Mitt Romney: This is our time...

 five more days.

Trifecta: Voter fraud?...

by voting early?

Why I support Obama...

a look into the mind of a liberal.

A recent picture has been circulating among the people who consider themselves the "intelligentsia" listing the reasons they consider most important to reelect Obama.

The country has added over 6 trillion dollars of new debt,  23 million people are out of work, which doesn't include the people who have given up even looking for work, tens of millions of people have been added to the ranks of the disabled, and millions more are now on food stamps.  Billions of our dollars have been diverted to so-called green energy companies in what will go down in history as the biggest money laundering scheme ever.  ObamaCare is decimating businesses and causing lay-offs, and four Americans were sacrified in Benghazi in what can only be called an act of treason by this administration, and the following is why they think Obama deserves another term.

These people, who can be referred to as the low-information voters, are more concerned about "free" birth control - an issue that was never an issue until a very short time ago, homosexuals being able to "marry", and the mourning of dead fish, than they are about dead Americans.

They live cocooned in a world awash in soy lattes, surrounded by others of their ilk, and neither fact-check their assumptions or converse on the issues with anything other than ad hominem attacks.  They demand tolerance while displaying an intolerance for conservatives or religious people that can only be called, well, intolerant and they completely fail to see the irony.

You can't turn the Titanic around in a day?  In case you haven't gotten the news, the Titanic sunk and so will you.

DAN RIEHL IS SICK: Dr. Melissa Clouthier writes:
Sorry I didn’t write earlier. Thought you’d want to know that Dan went into the hospital last night with respiratory failure. They had to do pulmonary bypass because he couldn’t be intubated. The doctor gave him a 50-50 chance of living.
I talked to the nurse today, she thinks he’s doing better. They’re currently chasing his heart rate and trying to keep him oxygenated — he has a nasal canula now, which is not that big of a deal. They said they’d try to move him out of ICU tonight but weren’t sure.
He’s at the Fairfax County hospital.

Obama releases really tasteless ad comparing losing virginity to voting for him...

no, really.

I don't think I've seen anything quite this ridiculous in any campaign, ever!

From Breitbart:
This afternoon, the Obama campaign released its latest ad from a celebrity. This one was from Lena Dunham, 26-year-old creator of HBO’s raunchy series Girls. It’s an astoundingly tasteless ad comparing voting for the first time to losing your virginity. Really. And Dunham recommends that if you’re going to have sex – er, vote – for the first time, you should really do it with President Barack Obama.  read the rest

Last night's debate: The words mean little when compared to the body language...

and Obama's was small and hunched.

Since I have been engaged in my annual fall cleaning, I was so exhausted last night that I kept falling asleep during the debate.  The good news is you may now eat off the top of my kitchen cabinets (ladder required), and my bathroom is no longer home to a tube of antibiotic cream that expired in 2003 (really!)

While trying not to do a swan dive into my pizza (successful), and before inelegantly having my head fall backwards with mouth, no doubt, hanging open, this is what I noticed.

Obama's ugly posture.  Yep, my reptilian brain was so focused on his head thrust forward on his little pencil neck, chin poking out, and his rather hunched back, I couldn't even concentrate on any words coming out of his mouth (which is a good thing.)

Notice how Romney's head is balanced correctly over his spine and his shoulders are straight?

Say what you will about the words spoken last night, but the reality is people react viscerally to posture and presentation, and Obama's posture telegraphed "petty, mean-spirited loser" to the American people.

And guess what?  The Romney campaign knows this and that's the very reason they made sure Obama's posture was highlighted in this recent ad.

What's at stake on Nov. 6th: Obamacare will break this nation...

it's their plan.

Obamacare is one of the biggest issues facing this country, aside from someone dropping a big bomb on us, in which case, Obamacare becomes a moot point.

By now, most of you have learned that working 30 hours per week has been designated by this administration as full-time work.  The CNS article linked below expands on exactly what that means.

The second article deals with the Medicare Advantage program.  Both my husband and I pay extra to participate in this program.  It doesn't come "free", anymore than Medicare is "free."  Do we have a choice about participating in Medicare?  Not if we want to collect our Social Security, which, I might add, automatically deducts our Medicare premium from our monthly allowance.

I have taken a very small part-time job in order to add to what we've dubbed our "medical tourism" account.  If Obamacare is not repealed, I predict the closing of many hospitals, and a rapid decline in the number of doctors.  Most of the doctors who stay in the system will not accept Medicare patients - a problem that already exists.

So what will be the next logical step for the state?  It will impose a mandate that all doctors who wish to practice medicine must treat a certain percentage of Medicare patients.  The problem is there will be a shortage of doctors and a shortage of hospitals.  A mandate against someone who doesn't exist, in this case the doctor, is really no mandate at all.

CNS News:   Obamacare Mandate: Anyone Who Works 30-Hour Week Is Now 'Full-Time'

NRO: Obamacare’s Hidden Switcheroo

And from Freedom Works:

Top Ten Reasons to Repeal ObamaCare

1) It’s unconstitutional.
2) It will drive up health insurance costs.
3) It will cause millions of Americans to lose their workplace health benefits.
4) It will force us to purchase government-controlled health insurance.
5) It will greatly increase the deficit.
6) It imposes 18 new taxes, including an expensive tax on medical devices and the first-ever tax on workplace health benefits.
7) It will lead to bureaucratic rationing of health care.
8) It violates freedom of conscience.
9) It’s unpopular.
10) There’s a better way.

I urge you to read the entire document (.pdf) from Freedom Works which expands each of these ten points.  It's 17 pages long, however, much of that is taken up with notations, so it's a very fast read.  I flew through it in about 5 minutes.

Cover up: Benghazigate...

MOTUS manages to put quite the point on the story - and we thank her.

What Didn’t He Know and When Didn’t He Know It?

By the way, did you know there were drones flying around filming the attack?  I find it utterly nauseating that an American Ambassador was being sodomized, tortured, and killed while our unmanned drone filmed it.   And our current president?  He was sleeping.

The United States had an unmanned Predator drone over its consulate in Benghazi during the attack that slaughtered four Americans — which should have led to a quicker military response, it was revealed yesterday.
“They stood, and they watched, and our people died,” former CIA commander Gary Berntsen told CBS News.
The network reported that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft observed the final hours of the hours-long siege on Sept. 11 — obtaining information that should have spurred swift action.
But as Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three colleagues were killed by terrorists armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, Defense Department officials were too slow to send in the troops, Berntsen said. read the rest

How stupid are people?...

this stupid.

First, a bunch of people buy indecently high-priced tickets to see a washed-up no-talent harridan who earns her living by spewing profanity and showing us her sagging lady parts.  The aforementioned harridan proceeds to wander out on stage three hours after the event was supposed to begin and these mindless dopes actually cheer.  Maybe they were glad they didn't have to wait four hours.

The harridan then proceeds to open her "show" by pretending to shoot guns into the audience aided by a bunch of ski mask wearing sidekicks.

The mindless twits sitting in the audience are suddenly angry at the harridan for being "insensitive."  This was Denver after all, and spitting distance from where a madman opened fire in a theater killing 12 people.

Let me get this straight.  It is okay for this no-talent harridan to keep you waiting for three hours?  It is okay for this harridan to use vile obscene language, show her lady parts (which no one really wants to see), and simulate sex acts on stage, but suddenly you're "uncomfortable" with her pretending to shoot guns?

What exactly did you expect?  A prayer meeting?

And these mindless twits, most of whom have never even heard of Benghazi, are allowed to vote?

We're doomed!

Trevor Loudon: Let's make this go viral...

I agree.  It's excellent.

From Trevor:
I recorded this video a couple of weeks ago. It is my message to America. In it, I attempt to explain the global implications of the upcoming US elections.

This election is the most crucial in modern American history. It is not primarily about jobs and economics, it is about national security and, to be blunt, national survival.

America, and indeed the entire Western World, faces destruction if communist sympathizer Barack Obama is returned to office.

This video is being distributed all over the United States. Please watch it, and if you agree with the basic ideas expressed, send it out through your networks, to as many people as you can, conservative, liberal, undecided, it doesn’t matter.

Sometimes it takes an outside view to clarify important matters. I hope this message will serve that purpose.

An emergency room doctor speaks out...

and it's not pretty.

On Oct. 2 of this year, I posted about the fines being levied against hospitals if they re-admit a patient within 30 days of discharge.  Grouch at Right Truth, an ER doctor, tells us how this is working in the real world.

From The Grouch at Right Truth:
Today while working my shift in the emergency room, an old lady was brought in very sick and in fact near death. I did my usual workup and evaluation and attempted to administer life saving treatment. It was my plan to admit this woman to the hospital. I found out a little later that this same woman had been a patient here just slightly more than 2 weeks ago with a DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS. I was told that if this woman was admitted, the hospital would not be paid.
The new Medicare rule now is that if the same Medicare patient is re-admitted to the hospital within 30 days, the hospital will not be paid. When they first started this nonsense they said this only applied to patients with the same diagnosis. Now they have "expanded" the rule to include re-admissions for any reason. So if you're in the hospital for pneumonia, and 3 weeks later, you break your leg.......too bad. Medicare will not pay the hospital to fix your leg.  Read the rest

Do you use electronic cigarettes...

or are you thinking of buying one?

When I first switched to electronic cigarettes (e-cigs), I was pretty confused about the way they worked and what I needed to order.

After searching the internet for a good place to purchase, I bumped into Electronic Cigarettes, Inc.  I still had lots of questions so I gave them a call and was very pleased with customer service (not to mention the prices.)

I purchased a Vapor King and have continued to use it and place all my orders with this company.

Eventually, I became an affiliate and now receive a small commission on any orders placed when you click on one of my links - like the one below.

If you are an e-cig user, or considering buying one, won't you consider Electronic Cigarettes, Inc?

Click on the Vapor King banner to visit Electronic Cigarettes, Inc.

Recent research about e-cigs:

From Bloomberg Business
Aug 27, 2012

Electronic cigarettes used by smokers who want to kick the habit show no connection to heart disease, according to a study that adds to evidence of health benefits of switching from tobacco to smokeless alternatives.

E-cigarettes, electronic tubes that simulate the effect of smoking by producing nicotine vapor, prompted no adverse effects on cardiac function in the study, researchers from the Athens- based Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center said in a report presented at the European Society of Cardiology annual meeting in Munich today.

Investigators examined the heart activity of 20 young daily smokers after one ordinary cigarette against 22 people who smoked an electronic cigarette for 7 minutes. Whereas tobacco smokers showed “significant” disruptions of functions such as heartbeats or blood pressure, the effect of e-cigarettes on the heart was minimal, Konstantinos Farsalinos, one of the researchers, said in the presentation.

“Currently available data suggest that electronic cigarettes are far less harmful, and substituting tobacco with electronic cigarettes may be beneficial to health,” Farsalinos said.

Previous studies have found that the electronic devices would have to be smoked daily for four to 12 months to achieve the levels of nitrosamines, a carcinogen, that are present in a single tobacco cigarette, the researchers said. Industrywide e- cigarette sales this year are likely to double from $250 million in 2011, according to UBS AG.

Psychological Effects

Electronic cigarettes, which mimic the look and feel of traditional versions without generating smoke and ash, are one of the few smoking alternatives that provide users with their chemical need for nicotine and reproduce the psychological effect of holding and smoking a cigarette, the researcher said.

Makers of the battery-powered devices include Lorillard Inc. (LO), a Greensboro, North Carolina-based producer of standard cigarettes, which acquired Blu Ecigs for $135 million in April. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has yet to impose rules on the testing and production of e-cigarettes.
About 2.5 million people use e-cigarettes in the U.S., according to an estimate by the Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association.

Although nicotine is present in the devices’ vapor, it is absorbed by the blood at a far slower rate than tobacco smoke, accounting for the lower levels of toxicity, Farsalinos said. No traces of nitrosamine were found in the e-cigarettes in the study, he said.

The World Health Organization has asked that clinical studies be conducted to determine whether e-cigarettes are safe and effective as they aren’t regulated, he said. Manufacturers market the product as safer than smoking without studies to back it up, he said.

“Electronic cigarettes are not a healthy habit, but they are a safer alternative to tobacco cigarettes,” Farsalinos said in Munich today.

Kevin DuJan at Hillbuzz has a theory about Obama's choice of election night venue...

is he right?

Sounds pretty plausible to me.

From Hillbuzz:
I’ve written before about the fact that Barack Obama was not planning another big Election Night victory party in Grant Park here in Chicago like the spectacle he put on in 2008, because no one I know in the Parks Department or in the event planning community had anything on their radar for Grant Park that night.  Because of the permitting and union rules that plague any event in this City (which wouldn’t be waived even for Obama, due to liability and insurance issues the City would face if anything went wrong and permitting was not followed to the “T”) we would have known a few weeks ago if Obama expected another win and was going to celebrate in Chicago again.  That massive Grant Park victory rally took a while to plan and involved far too many vendors for anything similar to be replicated this year without people already knowing.

I’ve suspected for some time that Obama was going to plan for a concession speech on November 6th, but last night final confirmation arrived in the form of leaked news that the Obama election night event is being staged in private McCormick Place, not a big public setting like Grant Park.  read the rest

Mr. President, where did the money go?...

good question.

Here's a big part of the answer:

From the Daily Caller (emphasis mine):

Report: Welfare government’s single largest budget item in FY 2011 at approx. $1.03 trillion
The government spent approximately $1.03 trillion on 83 means-tested federal welfare programs in fiscal year 2011 alone — a price tag that makes welfare that year the government’s largest expenditure, according to new data released by the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee.

The total sum taxpayers spent on federal welfare programs was derived from a new Congressional Research Service (CRS) report on federal welfare spending — which topped out at $745.84 billion for fiscal year 2011 — combined with an analysis from the Republican Senate Budget Committee staff of state spending on federal welfare programs (based on “The Oxford Handbook of State and Local Government Finance”), which reached $282.7 billion in fiscal year 2011.

The data excludes spending on Social Security, Medicare, means-tested health care for veterans without service-connected disabilities, and the means-tested veterans pension program.  read the rest
