House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was readmitted to MedStar Washington’s Intensive Care Unit today. He is listed in serious condition (downgraded from fair) due to new concerns about infection. The hospital did not elaborate on these concerns.
Scalise’s condition had steadily improved since mid-June when he was shot by a left-wing gunman who trying to carry out the mass assassination of GOP members of Congress. The Louisiana congressman was released from intensive care nine days after the shooting.
Now, however, he is back in intensive care. The hospital promised to provide an update on Scalise’s condition tomorrow (Thursday).
Trump and Melania in Poland:

After studying the history of Poland many years ago, I was always disturbed about the way Poland has been treated. It made Polish jokes sound not very funny.
I suggest that we all quit paying attention to CNN tweets and instead listen to the original source of all their angst. “Just as Poland cannot be broken, I declare today for the world to hear that the West will never, ever be broken. Our values will prevail, our people will thrive, and our civilization will triumph.” Isn't it lovely to have a president that doesn't go all over the world trashing the U.S.A. and stands proudly for Western values? This is a very powerful speech.
The temperature is inching toward 100° which is 20° beyond my comfort level. By 10 am I'm pretty much locked in the house enjoying our portable air conditioner.

Yesterday has left me very shaken and gotten me thinking some very uncharitable thoughts.
Dehumanize and Depersonalize
This is what Hitler did with the Jews. Using propaganda he depersonalized and dehumanized them until it became acceptable to beat and kill them and cart them off in cattle cars. Now you have libtards, you know - the ones who espouse love, kindness, fairness, diversity, and social justice wishing for the death of Trump and any Republican who they deem fair game - which, I think, is all of them. And the MSM, in an attempt to garner eyeballs on their bleatings, are all too willing to go along with it.
Reading some of the comments on Huff and Puff yesterday made my stomach churn and my chest hurt. As much as I dislike Odumbo and his puppet masters, I've never wished or hoped for them to endure a painful death.
People who write such insanity could easily be considered criminally insane. They have slid so far into the abyss that we end up with some of them thinking it's okay to go shoot up a baseball game and kill people.
Civil war? I doubt it. However, I wouldn't be too keen on living in a large city right now. And I'm not falling for their desire for us to be demoralized. Our faith in God is what informs us that He will always win in the end. It's as simple as that.

It's no secret that I "heart" Mark Steyn and not just for his dreamy eyes and cute accent. I think he's also one smart guy. He really gets to the heart of this controversy about Obama beaming himself into the school rooms of this country.
The lefties are all labeling the eruption of outrage from concerned parents, to quote Robert Gibbs, official stutterer of the president, "silly season." I've carefully read the "lesson plan" put out by the White House and find it quite alarming. I've been called lots of things (lots!!!), but never, ever have I been called "silly."
Has it perhaps occurred to the president that his unprecedented number of speeches, weekly addresses, trips across the county to continue a never ending campaign, and usurping of the airwaves of this country is perhaps wearing the public down? That perhaps maybe, just maybe we are sick of the sight and sound of him?
And how does he counter such negative reaction? Why he decides to beam himself into the school rooms across the country. The narcissist-in-chief is so in love with himself that he cannot even imagine why this would upset anyone.
I heard a rumor that Mark Steyn was subbing today and tomorrow for Rush Limbaugh.

Mark Steyn
****I've become quite a fan of Mark Steyn since he has substituted for Rush Limbaugh on numerous occasions. I loved his accent and thought he was pretty darn smart.
****Until this evening I had never seen a picture of him. Imagine my surprise when, after envisioning a small, rather dried up little guy, I stumble upon this picture. That led to a Google image search and my-of-my - he's one hot looking guy. Just my type. What my Mom always called "white bread." It's true - opposites attract!! (Down girl!!)
*****After a day of hard work outside and Mass at 6pm, we finally got around to watching the original Brideshead Revisited. (or at least we got started as it's about 11 or episodes). The DVD had been languishing by our TV for at least 6 weeks. Thank goodness for Netflix and their easy going rental policies.
*****I was worried that the screen adaptation would be a bit on the "slow" side for my temperament, but I am thoroughly enchanted and can't wait to see more. The casting is perfect and the acting is wonderful.
