Let's start with Reason TV's analysis of the the bread and circus we call professional sports, in particular, the NFL.
And then we'll move on to Alex Jones, who also "gets it." You heard that right - Alex Jones. While Alex Jones may be a bit rough around the edges, he scores a touchdown with this video. I actually prefer his no nonsense-cut to the chase analysis.
Since when did professional sports become the "sport of kings?" Ever check out the prices of NFL tickets? I won't even bring up the cost of Super Bowl tickets, which are obscene.
There is no way an average family with two or three kids could ever afford to attend these events. Yet the taxpayers are stuck with the bill for building mammoth stadiums, and if they're lucky, can maybe, just maybe, watch the game on TV.
Witness the mess in Minneapolis where moonbat Governor Mark Dayton has pushed through the building of a new stadium for the Vikings that will, no doubt, run over a billion dollars. You heard that right - a billion dollars for which the state is responsible for close to half the amount. For what? So the well off can hob nob with each other and watch a losing team?
Dayton had a scheme to raise revenue with some sort of pull-tab gambling. It didn't go well so now he wants to close corporate "tax loopholes" to raise more money. That makes sense. Let's punish the job creators to fund a billion dollar stadium so he and his cronies can sit in a sky box and pat each other on the back. The peons, if they're lucky, will be sitting in some sports bar paying inflated prices for Buffalo wings while they cheer on their team.
What's really funny is reading comments from people who voted for Dayton and are now so shocked, shocked, I tell you, at what he's doing. Did any of them vet him before casting their votes, or did they just pull the lever for him because he was the "anti-Republican?"

Minnesota Child Care Rally Today at Noon...
Governor Mark Dayton is attempting to pay off his union buddies by unionizing all childcare workers. The end result will be one of three things happening. read the rest if you missed it
What happened today:
From Minnesota Majority:
Temporary Restraining Order GrantedRamsey County District Court Judge Dale Lindman today granted a temporary restraining order blocking a vote ordered by Governor Dayton to unionize the state’s home-based childcare providers (docket number 62-CV-11-9535). A group of childcare providers sued for an injunction contending that the vote is unfair and unlawful.
The restraining order will halt the planned mailing of union ballots to approximately 4,300 childcare providers deemed by the governor to be eligible until an injunction hearing can be conducted on January 17th, 2012. read the rest and consider making a small donation - I've already made mine.
Conservative rallies - just like the libs /sarc
Concerned citizens of Minnesota in the rotunda of the Minnesota Capitol in St. Paul last Saturday. They were there for one hour, respected the people who were working in the building, and left the place spotless.
Remember the lefties in Wisconsin?

Come to the state capitol at noon on Saturday, December 3 to express your outrage at Governor Dayton’s illegal attempt to unionize independent childcare providers in Minnesota.
Click here to view/print the rally flyer
Governor Dayton issued an executive order on November 15 ordering a unionization vote even though he has no legal authority to do so. Not only that, but only providers that accept children receiving state subsidies will be allowed to vote, even though the decision to unionize will affect all Minnesota daycare providers.
This move will affect parents as well. Childcare costs have increased an average of 35% in other states that have unionized independent childcare providers.
Greedy union bosses want to skim union dues from taxpayer-funded subsidies designed to help poor parents pay for childcare services. And childcare providers are just the beginning. In other states, family members caring for relatives with disabilities have also been forced to join a union.
In-home childcare providers are independent small business owners and are therefore not subject to collective bargaining arrangements. But that hasn’t stopped Governor Dayton and his union allies from trying to muscle into their businesses. Recent polls show that 68% of Minnesotans OPPOSE the unionization of childcare providers, but Governor Dayton does not appear to be listening. When: Saturday, Dec 3, Noon - 1 pm

Governor Moonbat 2.0, Mark Dayton of Minnesota, has given up...
sort of.

However, Mr. Dayton is still throwing out "conditions."

However, Mr. Dayton is still throwing out "conditions."
To make a deal, the governor set the following conditions:
- Remove policy issues
- Drop 15 percent across the board in reductions to state employees in all agencies
- Pass $500 million bonding bill
- A shift in K-12 school aid payments from 70/30 to 60/40
- Issuing tobacco bonds to cover the remaining gap
- Increasing the per student formula by $50 per year to cover additional borrowing costs
- Adding $10 million more to the University of Minnesota to equalize MnSCU cuts
- Restoring funding to Department of Human Rights and Trade Office

Governor Moonbat 2.0, Mark Dayton of Minnesota, has his own version of American history...
and it's a bit weird.
According to Hot Air, Mr. Dayton's explanation of the American Revolution " went largely unnoticed." Why am I not surprised. The loony left will never, ever look at facts but will keep their hands firmly planted over their ears while chanting, "I can't hear you, I can't hear you." You see - it's all the Republican's fault that the Minnesota government has been shut down (probably the best thing to happen in that state since spraying for mosquitoes was first started.)
Listen to what this flake has to say about the American Revolution:

Read the whole thing at Hot Air. It's a doozy and packed with verifiable facts. It is significant that this shutdown will begin on the 4th of July weekend. On that date, we celebrate our independence. It also reminds us that there are causes and principles worth struggling for – worth even suffering temporary hardships to achieve. Our American Revolution was very much about fair and just taxes, where the middle-class was over-taxed while the very rich went tax-free. In the absence of fair taxes, the basic services people relied upon for their health and well-being were denied them.

Governor Moonbat 2.0, Mark Dayton, ready to talk with Republicans...
after ruining the Independence Day weekend for many Minnesotans who couldn't go camping or visit parks.
How was your weekend, Mark?

How was your weekend, Mark?
Really? Worried about state workers who will get paid regardless of the shutdown?“This is a terrible situation, and I hope…that is going to bring the moderates out in both parties and force everybody to a resolution that may not be perfect,” he said. “The common good is to get people back to work in Minnesota and see government operating again.” read the rest
I could think of a gazillion things to cut, couldn't you?He sounded resigned to an income tax hike for millionaires not being in the final package, but he said that both sides will need to find ways to increase state revenue.
“There are very limited sources of non-tax revenue,” he said. “No one’s found a satisfactory combination yet, but we’ll keep looking.”

Is Minnesota jealous of California?
It would appear so.
Let's face it - California has better weather, fewer mosquitoes, Jerry Brown, and a boat load of crazy people. That's enough to drive any moonbat in Minnesota crazy (no offense intended to the few sane folks in California and Minnesota.)
Both Jerry Brown and "let's tax the evil rich" Mark Dayton should heed the warning of Chris Christie of New Jersey:

Both Jerry Brown and "let's tax the evil rich" Mark Dayton should heed the warning of Chris Christie of New Jersey:
Chris Wysocki puts a point on the discussion of spending by states:New Jersey and California both adopted state budgets yesterday. I listened in on Chris Christie's press conference and had to laugh as he excoriated the Democrats in our state legislature for relying on "fantasy revenue found between the couch cushions." Christie said, "I looked, it isn't there."

Republicans agree to raise the spending budget by 6% over the next two years. Dayton wants to increase spending 24%. Dayton's solution is to increase taxes in order to spend more money in the future. Does that make sense? Of course not. But that's how Democratsthink feel. I'm so glad I don't live in Minnesota anymore.

What’s the environment like in Minnesota? According to the Tax Foundation’s extensive research, Minnesota comes in 44th in business-tax climate for 2011 and 38th in income-tax burden and 38th as well for sales taxes. Minnesota comes in 39th for unemployment insurance tax, a separate category from business tax. The overall portrait puts Minnesota in the bottom 10 (43rd) for tax climates in the US. Minnesota does not need more taxes; it needs more fiscal discipline from its state government. read the rest
Victor Davis Hanson:
Indeed, what makes this Fourth different from recent celebrations is the ongoing repudiation of almost everything antithetical to the Founders’ views — the redistributive, all-powerful welfare state, the therapeutic arrogance that believes human nature can be altered by an omnipotent well-meaning government, the postmodern notion that nationhood and borders are passé, and the utopian idea that war can be declared obsolete and the need for defense transcended. From Greece to California such dreams are dead. read the rest
