Governor Moonbat 2.0, Mark Dayton, ready to talk with Republicans...

after ruining the Independence Day weekend for many Minnesotans who couldn't go camping or visit parks.

How was your weekend, Mark?
“This is a terrible situation, and I hope…that is going to bring the moderates out in both parties and force everybody to a resolution that may not be perfect,” he said. “The common good is to get people back to work in Minnesota and see government operating again.”  read the rest
Really?  Worried about state workers who will get paid regardless of the shutdown?
He sounded resigned to an income tax hike for millionaires not being in the final package, but he said that both sides will need to find ways to increase state revenue.
“There are very limited sources of non-tax revenue,” he said. “No one’s found a satisfactory combination yet, but we’ll keep looking.”
I could think of a gazillion things to cut, couldn't you?

I am just now making the rounds, what a day...I am sure there are one or two things to cut somewhere eh? Minnesota is no different then the Fed, it has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

Actually--and i know this is controversial--legalize weed. Tax it like Booze.

Big revenue stream, and reduced expenditure on locking up pot heads--more resources for meth and other horrids.

Cut the importers and organized distributors out of the loop--like we did when we ended prohibition.

Also--every time a politician says something stupid--confiscate and auction there personal property ;P

Not perfect, but hey--neither are any of the other ideas out there.

Tax the Poor! It's about time they started paying their "Fair Share". That might get them to vote with their brain.

You are missing the point. The point is, the Democrats are always right, the Republicans are always wrong. Budgets should be balanced by killing the geese that lay the golden eggs (small and medium sized business), while rewarding unions, government-sector workers and politically-connected big business. A high regulatory regime, which keeps lots of government workers employed and which set up barriers to entry for businesses that might challenge politically-connected big business doesn't hurt either, in the official narrative.

Really, Adrienne, you need to pay more attention to reality as defined by our President and the MainStreamMedia.
