Our Future

Congress passes $3.5 trillion budget in the dark
by Ed Morrissey

*****"Even the White House’s rosy projections show this to be a disaster. It grows the deficits in every year over the next 12 even under the best of circumstances. In an era where Americans have to tighten their belts and reduce their borrowing in order to shore up their own financial situations, Congress and Obama have shown no such sense of shared sacrifice. Instead, they’re busy borrowing like maniacs to pay for their own pet projects. It’s a disgrace, and even some Democrats have discovered this. read the rest

*****The Iowa Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling yesterday finding that the state's same-sex marriage ban violates the constitutional rights of gay and lesbian couples.

*****The government reported Friday that the unemployment rate soared to 8.5 percent in March, the highest since late 1983.

*****And while all this and much more is going on, our current President is running around Europe apologizing for the United States and all the "bad" things we have done. He is as big a disgrace as his budget.

*****Last Saturday I had the radio tuned to my favorite (ok - my only) talk radio station while I was busy painting the dining room ceiling. I never did catch the name of the preacher who was giving the sermon. I knew he wasn't Catholic because his talk was centered on Christ crucified and he even used the word "sin" (a lot).

*****To be fair we have many wonderful priests "in the trenches" doing a great job. I'm thankful so many of them decided to embrace the new technology and bring the message of authentic Catholicism to those that suffer under the politically correct version.

*****I'm going to be busy painting today and tomorrow. I will be taking time out to read Father John Speekman's homily. One thing I can always count on is his ability to lift my spirits and put me back on the right path. I'm looking forward to reading his Palm Sunday homily after breakfast.

Good quote, good beer.

I'm going to skip the depressing stuff and ask what colors of paint you have been using. It's such a dark, cold, gloomy day that I need color - lots of it.

Jennifer - good one. I'm going to add it to the post....thanks!

Packie - My hubby suggested I put some pictures up of the colors, including my re-done shower curtain. It was too short so last night I added a band on the bottom and trimmed it with the most gorgeous beads. Looks pretty smashing (IMHO).

But the best part was I used nothing but Tear Mender for the entire job. Didn't have to haul out my sewing machine and it looks really clean without stitches.

Miss Adrienne,

Where have you been going to Mass?

www.traditionalcatholicism.org

is a website of Catholic Priest's sermons perhaps you might want to give a listen to and provide to your Priest and Confessor as a helpful tool.

Only Priests and Nuns comment on this site.I have to give you this website as your remark is a very powerful condemnation of us and praises protestant heresy.

May God our Lord in his infinite and supreme goodness be pleased to give us his abundant grace, that we may know his most holy will, and entirely fulfill it.

Pablo - thanks for stopping by.

I am well acquainted with the SSPX. As a matter of fact Father Pfeiffer (Joseph not Timothy) taught my husband's convert class.

My current pastor is very orthodox - just not very lively ;-)

As a further point of fact this particular Protestant minister I listened to managed to preach an entire sermon without any heresy. It ispossible.

On the other hand, I have heard heresy preached by other Protestants, and also from the ambo of a Catholic Church including the SSPX. It has been this way since Pentecost.

That is why we must all strive to know our faith.
