Ginger White and Kimberly Vay lesbian lovers?... w/Update

that would be a big no.

Trust, but verify!

Not too long ago a lady by the name of Laura Reddy of ABC news published an article that included a sentence that no writer worth his/her salt should ever have written.  Due to really crappy writing, it gave some people the idea that Ms. White and Ms. Vay had engaged in a 13 year lesbian affair.  If you had read the article in context, you would have never walked away with that conclusion.

Subsequently, the original article at ABC was changed to more accurately reflect what the author was trying to say.  No where in the re-written article was there any indication that anything had been changed.  That is not only dishonest but really sloppy "journalism."

New and "improved" version:

The female bodybuilder who once ran a bicycle business with latest Herman Cain accuser Ginger White says the Atlanta woman never mentioned the Republican presidential candidate, who she says was her lover for 13 years.
"His name has never come up," said Kimberly Vay, who told ABC News that she and White were former business partners. link
But in the meantime, numerous sites (mostly conservative) picked up this slanderous meme and it just kept getting lathered, rinsed, and repeated.

Several of these sites have revised their articles to more accurately reflect the truth.  Most have not.  But the damage has been done.  And the biggest damage done is to the credibility of the  bloggers who didn't bother to "trust, but verify."

Update:
Saturday, December 3rd 7:30 PST

Allow me to clarify my statement about the two ladies in question not being lesbian lovers to read:  There is no credible source stating these ladies were lesbian lovers.   Until there is, we should not be reporting it as true.

Cain: Predatory Black Sexuality. Told you so...

that didn't take long.

Earlier today on my Cain post about the newest accusations I said,
"And, really - the visuals of a crazy out-of-control black man after a  lily-white blond is almost laughable.  Wonder what would have happened if Bill Clinton was banging a black woman in the oval office."
 From the Blaze:
The ever-controversial left-wing author and MSNBC contributor TourĂ© had some choice words about Republican frontrunner Herman Cain on Martin Bashir’s program Monday. Discussing the topic of Cain’s newest accuser, TourĂ© wondered how the GOP would react now that Cain’s is “harassing” a blonde, as opposed to black women — which he asserted could only be a result of Cain’s inherent “predatory black sexuality.”
“We’re going to see how open the GOP is to this black — their ‘new black friend’ when they find out he is harassing blonde women as opposed to black women. That sort of thing of black sexuality — predatory black sexuality. Very frightening in this country, still. Very threatening. So we’ll see how that plays out.”  source
Hey, dope.  You're the one bringing up "predatory black sexuality" - not us.

Herman Cain accuser...

makes statement.

I visited TMZ where 99.9% of the commenters think the story is a load of poo.  I think we can all agree that TMZ could not be called a partisan political site.

What do I think?  Glad you asked.

If that ridiculous statement is the best this out-of-work woman can come up with, the men of this country are in big trouble. According to her she's just doing her civic duty and standing up for the rights of women everywhere.  How noble of her.

Let me clue you in Ms. Bialek to some facts of life.  Even if your story had a whiff of credibility, it means the worse thing we could say about Herman Cain is he made a pass at a woman who sent major signals of availability.  Before anyone accuses me of blaming the "victim" we're not talking about anything that amounts to more than a guy making a pass at a woman.  Grow up, Ms. Bialek.  It goes on all the time.

Credible accusations don't need to be presented at press conferences with Gloria Allred standing at your side.   And, really - the visuals of crazy out-of-control black man after lily-white blond is almost laughable.  Wonder what would have happened if Bill Clinton was banging a black woman in the oval office.

Herman Cain's campaign contributions set to hit all time high this afternoon...

thanks to Gloria Allred.

From Rador:

A new woman alleging sexual harassment by presidential hopeful Herman Cain will break her silence at a news conference with her powerhouse attorney Gloria Allred Monday afternoon in New York City, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The embattled GOP nominee has admitted that several women who worked at the National Restaurant Association during his tenure as president of the organization received settlements. Politico has reported that the settlements were given because of sexual harassment allegations.  source
Well, sheesh.  My fears have been put to rest now that I know Gloria Allred, that bastion of truth and justice, is on the case. /sarc

Gingrich/Cain Debate is a go...

should be good.

Maggie, over at her Notebook, has details.  I hope they find someone to televise it.  I'm not sure Cain can hold his own against Gingrich.  What do you think?

Cain Gingrich Debate Nov. 5: Texas Tea Party Patriots Sponsor Gingrich Cain Debate
Texas Tea Party Patriots are sponsoring a debate between presidential hopefuls Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich on November 5th. Now, that’s what I’m talkin’ about. Congressman Steve King (R-IA) will be one of the moderators. Here’s how Newt described the offer from the Texas Tea Party Patriots:   read the rest

Art Laffer on 9-9-9...

as always, sometimes the best information is in the comments.

Let's turn  a question around and contemplate the answer.  If our present system operated on 9-9-9, would you throw it out in favor of the 71K pages of tax code we have now?  I'm not supporting or not supporting Mr. Cain's plan.  I am saying that the present tax situation needs to be fixed.

From WSJ:

Cain's Stimulating '9-9-9' Tax Reform

It used to be that the sole purpose of the tax code was to raise the necessary funds to run government. But in today's world the tax mandate has many more facets. These include income redistribution, encouraging favored industries, and discouraging unfavorable behavior.
To make matters worse there are millions and millions of taxpayers who are highly motivated to reduce their tax liabilities. And, as those taxpayers finagle and connive to find ways around the tax code, government responds by propagating new rules, new interpretations of the code, and new taxes in a never-ending chase. In the process, we create ever-more arcane tax codes that do a poor job of achieving any of their mandates.  read the rest

Bottom Feeders...

Ever notice the people who consider themselves the "99%" are mostly failures who love to blame someone else?

Highlights from Herman Cain's speech at the Value Voters Summit:

A little bedtime tale:

While cruising around Facebook looking at the Occupy Coeur d' Alene event page, I decided to take a gander at the people who had confirmed their attendance.  Lo and behold, who do I see but a high school kid (actually, almost all the attendees are high school kids) who I recognized.

I slipped over to his page and was greeted with pictures of him posed in front of hammer and sickle flags and the person listed as being the most influential for him is Vladamir Lenin.  I'm acquainted with his parents, who are both teachers at North Idaho College.  Mom teaches philosophy and dad teaches ethics.  Hmmmmmm.  Bet those classes are interesting.

This spawn of liberal professors would like to see everything free for everyone, starting, of course, with free higher education.  No mention of how his parents might collect their combined salaries of approximately 150K for teaching six to seven hours per week if no one pays to attend.  In many areas of the country, that is not a large salary, but in North Idaho it affords a pretty comfy life.

Before anyone jumps in here and brings up the issue of all the grading and such these professors have to do on their own time, allow me to mention neither of them assign homework or even make attending class mandatory.  As one reviewer on the "rate my professor site" said, "Easy class, easy pass."

This boy believes corporations are evil, and should be smashed and replaced with something or other.  No one has actually defined exactly what that "something" is.   And since the occupiers all think corporations are not "people", I'm not quite sure how they can be evil.  It would be like calling a computer evil because you can access porn by way of its magical pixels.

So this little Marxist wannabe stumbles around demanding "stuff" with no concept of where it will come from.   Gee, wonder who turned him on to Lenin.  His parents must be proud. No, really - they're proud.

Is Barack Obama a Bad Man...

or just a tool?

It is any wonder a man like Barack Hussein Obama would be elected in a society where being a "fan" of someone has become the norm?  What sort of people would feel the need to slavishly follow such a weak and perverted person?  There is a difference between admiring someone because of their real accomplishments in the world of academics, religion, arts, or entertainment, and the blind allegiance to a person whose only accomplishment is being a good liar.

Update:

Videos up and running...

Break for Announcement

As most of you know by now Blogger has been down since yesterday.  It's been very peaceful.   This is the post I was working on when things went south.  I was at least smart enough to copy and paste the entire post into Word.  Turned out to be a very good decision.

Now YouTube is acting up and I can't get to the videos I posted.  Sigh...

Back to original post from May 12th, approximately 12:30pm PDT ...

For two days in a row, my Google Reader has been bulging at the seams.  I keep bringing it back to zero and 4 hours later it's back up to a number that rivals the amount of the national debt.  Most of it consists of one blogger after another repeating what some other blogger is repeating from some other blogger, and on and on.

Over the past few months, I've tried to limit posting to items that (IMO) 1. need to be known, 2. if I have something to add that's already known, or 3.  if something catches my eye, which could easily be a LOL kitteh, that seems to be an important issue.  In most cases, like now, I really have nothing to add so I'll leave it to the other hyper-bloggers to report.

But......................I still have some other thoughts (you could almost smell this coming, couldn't you?):

Last night we had rehearsal at church for Confirmation .  One girl showed up in teeny, tiny short-shorts that left little to the imagination. Hello?  Where is mom and dad?  Or how about the sponsor saying, "not on my watch."  Just sayin'.

And then we had to hear all the best catch phrases that have infiltrated the Church, i.e. community, family, and fellowship.  Not necessarily bad words, just words being badly used.

Bet I'm on the wrong side of this issue...

Blue did a recap of the LSU flag burning brouhaha.  He ventured no opinion either for or against. From what I've read on the subject, the pro-flag folks acted just as reprehensibly as that fellow who, not being able to obtain a permit to burn, was only going to read a statement.  Just suppose for a moment that no one showed up to hear the statement.  Would it have mattered?  Chasing him around and throwing crap at him and screaming obscenities was not very productive.  Don't those spoiled  kids have finals to study for?
While I agree with standing up for our principles, it does not include acting as stupidly as the loony left. To do so means they've won.

Reaganite Republican posted more thoughts on Donald Trump.  I applaud RR's willingness to stand up for what he believes. Part of his post consists of statements Trump made in New Hampshire, and if taken at face value, if they indeed represent the truth of who Trump is, he has my vote (if he even runs.)

Newt Gingrich?  Well, ol' Newt highlights what I think is a huge problem with many folks of the older generation.  These people have no lives or interests other than their chosen profession - in this case, politics.  If they did, they would be all too happy to retire and do some fun things.  And why is politics considered a "profession" anyway?

I guess Mitt Romney is declaring Obamacare a disaster waiting to happen, but Romneycare is A-ok, or something.  He went so far as to say he "wouldn’t apologize for the healthcare plan he installed during his time in office." As the kids say, "whatever."

Some weird company has conjured up an "Obama as Navy Seal" action figure doll.  Problem is, it has Moochelle's body and Obama's head.  Navy Seals should be speechless with anger and embarrassment to see a man who has not even done any armed service time, and wouldn't know an M-16 from an arugala, duded up like a Navy Seal.  Creative Minority Report brings up another problem with the doll.

In Minnesota, a constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage took a decisive step Wednesday toward ending up on the 2012 ballot.  During the debates, openly gay Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis,  showed a picture of himself and his partner, Richard, and emotionally asked, "what is so different about us?"   Really?  You have to ask?

Republican Mother brings up some good points:  Herman Cain, Really?

Much work and research went into her post and it should be widely read.

As I said in my comment on her post (cue the racist accusations in 3....2.....1...)
I'm with you. Something doesn't "feel" right about this adoration of Cain.
Another thought (definitely not PC) - don't you think it's a bit obvious to run a black against Obama? It's like buying into the whole, "I'm not racist, some of best friends are blacks" shtick.
We live in a country that is about 12% black and all we can find to run for president are two black guys?

Calling Out Marxism in the Church

Anyone Catholic who doesn't believe Marxists have infiltrated the Church is not paying attention, and is engaging in willing suspension of disbelief, or employing normalcy bias.
