About the only people I know who still read newspapers are those leaning way left. I haven't trusted newspapers since I was quite young. The main attraction for me on the Sunday edition was the ads and coupons.

I do an Amazon search and within mere minutes, links to whatever I looked at show up on my feed. I know they work because I really want to click through and check out the article or the item. Now imagine someone who is unaware of the targeting. They will be fed a steady stream of propaganda which will, trust me on this, shape their thoughts and their lives.

There's been lots of hype about the protests at the DNC. Frankly, compared to the 1968 convention, these kids are pikers. The video below shows the MSM trying to get us all excited about a small group of tatted up, filthy looking young people causing mayhem.
The Fox news people are breathless with excitement and touting the magnitude of the crowd. Ah, in a word, no. Notice the clever camera angles of the crowd to try and make it look like there's thousands of people there? There's not.
Another video at at Fox 29, in which the Philly police commissioner declares the whole affair to be a bit of a nothing burger. The Fox "news" man on the street was very disappointed and the expression on the commissioner's face is priceless. Commissioner Ross has obviously had plenty of interaction with the press and I applaud him for not rolling his eyes.
The first video was posted by Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit. I like Jim, but in his zeal to get Trump elected, he can sometimes get overly loose with his words. His headlines are replete with words like "Wow, "Breaking", and "Chaos". Jim is being aided and abetted by one Mike Cernovich, a man who has mastered the art of self promotion. Both of them make me tired.
Aren't we all exhausted enough with what is starting to feel like a twenty year election cycle to have to endure such sensationalism from the press - on both sides of the aisle?
As always - don't believe the crapola you're being fed. Do your own research and think for yourselves.

Let's just focus on two recent stories that have dominated the news the past few days.
The first one involves the secret service agent who allegedly, with no provocation, strong-armed a reporter at a Trump event. Of course, this proves that Trump is dangerous - or something.
Depending on where you saw the videos, the secret service agent was justified or not justified in his actions. The story took on a life of its own and cascaded through the blogosphere and news sites like an octopus on steroids.
There are now many videos available from many different angles, clearly showing the arrogant and unkempt reporter is lucky the agent let him live.
But, depending on the proclivities of the person posting, the exact opposite position is still being reported.
Trump and the KKK
Then we have the infamous "Trump supports the KKK and refuses to disavow an endorsement by David Duke" meme, who, I might add, is no longer a member of the KKK.
The problem here is that David Duke never endorsed Trump. How do we know this? Because David Duke said so.
Yet today, CNN published a YouTube video of Paul Ryan attacking Trump for supporting the KKK.
Disclosure: When someone says, "Who we are as a country" my hackles immediately go on full alert. I don't need Paul Ryan to tell me who we are as a country or a people. I am my own person, not some cog in the spirit of the collective, and I don't need the likes of Paul Ryan to tell me who I am.
Ryan finishes with, "I hope this is the last time I'll have to speak out on this race." Me, too, Paul.
We are being manipulated and lied to daily. Our Google searches take us to whatever the MSM and corporations (virtually the same entity) want us to go, and we go along with it because we "trust" Google. Don't.
Online sources like Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat and Facebook, can be manipulated to send you messages that appear to be legitimate. They're not.
If I can go to a site such as UK Daily Mail and be assaulted with "sponsored links" that pretty much reflect everything I've searched on Google the past few days, including recipes, to think we're not being targeted is foolish and dangerous.
Am I suggesting that you become a suspicious and wary person? Yes. Pay attention to what you read and listen to, develop your reasoning powers, and apply logic and a healthy dose of skepticism when perusing the internet.
Every major covert op has the same concealed objective: “defeat the enemy and thereby gain more control.”
But control over what?
Beyond the usual answers, the root answer is: “control over the mind.”
Why? Because if perception and thought can be channeled, directed,
reduced, and weakened, then it doesn’t matter what humans do to resist
other types of control. They will always go down the wrong path. They
will always operate within limited and bounded territory. They will
always ignore their own authentic power.
I’m talking about power that exceeds the “normal” and “average” ability to influence the stream of cause and effect.

created for us, each person creates his own.
This, dare I say it (yes, I do), is a heroic enterprise. And by heroic, I mean: without surrender. Without compromise.
Beyond the covert op, every human has the capacity to act in ways
that change the flow of time, the architecture of space, and the sources
of energy.
The degree to which an individual believes this is impossible mirrors his acceptance of the basic covert op on planet Earth.
When people speak about “hope for all of us,” they rarely refer to
the power of the individual, but that’s where it starts. With the
individual. Unchained.

Want to put the MSM out of business? It's really very simple. Quit supporting them. Cancel your cable - and please don't tell me you have cable so your children can watch the history channel. That reminds me of the guy who only reads Playboy for the articles. Get them a decent book and read it with them.
Quit going to their vile movies, and most of all don't allow your children to imbibe in their filth. Speaking of children, how about pulling them out of the government run schools that promote sodomy, condoms, and masturbation? These are schools that teach children to hate their country and set them against their parents like a revival of Hitler's Youth. These are schools where teachers flinch at the thought of anyone saying a prayer, while welcoming Planned Parenthood to speak about sex.
If you have any hopes of turning this country around, the MSM must be defeated. How long do you think they would survive if 50% of the population quit swimming in their pool of crap? The fact that The New Normal is one of the most popular programs speaks volumes about how far our culture has fallen.
Defeating the MSM is just the beginning of what will become a long and hard slog back to some semblance of sanity in this country. Do I think it's possible? Yes. Do I think it's probable? No. Unfortunately, the math is against us and another four years of Obama will clinch that deal, so I suggest you prepare yourself for what's coming.

Like Maggie, who hangs out over at her Notebook, I never watch SNL, David Letterman, or the likes of the vile Bill Maher. About once a week, I take a trip over to the HuffPo in order to see what the enemy is spinning. I do, however, always drop a trail of corn kernels to ensure my safe return. And no matter the source of news I receive, my motto remains, "trust but verify." If it's a subject I am not conversant in, I read the "experts" on both sides and make up my own mind guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church.
It's important to remember that we have many people in this country who do listen to this drivel and treat it as truth. Of course, that would be their truth and not our truth, never mind that truth is an absolute and not open to a "theirs and mine."
Take, for example, a fertilized human egg. Either it's a human being or it's not. But those that love a "woman's right to choose", will insist it's a "just a bunch of cells." Could it be an otter or a poodle? I don't think so. Science is settled on this issue and it informs us that little bunch of cells is a human being, but that makes no difference to proponents of abortion. To them it's not a human and, dad gum it, that's their truth and they're sticking to it.
So what happens when someone is fed a constant stream of information that's not true? If they don't have the intellectual curiosity to investigate, it will eventually become their version of the truth and, in my experience, they will defend it to the death. My husband always says that liberals are people who have "not thought it through."

I don't spend much time being "outraged." I do spend time being amused when the usual Easter onslaught of vitriol and nonsense aimed at Christians and in particular, at Catholics, hits the airwaves.
Notice how the title at The Blaze morphed and now says something different from the original. The fact is, the pastor had decided that the young boy is profoundly developmentally delayed, and would not have the faintest clue that he was receiving the body and blood of Christ. The boy is not being denied communion because he has cerebral palsy. There are many, many people with cerebral palsy who are capable of understanding the doctrines concerning the Holy Eucharist and receive regularly.
For some reason, the combox at The Blaze is not functioning properly so I checked out the comments at KSAT. As expected, they quickly dissolved into a bunch of non-Catholics deciding how the Church should be run, and also as expected, then progressed to the terrible priest sex abuse scandal.
Why should this matter to you?
First, the sensationalism of the title posted at The Blaze points up a growing concern. Bloggers and self-identified "news" sources have been becoming more and more overt in their quest to make their hit counters spin like an electric meter on a hot day. Nothing wrong with that on the face of it. After all, if you write the best content in the world and no one reads it, does it have an impact? But if you distort the content with a misleading title or with improperly vetted material, then you become part of the problem.
Second, what should be of interest to everyone is the following two comments. Comment number one points out (correctly) that the problems with sexual abuse of minors is rampant in many other segments of society. Read carefully how another person responded.
Comment: Rose, there are fewer problems with Catholic priests than their are with other religious leaders, teachers, police officers, or psychologists. So why do you pick on priests?
Response: That is a bunch of bull and you know it. Take your head out of the sand and just read the news. We pick on priests because for many, many years they have been picking on and abusing young children and it looks like they are not going to stop as long at the Pope does not stop it.
Okay, I admit to making it easy by highlighting the obvious. Just read the news? Because as we all know, the "news" doesn't lie. We could line up facts and figures to back up the truth of the first comment above, and it would make no difference to the person who responded. Because the "news" told him otherwise. And that my friends, is a microcosm of what is going on in this country. And that is not amusing...

For the first time, the administration admitted the economic forecasts it used to sell the stimulus were overly optimistic.
