let's start with dead children which is always an uplifting and cheery subject.
So far, two 14 year old children in Marysville, WA have been killed by another 14 year old child, who then killed himself bringing the death toll to three. Two more are in critical condition, and my guess is that both will either die, or be permanently disabled, since they sustained shots to the head. Another one is in serious condition. The oldest victim is 15 years old.
Notice how fast it dropped off the radar of worthy news items? Move along everyone; nothing to see here anymore. Oh, it will pop up here and there with progress reports on the remaining victims, but overall, it's a dead issue.
Of course, the gun control people are all up in arms (pun intended) wondering why a mere "child" had access to a gun. Child?
Here's the story in the short form: Shooter is dumped by his girlfriend who decides to date the shooter's cousin instead. Shooter is an angst ridden 14 year old who, according to pundits, is a "typical" 14 year old who feels more deeply, and is unable to control his pain and frustration due to his age. He walks into the cafeteria of his high school and proceeds to shoot the ex-girlfriend in the head, the cousin who stole her away, and several "friends" who he obviously feels also betrayed him. Ex-girlfriend dies at the scene, girl who was friend dies a few days later, and the other three, including the girlfriend stealing cousin, are in critical to serious condition.
When the MSM finally published the pictures of the "children" involved, I was dumbstruck. These are 14 year old children? The girls, all three of them, are outstandingly beautiful and look years older than 14. Their Facebook pictures are highly sexualized and immodest. Several of them sport nose or lip rings which a young person cannot get without a parent's permission.
The boy's pics, all of whom are above average in the looks department, are raunchy, showing off their naked upper bodies and flashing gang signs.
There is no doubt in my mind that these "children" are all sexually active, and probably have been so since they were 12 or 13.
Would any of this had happened if they had been held to higher standards by their parents? Why are 14 year-olds dating? What parent allows their 14 year old daughter to flaunt her breasts in provocative poses making silly duck lips in an effort to look sexy in publicly posted pictures - or any pictures at all? Why the hell are they dressed like tiny little hookers? Why are the boys acting like street thugs?
Get this straight; I'm not blaming the victims. I'm blaming the parents and the whole degraded culture we now live in that would consider it normal for children to behave in such a way. No dating, no sex, no hooker clothes and gang signs equals no angst strong enough to drive a child to kill.

Another outrage is off the front pages because it doesn't fit the narrative:

How many of the illegals residing in our country and soaking up the benefits provided by our law- abiding tax-paying citizens will be "legalized" after the elections by Odumbo? More degrading of what's barely left of our culture.
Speaking of degraded:
Wendy Davis, aka Abortion Barbie, who never met a dead baby she didn't like, and who stands to set some sort of record for losing an election, takes pot-shots at her opponent, Greg Abbott, who is paralyzed and also allows people who are stumping for her to say things like this:
“And then we have this guy who kind of
just rolls around thinking that he can get tort reform for himself but
take it away from everybody else in the state of Texas,” said state
representative Dawnna Dukes at the event which was held Saturday in
Pflugerville, just east of Austin. source
Dawnna? What the hell kind of name is that?

Lois Capps, 76 years old, has been hanging around for 16 (sixteen!!) years. Her website is filled with all the usual boiler plate crap on how she's going to "fix" every thing that's wrong with the country. Give it up Lois. You've had 16 years to fix crap. Go home and play with your great-grand children and leave us the hell alone.

When I was in my early 20's, I had a very influential and well connected older friend, both in politics, business, and, well, "other areas." Surmise what you will.
This very savvy person held contempt for pretentious people who demeaned things about which they knew nothing, much as I do now. Now a days, you'll find the same types sitting around some effete little coffee house drinking soy lattes made with "organic" ingredients spouting socialist ideas as though they invented them.
Many times, he would have to entertain the so-called elitists of Houston, Texas and one of his favorite things was to move the conversation around to "country" music and listen to the wails of how low class country music was, and only trailer trash listened to that crap.
Amidst the hoo-ha coming from this educated beyond their intelligence hoard, he would pull out his guitar and sing a country ditty to illustrate their points. Using the most common chord progression of G, C, and D, a strummy strumm
y style, and singing in the most twangy imitation of popular country artists, he would sing the words of the tomorrow soliloquy.
When finished, as expected, the idiots would hoot and holler and declare this proof of the ridiculous lyrics of country music.
Sometimes he told them. Other times he didn't.
So, not only do I love the soliloquy for what it means, but also for what it proves.

will come to an end soon, a month say, maybe sooner. Yep, ies like
that. Gone. Why? Well, it's been fun. I've enjoyed doing it. I'll miss
it. But I won't miss it enough to keep doing it for ten more years. And
I've put off other things long enough. So it's time for ol' Remus to tap
the dottle from his pipe, get his coat 'n hat and go back to where he

one challenges the existing order. Distractions–bread, circuses,
welfare, football, whatever–have always been useful for those who don’t
want anyone looking too closely at how they do things.
