March for Life Washington, DC...

January 23, 2012

Last year, it was estimated that 400,000 people gathered in Washington, DC to proclaim the right to life.  I have a feeling that tomorrow's attendance will break all records.  These hearty travelers from all corners of the country will attend 3 days of activities, beginning yesterday.  They will attend Masses and church services and pray together.  Tomorrow they will march in unison for the stopping of the killing of innocent lives.  They will not break windows, throw objects at police officers, or curse at bystanders.  They will leave the Washington Mall spotless and unharmed.

Speaker of the House John Boehner will deliver opening remarks at the 39th annual March for Life in Washington on Monday, January 23, 2012.
“Respect for life has never been a political position for me: it’s who I am, and it’s who we are as a people,” Congressman Boehner said. “The cause of life endures in large part due to the vigilance of the American people, especially those who, led by Nellie Gray, march and pray in our nation’s capital each year at this time. It will be a great honor to address the March for Life as Speaker of the House and leader of its bipartisan pro-life majority.”

In San Francisco on Friday, a few hundred occupests threw Bibles and rocks at the police. They broke windows of businesses, illegally entered into an abandoned hotel, and blocked traffic, which hampered hard-working tax-paying citizens who were going about their daily tasks.  Their voices joined together to spew hatred and vileness.  In all, there were 23 arrests and two police officers injured.

In Washington, D.C., 11 people forced confrontations with police.  They were arrested on the steps of the Supreme Court House and on the plaza, while another person was arrested inside the courthouse for unlawful entry.   In every city that had a demonstration on Friday, the numbers were low, but the destruction, mess, and mayhem was high.  source

This is what our president stands behind.

Any questions?

Quote of the Day

From: Tom McLaughlin

Borrowing, Abortion, Obama

[...]There's a critical mass of Americans that won’t take responsibility for the human life it conceives and it loves Barack Obama. It’s made up of men whose view of sex is “Slam, bam, thank you m’am. Oh, you're pregnant? Here’s $500 for an abortion.” It’s made up of women who would sacrifice their own children in the name of “liberation.” These are the Americans who would continue borrowing indiscriminately from the future to keep their unsustainable benefits flowing as long as possible. Obama helps them all feel good about themselves. They voted him into the White House and they will again unless an opponent emerges who can persuade them to take a long, honest look at themselves.  read the entire article

Occupests and other stuff...

that caught my eye.

Occupy Wall Street - Short version:

So I guess the occupests in NY were thrown out of the park they have befouled (top five videos of the eviction if you really, really want to see them) and then some whacko judge said they could go back to squatting.

How about the rights of the business owners and people who live around that park?

Urban Infidel is covering the press conference of the business owners against occupests in Zucotti Park and will be bringing us more video today.   Press Conference: New Yorkers and Local Business Owners Against OWS Zucotti Square Squatters

More Stuff:
American Thinker:  Generational Wealth Gap is an interesting read.  I guess older people have more money than younger people.  Seems about right.  Older people have had more time to accumulate money, don't tend to over-spend, and have mastered the art of delayed gratification.  Spend some time listening to Dave Ramsey on the radio.  Somehow or another it has become "normal" to have tens of thousands of dollars of credit card debt, buy a house you can't afford, and drive a big honking SUV with $500.00 a month payments.

The Blaze:   Philly Archbishop: America Is Becoming ‘Much Less Friendly to Christian Faith’ Than Ever Before  Archbishop Chaput, warns about the war on Christianity and a bunch of Blaze readers take the opportunity to bash Catholics.  So predictable.

Why ObamaCare is Unconstitutional

ObamaCare and the Limits of Government
The Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether ObamaCare is constitutional, granting certiorari in a case brought by 26 states shortly after that law was enacted in March of last year. In so doing, it will be ruling upon the very nature of our federal union.

The Constitution limits federal power by granting Congress authority in certain defined areas, such as the regulation of interstate and foreign commerce. Those powers not specifically vested in the federal government by the Constitution or, as stated in the 10th Amendment, "prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." The court will now determine whether those words still have meaning.  read the rest

Will the occupiers whack each other over the 500K?...

I'm popping corn and grabbing a front row seat.

A Chill Descends On Occupy Wall Street; "The Leaders of the allegedly Leaderless Movement"
On Sunday, October 23, a meeting was held at 60 Wall Street. Six leaders discussed what to do with the half-million dollars that had been donated to their organization, since, in their estimation, the organization was incapable of making sound financial decisions. The proposed solution was not to spend the money educating their co-workers or stimulating more active participation by improving the organization’s structures and tactics. Instead, those present discussed how they could commandeer the $500,000 for their new, more exclusive organization. No, this was not the meeting of any traditional influence on Wall Street. These were six of the leaders of Occupy Wall Street (OWS).
Occupy Wall Street’s Structure Working Group (WG) has created a new organization called the Spokes Council. “Teach-ins” were held to workshop and promote the Spokes Council throughout the week of October 22-28. I attended the teach-in on Sunday the 23rd.
According to Marisa Holmes, one of the most outspoken and influential leaders of OWS, the NYC-GA started receiving donations from around the world when OWS began on September 17. Because the NYC-GA was not an official organization, and therefore could not legally receive thousands of dollars in donations, the nonprofit Alliance for Global Justice helped OWS create Friends of Liberty Plaza, which receives tax-free donations for OWS. Since then, Friends of Liberty Plaza has received over $500,000. Until October 28, anybody who wanted to receive more than $100 from Friends of Liberty Plaza had to go through the often arduous modified consensus process (90% majority) of the NYC-GA—which, despite its well-documented inefficiencies, granted $25,740 to the Media WG for live-stream equipment on October 12, and $1,400 to the Food and Medical WGs for herbal tonics on October 18.   read the rest

Rudy Giuliani...

on the occupests.

Rudy Giuliani at the Defending the American Dream Summit:
"I believe that Barack Obama owns the Occupy Wall Street movement," Rudy Giuliani said at the Defending the American Dream Summit. "It would not have happened, it would not have happened but for his class warfare. And remember, as it gets worse and worse because it's going to get worse and worse, where it came from. Barack Obama. He praised it. He supported it. He agrees with it. He sympathizes with it. And as it gets worse and worse, I believe this will be the millstone around Barack Obama's neck that will take his presidency down."

"How about you occupy a job. How about working? Working. I know that's tough."

Occupy Oakland gets gnarly...

and I have one question.

Rather then having to repeat myself over and over in combox after combox allow me to state it just once more.  Consider this the official comment to all the wonderful people I frequent.

Why is this being allowed to continue?

These filthy criminals are trampling on the rights of every law abiding citizen of Oakland and wherever else they are spreading their filth.  They are destroying businesses, raping, taking illegal drugs, stealing, and costing the tax-payers millions and millions of dollars.

And a little message to all of you who dared to compare this abomination of behavior called Occupy Wall Street to the Tea Party movement.  Pound sand!

Planned Parenthood Teams Up With Occupy Wall St. Movement

 why am I not surprised.
Yesterday Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, joined a coalition of left-wing groups in Florida to protest pro-life Republican Governor Rick Scott and to show support for the larger Occupy Wall Street movement taking place nationwide.

Awake the State, which organized the rally, was accompanied by Planned Parenthood and Occupy Orlando at Senator Beth Johnson Park to stand “in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the larger Occupy movement against corporate greed and control over government.”  read the rest

Occupy Wall Street...

now I finally understand what they've been trying to tell us.

Many thanks to Always On Watch for posting this and making my day.

 March for Equality

A march around banks in downtown Coeur d' Alene followed by a rally at McEuen Field to protest our broken economic and political system. We'll meet at Sherman Park and then march towards Wells Fargo and US Bank.

Three attending.  Two maybe attending. Do three people qualify for rally status?  Well - it is North Idaho (Northern Idaho to non-residents.)

Open Letter To #OWS "Revolutionaries"

Dear "Occupy" People,

This may come as a surprise to you, but when most people hear you, all we hear is a strange, alien shriek that starts with "No Fair!"  and ends with "Gimme!"

We hear: "I made bad choices, didn't think things through, never even imagined that everything wouldn't go exactly as I wanted it to.  So now that I have student loans I signed for and can't pay back (because I can't find a job I think worthy of my awesomeness), I want someone else to pay." read the rest

Diary from OWS...

Odie, the Woodsterman, left this in the combox:
If you have a chance, get over to Inno's and read his latest on this. You'll laugh so hard you'll cry.
He was right. Warning:  Keep your mouth free of all liquids.

Below the fold is a transcript of an Occutard's iPhone video diary.  Like everything else about OWS, it is vile and offensive and those with delicate sensibilities should consider not reading it.

Day 1
I just arrived at the occupation after a long train ride from Bakersfield.  There isn't much of an OccupyBakersfield - just a couple guys on Harleys drinking beer.  Which really isn't any different from any other day in Bakersfield.  So I took the train up here.  And let me tell you, dude, it is awesome!  Communists and anarchists all together living in perfect harmony!  This is what the future looks like, man!   read the rest

It's Thursday...

what's going on.

Dave Ramsey talks to OWS peeps:

Yesterday (Wed., Oct. 19), Dave Ramsey devoted his entire radio show to OWS.  He urged protesters to phone in and explain exactly what it was they wanted.  It was very informative and often hilarious to listen to Dave question these people and uncover how little they actually know about what they're demanding.   I was only able to hear bits and pieces as I went about my errands so I have it replaying now (and the more I listen the better it gets.)   You can listen to the archive of the show here.

I'm out of touch...

really, really out of touch.

I'm reading this article at Hot Air about the OWS peeps having things stolen (who would of thought.)  A girl complained about her Mac worth 5K being snatched.  Whoa - wait a minute.  FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a computer?  I had to go to the Mac site to see that, yes indeedy, you can purchase a Mac Pro for $4,999,00.  This gal who had her wealth "redistributed" is 18 years old and she has a FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR (sorry for shouting) computer lifted while complaining about rich people.  Doesn't that strike you as odd?

Here's the deal.  I don't have a Mac Pro, and my husband doesn't have one, either.  We deserve to have Mac Pros.  So in the interest of equality and fairness, we demand that the occupiers dip into their 300k stash (where did that money come from and how is it going to be used and, good Lord - is it in a bank?) and buy us Mac Pros. And while you're dipping, we could use an iphone, a Kindle, and some new clothes.

Meantime:

Harry Reid thinks it's a good idea to throw out another 35 billion or so to hire teachers.  Why?  Simple.  Give a load of taxpayer money to a bunch of union members.  They pay their union dues and the union gives the money back to the Democratic party.  It's called money laundering, and your taxes are nothing more than "paying the vig."

Cato sums it up nicely:

This is what Obama is supporting... w/Update

and people have problems with calling the "occupiers" bottom feeders and useful idiots?

Keith Koffler:
President Obama is intensifying his identification with the Occupy Wall Street movement.
This is truly frightening.
It would be one thing for Obama to practice benign neglect, to communicate that everyone has a right to protest without really commenting on the movement itself.
But it must be unprecedented for a president of the United States to suggest an affinity for radical leftists who despise capitalism and seek to upend the economic and political system. read the rest

Bottom Feeders and Useful Idiots...

why aren't they pitching their tents outside the White House?

The Blaze video shows us how bottom feeders behave (link below.)  Not only are they going after the wrong people, they have no message other than "I want." They are also dangerous, dirty, and, in some cases, deranged.

They are quite successfully diverting attention away from the Fast and Furious investigation and the money laundering going on in the White House through federal guaranteed loans to outfits like Solyndra.

Do you think it may be a plan?

Bottom Feeders...

Ever notice the people who consider themselves the "99%" are mostly failures who love to blame someone else?

Highlights from Herman Cain's speech at the Value Voters Summit:

A little bedtime tale:

While cruising around Facebook looking at the Occupy Coeur d' Alene event page, I decided to take a gander at the people who had confirmed their attendance.  Lo and behold, who do I see but a high school kid (actually, almost all the attendees are high school kids) who I recognized.

I slipped over to his page and was greeted with pictures of him posed in front of hammer and sickle flags and the person listed as being the most influential for him is Vladamir Lenin.  I'm acquainted with his parents, who are both teachers at North Idaho College.  Mom teaches philosophy and dad teaches ethics.  Hmmmmmm.  Bet those classes are interesting.

This spawn of liberal professors would like to see everything free for everyone, starting, of course, with free higher education.  No mention of how his parents might collect their combined salaries of approximately 150K for teaching six to seven hours per week if no one pays to attend.  In many areas of the country, that is not a large salary, but in North Idaho it affords a pretty comfy life.

Before anyone jumps in here and brings up the issue of all the grading and such these professors have to do on their own time, allow me to mention neither of them assign homework or even make attending class mandatory.  As one reviewer on the "rate my professor site" said, "Easy class, easy pass."

This boy believes corporations are evil, and should be smashed and replaced with something or other.  No one has actually defined exactly what that "something" is.   And since the occupiers all think corporations are not "people", I'm not quite sure how they can be evil.  It would be like calling a computer evil because you can access porn by way of its magical pixels.

So this little Marxist wannabe stumbles around demanding "stuff" with no concept of where it will come from.   Gee, wonder who turned him on to Lenin.  His parents must be proud. No, really - they're proud.
