From the Combox:
Jennifer: Where are you, Adrienne! you've not posted in almost a week, are you still alive?? Did your hand eat you?
*****I appreciate all the notes of concern about my long absence. My hand did not fall off, and healed up very quickly. However, with the insanity flowing fast and furious out of Washington (DC), my mind was a bit frazzled and, well, I just became a bit depressed.
*****But, thanks to our current President's concern and the government website, "A Guide to Getting Through Tough Economic Times", I have been able to rally and put things in perspective. It felt so reassuring to know the government cared so much for my mental health and was ready to step in and offer assistance.
*****They even have a section about suicide prevention (not that I was anywhere near that point but it's nice to know it's there if I ever need it). So I'm kinda wondering how that works in states that have assisted suicide as a "right." On the one hand, we have the United States Department of Health and Human Services trying to prevent suicides, while some states are encouraging us to "do the deed" (keeps health care costs under control, doncha know!) Seems a bit schizophrenic to me.
I think even Michelle Malkin had to check out the services offered.

*****"Reuters is running a story on the Obama administration’s new federally subsidized counseling services/referrals for those suffering from depression related to the economy. As usual, the government’s prescription for pain is…more government." read more
*****The real thing that jolted me out of my lethargy was our current President's promise to back the warranty if I decide to buy a new GM car. How could that not lift my spirits - knowing that the government will fix my car if it gets a boo-boo?
*****I thought James Lewis had a pretty good take on this whole GM thing going on. I admit it had me more than a little worried, what with the government confiscating a private company and all. Thank goodness our current President has the best interests of the country and its individual citizens at the core of all his programs.
Obama's revenge against GM
by James Lewis
*****"Watching Obama is a psychiatrist's delight. Here we have a middle-aged man with no real-world accomplishments, but with truly astonishing grandiosity and a rock-star following that confirms his Jesus Christ Complex at every opportunity. Obama must have real, ingrained grandiosity, the kind that is anchored deep in the soul. He goes ‘way beyond the usual high-fallutin' rhetoric from presidential speech writers -- because he has just fired the President and CEO of General Motors, something no previous president, including FDR or JFK, would ever have imagined doing." read more
*****Peter Wallsten and Jim Tankersley over at the L.A. Times are pretty excited about this whole Gm thingy, too.
Obama takes step over the line that separates government from private industry
*****"His automaker bailout plan wades into 'industrial policy,' in which government officials, not business executives or the free market, decide what products a firm makes and how it charts its future." read more
*****And then today he made me sooooo proud to be an American when he presented the Queen of England with an IPod. What a cool gift. She must be very flattered.
*****Marie Jon over at Renew America has a wonderful take on what's going on in our country. Well worth a read
Suddenly one morning, tyranny
by Marie Jon
*****"Let it be understood that it was Obama's purpose to exaggerate the ways in which his progressive policies and positions were consistent with Biblical faith. Unfortunately, his beliefs are far from the gospel of Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. "You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act" read the rest
*****Lest any of you think I've just been nursing my hand and feeding my depression with doughnuts (I wish), know that the bathroom is painted, the living room and dining room almost finished with new paint (including the ceiling), and the hall will be done by the end of the week. The kitchen will be painted the first of next week, ten chairs will be recovered, and curtains will be constructed (I glue and staple).
On a much more serious note:
*****I was saddened to learn of the passing of Tom in Vegas' beloved grandma, Isabel. Please stop over and send some prayers.
*****Also, one of my newest friends, Pops over at Conservative Outrage, just lost his precious wife of 31 years on Tuesday. He wrote a beautiful remembrance in her honor. Please take the time to read it and leave a message of prayer and condolence for him.

I missed your ranting, and I agree, it is just so overwhelming that I myself have become irrational, angry, & depressed. Thankfully I choose to take one day at a time.
Don't you think a 90 year old matriarch needs an iPOD? You know she can't afford such luxuries.
Also, I came accross a lovely blog and the author shows how to avoid stiching by using staples. Her house is beautiful and you should check out her link to Window Mistreatments. http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/
Actually Jennifer - the Queen Mum already has an iPod. Prince Charles got it for her.
Heading off to the link now. I discovered Tear Mender and have totally fallen in love. I repaired some hems on jams with this stuff. It is a miracle product.
You'll have to come over and see things when I'm finished. I call it my "adult" grown up look. LOL
I, too, am battling with depression, "fear", and uncertainty. Most the people I know feel like we do. When can we start the impeachment process? He still hasn't proven he's a citizen of the US. Oh, did anyone send a tea bag to Washington? I was going to send a copy of one and forgot. Still might tomorrow.

Cheer up...at least Obama is not on American soil.
too funny....sadly true, but funny
I'm a sucker for satire....
The soul-fixer-in-chief is here to dry your tears.
But will he hold my hand and tell me that I'm special too?
woo hoo.. glad your back!!!!!
Thanks for the post -- informative and thought provoking as always.
How much snow did you all get over there in Post Falls? We had three inches of snow in Shadle Park this morning, but it's all melted away now. Downtown Spokane is now just wet and muddy...
Cheers!
I’m trying to figure out how to best say thank you in a way I haven’t previously, so I wont sound formulaic or disingenuous.
I think you know how grateful I am for your prayers and for all your thoughts. God bless.
