Jennifer: Where are you, Adrienne! you've not posted in almost a week, are you still alive?? Did your hand eat you?

*****I appreciate all the notes of concern about my long absence. My hand did not fall off, and healed up very quickly. However, with the insanity flowing fast and furious out of Washington (DC), my mind was a bit frazzled and, well, I just became a bit depressed.

*****But, thanks to our current President's concern and the government website, "A Guide to Getting Through Tough Economic Times", I have been able to rally and put things in perspective. It felt so reassuring to know the government cared so much for my mental health and was ready to step in and offer assistance.

*****They even have a section about suicide prevention (not that I was anywhere near that point but it's nice to know it's there if I ever need it). So I'm kinda wondering how that works in states that have assisted suicide as a "right." On the one hand, we have the United States Department of Health and Human Services trying to prevent suicides, while some states are encouraging us to "do the deed" (keeps health care costs under control, doncha know!) Seems a bit schizophrenic to me.

I think even Michelle Malkin had to check out the services offered.

*****The real thing that jolted me out of my lethargy was our current President's promise to back the warranty if I decide to buy a new GM car. How could that not lift my spirits - knowing that the government will fix my car if it gets a boo-boo?

*****I thought James Lewis had a pretty good take on this whole GM thing going on. I admit it had me more than a little worried, what with the government confiscating a private company and all. Thank goodness our current President has the best interests of the country and its individual citizens at the core of all his programs.

*****Lest any of you think I've just been nursing my hand and feeding my depression with doughnuts (I wish), know that the bathroom is painted, the living room and dining room almost finished with new paint (including the ceiling), and the hall will be done by the end of the week. The kitchen will be painted the first of next week, ten chairs will be recovered, and curtains will be constructed (I glue and staple).


On a much more serious note:

*****I was saddened to learn of the passing of Tom in Vegas' beloved grandma, Isabel. Please stop over and send some prayers.

*****Also, one of my newest friends, Pops over at Conservative Outrage, just lost his precious wife of 31 years on Tuesday. He wrote a beautiful remembrance in her honor. Please take the time to read it and leave a message of prayer and condolence for him.
