf of people who are breaking the law to prevent them from being prosecuted for breaking the law, all of which will probably start a  huge riot. Glad I don't live there anymore!  Sure hope it doesn't interfere with the vacations Obama and his wife have planned.

Ooops, too late:    Judge Blocks Parts of Arizona Immigration Law
Immigrants are not required to carry papers according to the judge.  Huh?   I thought that according to Federal law, it was required that permanent resident aliens had to carry their green card with them at all times.

I still predict a riot...

Along those lines Pat, at And so it goes in Shreveport, has been working overtime caring for her elderly Mom who suffered a fall.  Pat's Mom might be "elderly" in body, but her mind is sharp as a tack.  Having settled her Mom in a rehab facility (which she will no doubt take over in order to make sure it is run properly), Pat is  headed to Natchitoches for some well-deserved rest.  God bless the Pat's of the world!

Left Coast Rebel (no link on purpose) is quite excited about being published in the Daily Caller again.  He would like everyone to promote him by way of twitter, their blogs, or what have you.  This would be the same Left Coast Rebel who never, ever links to me, by the way.  Check out his top referrers on the right side of his blog (if you bother to Google it) and you'll see my name in his top referrer column. Now, check the left side of my blog and you'll see LCR linked.

Mr. Rebel has forgotten that when he was a newbie, I promoted him endlessly.  He in turn, has never even given me a link on his blogroll.   It is indeed sad to see what appeared to be a nice young man become so full of himself to the point of bragging.

From his website:

Why I Call Myself a Constitutionalist

My core philosophy is that our founders got it right more than 200 years ago when they established the Constitution to protect our God given rights by limiting government. They understood that “government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.” (Thomas Paine) Unfortunately, the Federal government has repeatedly involved itself in issues in which it has no Constitutional authority and has become intolerable. While claiming this or the other act will “solve the problem”, they have done the opposite and complicated the issues. By bailing out failing companies, they reward unethical and unwise behavior while punishing the innocent and prolonging economic recovery. By setting up “one program fits all” standards for our children, they are leaving more students “left behind” than ever before. By over regulating the health care system, they have increased inflation adjusted health care costs 4x in just the last 40 years. These are just a few examples of government being the problem, not the solution.
Decades of history tell us that increasing government involvement, and therefore taxes, strangles the economy, yet both sides of the aisle continue to offer another “program” to save us from the “crisis of the day.” NO, that is not the answer. The answer is to get the government out of the way and let Americans do what we do best! The history of America shows that capitalism and liberty created the greatest standard of living of any nation in earth’s history. In order to recover our economy and our jobs, we must go back to what made us great – individual liberty and capitalism.
This election will be a historic opportunity to retake our government from the career politicians and power brokers who believe they know better how we should live our lives than we do. If you agree that Washington is doing a good job running your life, I am not your candidate. If, however, you want an advocate in Washington saying NO to every unconstitutional bill that is proposed, then I am your candidate. If you want an advocate in Washington that will articulate what the Constitution says and why it must be followed, both morally and economically, then I am your candidate. If you want an advocate in Washington that will fight day and night to dismantle the monster that our Federal government has become, then I am your candidate.
I am passionate about liberty. I am passionate about our country and its future. I am passionate about restoring Constitutional limits on government. This is who I am, who I have always been, and who I will continue to be in Washington.

Van is a Christian, married 14 years, has two young daughters and lives in Dandridge, TN in the 3rd District. He is a patent and constitutional attorney with his own law firm, Law Office of Van R Irion PLLC. His practice includes patents, business transactions, contract disputes, civil litigation, and constitutional law. He is veteran of Operation Desert Shield, serving in the US Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. He has a Biochemistry degree from the University of California and a Law Degree from McGeorge School of Law. He formerly founded a biotech company to research treatments for stroke and acute injury and served for many years as a volunteer fire fighter and EMT. Van currently is currently seeking to serve the public again as the U.S. Congressman for Tennessee’s 3rd District.

Important Goals and Guidelines for Ten Buck Friday

Nationalize every House Senate race in 2012

Right Klik has been hard at work bringing order to Ten Buck Friday with his talent for organizing.  He has posted some goals and guidelines and emphasized the impact we can make in our country - and we thank him.

I might add that by visiting the supporters of Ten Buck Friday we can become acquainted with other blogs we may not have known about.  Since I live in Idaho, which is a conservative state, and is absent so much of the drama other states have (we'll skip talking about Larry Craig, thank you very much), this is a great chance for me to reach out and help in other state races.

From Right Klik:
Hundreds of conservatives, including about 60 bloggers, are providing their ever-growing support for TBF. The idea started in May with one blogger, Conscientiously Conservative, and it has gone viral over the past few weeks.

As TBF has grown, the need for guidelines and organization has grown as well. We'll get to those issues later in this post, but first I want to review the basic idea of "Ten Buck Fridays."   It's important to read the rest
