CPAC, School Shootings, and Fake News...

 the world is going mad.

I'm not going to spend my entire day worrying about the dust up at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) over Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit being called a Nazi and being kicked off a panel on free speech.  Think about that for a moment.

Pamala Geller, who organized the panel, had quite a bit to say about the issue:

Pamela Geller, Breitbart: CPAC Joins the Leftist Social Media Giants in Censoring Conservatives

Many times in the past I've brought up the fact that Gateway Pundit is not too careful about what it prints.  And if it does print something in the heat of the moment to boost their already overwhelming page views, they make no effort to correct the falsehood.  Why bother.  In today's overheated 24/7, over reported, and short attention span culture, everyone has moved on to other stories in a matter of hours.

However, calling Jim Hoft a Nazi is a bit over the top and certainly would qualify as fake news.

And then we have MassResistance being dis-invited at the last moment from being an exhibitor at CPAC.
Why would a group or speaker be banned? CPAC Executive Director Dan Schneider said he rescinded our participation due to our uncivil discourse. He was “uncomfortable” with our tone. CPAC has been telling our supporters who call that we “lack common decency.” Several of our supporters were even told that our group encourages violence against gays! That is libelous. We’ve never done anything of the sort. source (good article)
Mass Resistance is considered "uncivil" because they dare to say that homosexuality is dangerous and unhealthy.

Other than some professional seminars where attendees can gain some new knowledge and hobnob with like minded people, I find CPAC (which I had never even heard of until I started blogging) is more of a see and be seen, getting to wear a phony press pass, and feeling all important by being cozy with a bunch of peeps who couldn't care less about you and will forget your name 10 seconds after meeting you.  I've also heard the after hours activities are quite lively too.  Smirk.

Shooting Survivor: CNN Gave Me "Scripted Question" After Denying Question About Armed Guards

And the "ladies who march" are all up in arms (no pun intended) over gun control to keep kids safe.  You know, the kids who escaped the abortionists suction hose or scalpel.  The irony hurts.

Allow me to add, that barring a complete turn around in our culture, the only way to keep schools safer is to have armed guards or armed teachers, and not by taking guns away from law abiding citizens.

May I also add that the only president to actually try to do something positive is Donald J. Trump - you know, "not your president" if you're a libtard!

War on Police

Another police officer was killed trying to do his job.  That makes 14 police officers killed by gunfire in 2018.

Want to stop this assault on police officers?

Simple.

Make it an automatic death penalty case with no plea bargaining allowed if you kill a cop.  If convicted - you die.

CPAC and GoProud...

or don't be surprised if you invite a snake into your tent and it bites you.

OK - I admit that's probably a bit uncharitable, but it points up a problem with GoProud being a sponsor at CPAC.

For the past few weeks, conservative bloggers have used every means possible to justify GoProud - a group of people who self-identify by the manner in which they engage in sex, being included as a sponsor (or whatever) at CPAC.  Some of these bloggers have derided the groups that have chosen to not take the third leg off of Reagan's stool, which is social issues.  As long as GoProud proclaimed fiscal conservatism, we were to ignore the fact that they, allow me say this again, self-identify by the manner in which they have sex.

If the people of CPAC think a self-professed group of homosexuals is a good match, what's going to happen next year if groups such as "Fiscal Conservatives for Abortion" or "Polygamists for Economic Conservatism" wish to attend?   How about "Unwed Mothers on Welfare for Responsible Government"?  Granted, those examples are on the absurd side, but it points out that social issues are not separate from economic issues.

GoProud is a group of people whose sole goal is to subvert the core institutions of our culture.  They do not want equal rights, they want special rights.  And layered on top of this is their need for society as a whole to approve of their lifestyle.

Can you really say that a group who supports forced tolerance by indoctrination of children in schools,  repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, and forced hiring practices, is the kind of group that should be welcome at CPAC?

While I can appreciate the attendees of CPAC wanting to be inclusive and welcoming, it is really nothing more than furthering the goals of the homosexual agenda.  It is giving tacit approval to a lifestyle that is physically and emotionally unwholesome and unhealthy, as well as morally unsound.

The individuals that belong to this group are more than welcome at a conservative gathering.  A "group" that identifies, say it together folks, by the manner in which they engage in sex, should not.

From Erik Erickson of Red State

This is Too Much For Me

[...]I have, for me, shown an amazing amount of restraint in keeping my mouth shut on an issue about which I can stay silent no longer — GOProud and CPAC.

[...]As someone who spent time trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I accept this as conclusive proof that, while it is a Republican organization, GOProud is not a conservative organization. read the rest
That's what happens when you "go along to get along," Erik

Excerpt from letter to CPAC from co-signing organizations American Values, Liberty Counsel and the National Organization for Marriage
[...]We have examined closely GOProud’s mission and its behavior since its inception, and can only conclude that the organization’s purposes are fundamentally incompatible with a movement that has long embraced the ideals of family and faith in a thriving civil society.
Needless to say, we are deeply persuaded that a thriving civil society is an indispensable bulwark against the relentless expansion of government, a phenomenon that has gripped much of the Western world and helped to fuel the present fiscal and economic crisis. read the entire letter

My favorite phone buddy, Peter (daTechguy) has been let loose at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference.)  First day out and his blog is packed solid with great interviews, videos, and enticing pictures of the cannoli he smuggled onto the plane.

Joining him with coverage is Smitty and Stacy McCain.  Smitty is live blogging and getting ready to post pictures.  I'm definitely going next year!!!

CPAC and Palin w/ Update

From Politico:  Palin's tea party raises eyebrows

Reeeeaaly?  And why?? I'm really tired of the so-called conservatives of this country bashing Palin for her decision to not speak at the CPAC conference.  Judging by the behavior of certain attendees at the last one, I wouldn't speak there either.

And why the outrage at her charging a speakers fee?   Why the heck shouldn't she?  Life is not a series of volunteerism or charity.  If conservatives believe what they say then they should not only pay her fee but double it.

And besides, for what it's worth - a bunch of people, spending beau coup money, to gather together and pat each others backs, is a complete and utter waste of resources.  Conferences rank right up there with "meetings."  A waste of time!

Update:
