I Want To Live Like This

Fly, fly my heart from a flower to a flower
With tenderness and love,
Fly for me...

Fly because my happiness
Lives only in reality
Next to you...

I want to live like this
With the sun on my face
And happy I sing,
Blissfully.

I want to live like this and enjoy
A mountain air
Because this charm
Is priceless!

Today I love passionately
This impudent brook
Perfectly singing about love...
Blossoming plants
Fill my heart with delight,
Do you know why?

I want to live like this
With the sun on my face
And happy I sing,
I sing for you!

Don't deceive me, golden Sun,
Caress me and give me the warmth,
You are so good...
You breathe together with me,
You know how to relieve my anguish.
You are my lodestar.

Blossoming plants
Fill my heart with delight,
Do you know why?

I want to live like this
With the sun on my face
And happy I sing,
I sing for you!

A toy train in space...

too cool.

From:  Ron Fugelseth
On Aug 24th 2012 we sent my son's favorite train "Stanley" to space in a weather balloon with a HD camera and an old cell phone for GPS. He was recovered 27 miles away in a corn field and we got some great footage of the trip. This video documents the journey from liftoff to landing.

Quick note on safety from Ron Fugelseth:
I'm getting so many comments regarding safety that I think I should write a quick note to let everyone know of the precautions I took before launching Stanley into the sky.

First off, I called the FAA 15 minutes before launch (per their instructions) so they could make sure no planes fly into the flight path. I read and followed all their rules for weather balloon launches. It had a homemade radar reflector, and a 3 foot parachute.

Second, the box was only 2 pounds and made of foam core, with a wooden dowel to hold Stanley in front of the camera. I spent two months monitoring the winds with this website http://weather.uwyo.edu/polar/balloon_traj.html to pinpoint the general area that he would land. For safely, I launched him from a location that I knew would bring him down into farm land. The prediction website was only 5-10 miles off, so he landed safely in a corn field, far away from any towns.

I didn't want Stanley to be a murderer. Plus I wanted to make sure my son got Stanley back. :)

Morning Joe and What's Her Name lie about Romney/Ryan event...w/Update

hmmmmmmmm.

Everyone is always talking about these creatures, but I've never seen their show.  I also don't indulge in watching arrogant elitist crazies spouting off on the Sunday morning shows. There really is only so much a person can take.

However, this clip of Joe and What's Her Name lying their fool heads off is pretty egregious. A caller to the Glenn Beck show that was at the rally sets the record straight as to what really happened.

Update:

Medicare and contraceptives...

let's keep this simple.

The Annual Notice of Changes for 2013 for True Blue Medicare Advantage Plan just hit the mailbox.

Here's just one change:
Diabetes Program and Supplies:

2012 You pay 0% of the cost for Medicare-covered diabetes monitoring supplies.
2013 You pay 10% of the cost for Medicare-covered diabetes monitoring supplies.
I'm not a diabetic so I never paid much attention to what was covered and what wasn't.

Due to Obamacare, seniors with diabetes who have paid into that wretched system their entire lives, and who continue to pay hundreds of dollars per month in premiums, and if working still pay a Medicare tax, will pay a 10% co-pay for their diabetes monitoring supplies.   Got that?

But Obama thinks that the Sandra Flukes of the world should receive birth control pills for "free" with no co-pay and to not do so constitutes a "war on women."  Want to know what's really going on?  The 10% seniors are paying for their diabetes supplies will help pay for all the "free" birth control for the loser women of the world who actually think they're getting something for "free."

In what world does this make sense?

Political cartoon distorts the Minnesota Marriage Amendment
My fellow Minnesotans will have the opportunity on election day this November to vote in favor of an amendment to the Minnesota state constitution which would define marriage as being between one man and one woman. Minnesota is ground-zero for this nationwide battle over nature versus distortions of nature provoked by appetites or errors about true friendship.
In the local press (liberal) there is a telling political cartoon. It is telling because it reveals either that the cartoonist is ignorant of the issues and players involved and is simply waving his arms around, or that he is adopting – maybe consciously – a page from the tactics of Saul Alinsky, namely,  read the rest

What part of "Romneycare" does Romney actually own?...

an important read.

And judging from the number of comments on the following article, enough people are not reading it.

The author, Joseph E. McIsaac, has neatly gathered up the timeline and circumstances of the passage of "Romneycare" in an easy to understand neat little package.  I have not had time to "trust, but verify", but it seems to me that the events leading up to the passage of "Romneycare" as laid out by Mr. McIsaac, are easily verifiable.

Understanding Romneycare
Conservative criticism of Mitt Romney's involvement in Massachusetts' universal health care (so-called "Romneycare") targets one of the most misunderstood issues in the 2012 presidential race.  Critics lash out against Romneycare as proof that Romney lacks true conservative credentials, yet a closer look at the political reality that prevailed in the Commonwealth actually reveals that Romney deserves much credit for a principled, high-integrity handling of this legislation.  read the rest

Obama's team predicting he'll lose debates...

because he's too busy being president??

I'm with Weasel Zippers on this.  What a crock of shit!
“The President will have a little bit of time to review and practice before the debates, but he has had to balance the management of world events, governing, time out campaigning and will have less time than we anticipated to sharpen and cut down his tendency to give long, substantive answers,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki told ABC News.
He's had time enough to go on every low-class TV show, hang out with the most disreputable classless low-life uneducated ignorant entertainers, and  shovel food into his gaping pie-hole while campaigning, but he doesn't have time to meet with world leaders - or prepare for a debate.  "Substantive answers" is code for a bunch of stuttering nonsense syllables strung together in an incoherent pattern.  SCoaMF!!

IT'S OVER: The Left's Information Warfare Campaign Has Failed -- and Mitt Romney is Going to Win This Election
Are you down? Are you glum, dejected, feeling like Republicans can't catch a break? Are you sick of Mitt Romney's gaffes, hyped hysterically by obsolete media with breathless "Romney Can't Win 2012" Special Reports?

Have you been overwhelmed by criticism of the GOP from so-called conservatives? Let's consider the sources: Bill Kristol is a useless coot whose predictions are unerringly off-base. Peggy Noonan is a yenta. Rich Lowery is a sellout. And David Brooks isn't worth the three seconds I just spent typing this sentence. 2012 Election Prediction: Mitt Romney Wins. And here's why.

Did Romney succumb to libtard pressure to release his tax returns?...

I don't think so.

I think, for what it's worth, his timing was perfect and his intent was clear.  He allowed the crazy libtards to rant endlessly about his tax returns, and the longer they ranted, the more ridiculous the claims became.

After Romney made his statement about the disastrous happenings in Libya, culminating in the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens, the comments on places like Huff & Puff, would always veer back to, "Yeah, well sorry about Chris, but where are the tax returns?"  It was a mantra that bordered on pathological.

By allowing his detractors to work themselves into a frenzy and conjure up every conceivable reason for not releasing them, Romney effectively silences the one and only thing they can complain about.

Of course, as I made clear in my last post, that doesn't stop them.  However, it has rendered their ravings recognizable as the lunacy they represent. Now they're ticked off that he gave millions to charity and actually, in some years, overpaid his taxes.

Wild Bill examines the concept that libtards think Jesus is a liberal.  Really?  Romney gave away millions of dollars to charity.  That's a conservative principle.  Taking money by force to give to others is theft.  Jesus didn't condone theft.  It's as simple as that.

Romney releases taxes and the libtards are still outraged...

why you ask?

Let's take a peek at some comments on Huff and Puff (I go there so you don't have to. You're welcome.) As always, I leave a trail of corn kernels so I can safely find my way out of the madness of the liberal
mind.

  • Had Mitt owed 14.1% on his 2011 return and paid it, I’d be annoyed by the tax breaks the rich enjoy, but I’d accept it. However, THIS IS NOT WHAT MITT DID. Mitt deliberately paid MORE taxes than he owed, thinking he could “fool” us. Really, Mitt? Really? Do you think there is anyone who doesn’t see through this? I have never been so tired of a candidate in my life. OBAMA 2012

  • Again, I keep reminding myself, this is according to his "reported" income, and how many dollars aren't "reported"?  If one presumes Mitt has $250 Million, this income amounts to just shy of a 5% return which I find very difficult to accept.

  • So he did not take the full charitable deduction so his rate would be higher ? tsk...tsk......Did he just say that if he paid more than he owed that would disqualify him to run for President ?

  • Can you say ""PUT A FORK IN YOU ROMNEY, YOU'RE DONE!"

  • Slow down, and consider what this 2011 return tells us. Despite Mitt’s insatiable love of $$$, he inexplicably pays MORE than he owes in 2011. His actions are /duplicitous/, manipulative, and /cynical/.  Didn’t we already know this? Didn’t his videoed comments make his 1040s rather irrelevant anyhow?  OBAMA 2012

  •  Oh my God ; he makes $13.7 Million and pays 13.9% in taxes. Meanwhile people making about $75,000 or less are paying upwards of 22 to 30+ in taxes. Okay, what fools we poor folks are. We continue to let the 1% say "Let them eat cake" and nothing else. Again go home and play with your horses - Mr. & Mrs. Romney.

The first comment is a stunner.  How dare you overpay your taxes and make the rest of us look like the envious slackers we are!  At the root of all these comments is an unrelenting envy of success.  These unhappy people are essentially saying, "You have a bunch of money and I want some of it, because obviously I'd have more if you had less."  Not exactly, Cupcake.  If we stripped Romney of every dime he had, you'd still be living in your mother's basement complaining about how "unfair" the world is.

All the people I know that think like this have one dominating personality characteristic; their failures are always someone else's fault.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church: (emphasis mine)

2539 Envy is a capital sin. It refers to the sadness at the sight of another's goods and the immoderate desire to acquire them for oneself, even unjustly. When it wishes grave harm to a neighbor it is a mortal sin:
St. Augustine saw envy as "the diabolical sin."327 "From envy are born hatred, detraction, calumny, joy caused by the misfortune of a neighbor, and displeasure caused by his prosperity."328
2540 Envy represents a form of sadness and therefore a refusal of charity; the baptized person should struggle against it by exercising good will. Envy often comes from pride; the baptized person should train himself to live in humility:
Would you like to see God glorified by you? Then rejoice in your brother's progress and you will immediately give glory to God. Because his servant could conquer envy by rejoicing in the merits of others, God will be praised.329

Did Chick-fil-A cave to homosexual demands and change it's policy?.....

I don't think so.

Everyone was sure in a hurry to condemn Chick-fil-A without getting the facts.  And the fact is that nothing has changed about how Chick-fil-A will run it's business.  This was a ginned up controversy, driven by pro-homosexual activists to slander the CEO of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy.

I refrained from posting on this when it first hit the news because it didn't pass the smell test.  Not having enough time to dig a bit deeper, I let it go.  The link below gives a more detailed description of how this kerfuffle came to be.

But, guess what?  The damage has been done.  The so-called MSM, as well as many bloggers, both right and left, have spread the disinformation.  All anyone will remember is that Chick-fil-A "caved", which is far from the truth.

Trust, but Verify!

Chick-fil-A: Who We Are. A Response to Recent Controversy. (emphasis mine)

For many months now, Chick-fil-A’s corporate giving has been mischaracterized. And while our sincere intent has been to remain out of this political and social debate, events from Chicago this week have once again resulted in questions around our giving. For that reason, we want to provide some context and clarity around who we are, what we believe and our priorities in relation to corporate giving.

A part of our corporate commitment is to be responsible stewards of all that God has entrusted to us. Because of this commitment, Chick-fil-A’s giving heritage is focused on programs that educate youth, strengthen families and enrich marriages, and support communities. We will continue to focus our giving in those areas. Our intent is not to support political or social agendas.
As we have stated, the Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. source

Romney slams Obama on redistributing wealth...

no apologies!

Nor should there be...

Wow! Biden actually tells the truth...

by accident.

From The Hill:

Biden on Romney’s '47 percent' remarks: ‘I’ll let his words speak for themselves’
Vice President Biden refused to fully weigh in on Mitt Romney's comment that "47 percent" of Americans are "dependent on government" and would not vote for him.

"I’ll let his words speak for themselves," Biden said to reporters after a campaign speech in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Tuesday.  read the rest
Guess what, Mr. Biden?  The words do speak for themselves and do it quite well.  I was just wandering around Huff & Puff (don't worry - I always leave a trail of corn kernels so I can find my way home), and the libtards over there are all in a snit.  "How could Romney say such a thing?"  It just shows how he thinks about 47% of the people of this country."  "He's doomed." Actually, it shows what the majority of people think about the whiners and losers and I think he picked up quite a few votes.

Rush at his best...

powerful!

Rush was on fire this morning.  Here's the transcript of what he said:

A Golden Opportunity for Mitt Romney

RUSH:  I tell you, I really hope that Mother Jones pulls down that Romney video pretty fast.  Well, what he said about the Palestinians not wanting peace, that's got the media as riled up as anything.  The Palestinians are sacred to some people in our news media and the rest of the Democrat Party.  Almost as sacred as Mohammed is the to the Islamists. And if they don't pull that video down, our media might start rioting over what Romney said.

Okay, let's just dive in here.  Romney's at a fundraiser, he's in Boca Raton.  I think I've mentioned this to you, folks, a couple of times.  I have attended such fundraisers.  I was not at this one, but I have been at candidate fundraisers, and I've had meetings with presidential candidates.  And, without exception, this is common.  Republican presidential candidates go full metal conservatism when they're talking to donors.  When I saw the Romney video, the first thing I thought, "All right, we have a golden opportunity."

I don't care how this is being cast by the media.  That's predictable.  What are we doing here?  What is really happening?  This election is about what?  It's about stopping Barack Obama.  That's what this election's about.  And we are hoping that a majority of people agree with us, that Barack Obama needs to be stopped.  So here's Romney at the Boca Raton fundraiser, and he happens to be telling these people a certain level of truth, a certain level of accuracy.  I think there's a bunch of people in that 47% that don't want to be there.  I think there's a lot of that 47%, they're there because of Obama.  This is such a golden opportunity.

This could be the opportunity for Romney and for that campaign to finally take the gloves off and take the fear off and just start explaining conservatism. Start explaining liberty to people and what it means, and explain that they don't have to be in that 47%.  There's no reason for them, for everybody, to essentially have given up on their future in this country.  There's no reason for it.  This is, to me, such an opportunity to espouse conservatism and to explain to people. Now that people are focused on this, now that people are paying attention to it, this is a golden opportunity, and we know Romney's got it in him because of what he said to these people.

I've been sworn to secrecy.  Folks, this is common.  If you knew what Republican moderate presidential candidates said to their donors, you'd be a little ticked off because you'd wonder why they don't speak that way in public.  They are as conservative as you and I are.  I've spoken to them privately.  The candidates that I see on the campaign trail versus the ones that tell me what they really think are two different people.  There is a fear of being conservative because of what has happened to Romney with this.  They've been sitting on this video for a while.  This goes back to, what, May, or what have you.  But the objective here hasn't changed.  It's been this way since maybe a couple of days after Obama was inaugurated.

We want to stop Obama.  We have got to get Obama and the Democrats out of power if this country's future is to have any semblance of its past.  We don't want this country to be finished, as founded.  We don't want this country to be over.  We don't want 47% of the country thinking that there's no hope for them.  We don't want 47% of the country giving up.  And, like I say, I don't think all 47% are made up of people who are dependent, but I know what Romney was trying to say to these people.  He was basically telling these people that we have reached a crossroads in this country.  You and I talk about it all the time.

We ask ourselves, "Okay, have we reached the tipping point?"  Just like de Tocqueville said, have we reached the point where more people are comfortable being cared for and taken care of than they are providing for themselves?  And we've all feared that this election or thought this election was going to give us the answer to that question.  That's been the fear that we've all had.  Where are we?  The questions being asked on the conservative blogs when somebody says, "How come Romney's not 15 points ahead?" that's what they mean.  What they really mean is, have we lost the country?  Have we lost the culture?  Have we lost the American work ethic?  Have we lost American optimism? Have we lost the thing that was talked about all over the Republican convention?

What was the theme of that convention? Every speaker got up there and talked about how their parents had nothing, came from nothing, and America gave the speakers the opportunity to be the best they could be, using whatever talents and ambition that they had. This is a gold mine of opportunity that Romney has here. The real question is: Does he have anybody on his staff to tell him? Does he have anybody -- any consultants -- who will, or are they still gonna be wallowing in fear over this?

'Cause it's out there, and it's gonna be dealt with, and it may as well be seized as an opportunity. Whatever happened to the drive to improve ourselves? Whatever happened to the drive to be better today than yesterday? Whatever happened to the drive to pursue excellence? Whatever happened to all that? I think it's still there. That's what EIB is all about. What EIB is all about is... You people don't know. I am so desirous of this: I wish everybody in this country could do well.

I want everybody to experience the abundance and the greatness of this country. I want everybody to be told how to do it, not told that it can't be done, which is what Obama does. If anybody ought to be under the microscope, it's Obama. Obama's tamping down expectations. Obama's ratcheting up fear. Obama's the guy whose foreign policy is falling apart. Obama's the guy who's watching our economy disintegrate. Obama's the guy whose policies are making it tougher and tougher and tougher for excellence to matter in one's pursuit of life.

Mitt Romney hasn't done anything to anybody.

I happen to know that Romney wants for this country the same thing I want. When he talks to his donors about these 47% that are locked into Obama, he does it with disappointment, sadness, and maybe a little disgust. Where everybody analyzing this is wrong is he would love to be able to reach them. He has not written them off. He's telling his donors various things, but I do not believe he's written them off.
I've spoken to Mitt Romney a number of times, and I don't believe he's written them off, despite how it sounds. But if he has, it's time to forget that. If he has written 'em off, this is an opportunity to educate 'em. This is an opportunity to inspire 'em. This is an opportunity to tell them, if he's Mitt Romney, what he wants for them. This is it. It's sitting there on a silver platter. It is right there. It's ready for the taking.
But he's gotta be able to do it.

He's gotta have consultants who are fearless and will let him do it. These consultants! These people put shackles on these guys and try to get 'em to make sure they don't make a mistake when they go out and speak, and look what happens. Essentially, if you go back, Romney has been saying this in different ways throughout the campaign. You know, Obama is the guy who's written off voters. We've got the column. What was that guy's name? Edsall. November 2011.

He wrote a piece for the New York Times. The Obama campaign has written off "white, working-class voters." He's written 'em off. Now, there's no tape of Obama saying so. But there's a column of one of Obama's supporters saying that that's what the campaign's doing. And it's been buttressed a couple of other times, and it's clearly factually correct when you watch the Obama campaign. He's declared war on anybody making over $200,000 a year.

Obama's out attacking achievement. Obama's out attempting to stigmatize anybody that has succeeded and is calling them the enemy. Where's the outrage over that? We have all of what Romney said. I'm gonna play it so you can hear it. We've got it all. And, of course, I will be able to put it all in context and perspective for you with the correct reaction, and I'll share with you other reactions to it. There's a piece in the Weekly Standard. A bunch of conservatives are dumping on Romney.

It's how he's blown it, how he shouldn'ta said it, how it's all wrong and da-da-da. So I'll tell you what they're saying, and you might think the same thing. We'll find out what you think, of course, at some point in the program when we go to phones. Again, the telephone number: 800-282-2882. But this whole objective... (interruption) Well, no, they're not saying the 47% don't exist. They do exist.
What they're trying to say is that Romney has written 'em off, that Romney looks at them with disdain. Romney looks at them as a bunch of lazy takers and there's no way to reach 'em, and that's who Obama wants. And he's telling his donors -- the spin is that he's telling his donors -- there's no way he can reach those people. "They're a bunch of slackers. There's no way I'm gonna be able to reach 'em; I'm not even gonna try. I'm going to go a different way."

They're trying to fill the narrative that Republicans don't care; that Republicans are cold-hearted, mean-spirited, extremist bastards that don't care about the poor. That's what they're trying to say that Romney's comments prove. That's why Romney has to get out there, take this by the horns, turn it into a positive, and go right for those people since they're now listening. Especially if they think they've been insulted -- even better!

This is the time to go talk to 'em.

Anyway, it's so easy when I do it, isn't it?

good for them!

(Not quite sure if they should have been doing this in uniform, but seeing as how they may be blown to bits, I say, "Let them have fun.)

This is the most puke inducing video ever made...

Obama touting his "Catholic" friends, quoting scripture, and pledging his undying devotion to Jesus.

Guess what, Obama?  God doesn't like you killing babies, you moral illiterate.

Any person who calls themselves Catholic and votes for Obama is about the same as me calling myself a zucchini.  And don't pull out the old "I must go with my conscience" carp.  God demands that you properly form your conscience.

God judges most harshly on how we treat our fellow man.  If you are part of a group that misleads others into voting for the most pro-abortion president in history, you should fear for your soul.

And that vast cadre of "Catholic" bloggers who have their heads planted firmly in the sand insisting that everything is hunky-dory, and denigrate anyone who claims there may be a tiny problem in some of the Church leadership are also leading people astray.

The Church will survive.  God promised the gates of hell will not prevail.  Can you say the same thing about yourself?

What language could have been better?...

truth will always win!

Professor thinks Romney could have used "better language" when he spoke at a private fundraiser several months ago, although he agrees with the sentiments expressed by Mr. Romney.

The original video and Mitt Romny's response can be viewed here .

You know what the real problem in this country is?  People afraid to tell the truth because it might "offend" someone.  I call it my "Let's cut through the crap and get to the real issue."

Mitt Romney didn't call people names.

He simply stated a fact.

And what is the problem with that?

Sometimes the truth hurts...

too bad!

A solution for dirty dishes...

my dishwasher is running and it's getting my dishes clean.

Want to know why?

Glad you asked.

A small back-story first.

I've never been a fan of dishwashers.  For two people, I'd just as soon wash the dishes and put them away.  It has a finality about it.

Hubby loves the dishwasher.  So when he cleans up, dishes go in the dishwasher. When I clean up, they get washed and put away. Hence, the dishwasher was run about once per week.

Several weeks ago, I noticed the dishes were not very clean.  The glasses were so cloudy and spotted I took them all out of the cupboard and washed them by hand.  It took about a week for the light bulb moment to occur.  I grabbed our brand new bottle of Kirkland Signature automatic dish washing soap and saw the fatal words:  Contains no phosphates.

WTHell!!

Idaho hasn't banned phosphates in dish soap.  As a matter of fact, our local grocery stores were doing a booming business selling dish soap to our Washington neighbors because they did ban such soap.  I guess since 27 states have banned phosphates, the manufacturers figured it wasn't worth it to make two formulas.

Statist bureaucrats were led to believe by some greenie-weenie activists that phosphates cause algae growth in the rivers.  No never mind that most of it is filtered out before hitting the water.  Want to know where the real problem is?  Fertilizers.  Or, I should say, improper use of fertilizers.  You know, the ones that these very same statists are allowing to be dumped in huge quantities on their golf courses.

The upside is it has spurred the creation of a whole new line of products.  Rinsing agents for your dishwasher are lined up 20 deep on grocery store shelves.  Some of these agents are so great they melt the logos off your souvenir cups.

And don't for one little second think you're going to kink the system by buying TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) at the hardware store and adding a bit to your soap dispenser.  Read the small print on the label - TSP contains no phosphate.  What?

But I have a solution and I'll share it with you.

Can you say

*ReStockIt??

ReStockIt sells Cascade for institutional use that includes phosphates.  It does indeed get your dishes clean because restaurants and nursing homes need to have clean dishes.  You and I?  Not so much.

I ordered my Cascade (after clicking a little box saying it was for industrial use), on a Sunday evening and the following day it was on my doorstep.  How did they do that??

The Result?

After being forced to hand wash my dishes for a period of time, my entire attitude changed.  No longer do I wish to hand wash dishes.  Ever!  I pile so much stuff in my dishwasher now, we're running the dang thing almost every day.  All the white film on my glasses is gone, the inside of my dishwasher is not coated, and my dishes sparkle.

* I receive no monetary compensation from ReStockIt.  I'm just doing this as public service for all those who wish to have clean dishes.   I purchased a case of six (large) boxes for $54.99.  If you can't use that much, share it with your friends.  Phosphates have a shelf life of about one year.
