Democrat Threatens Tea Party Girl

personally, I would have clocked the guy!
During a public event at the Reform Congregation - Keneseth Israel in Jenkintown, Pa for Obama (which no Republicans were invited to speak at) - We arrived to find Myron Goldman - a Jewish American for Romney handing out literature. He was told to leave. 10 minutes later, Steve (from Citizens For Liberty) and I were listening to Josh Shapiro talk about how TOLERANT the Democrats are and how they welcome other opinions (yet they tried to throw Mr. Goldman off the property). At the end of the event, I stood in the parking lot with my sign that said Obama has killed (among other things) Jobs, the coal industry, and the Constitution. Things got very heated as a Democrat told one person to "Go F*ck Themself" and then he proceeded to get in my face, bump his chest into me, and told me he was going to break my camera. To be fair, there were 2 lovely Democrat ladies at the end who stopped and said they appreciated our right to be there and voice our opinion. Debbie Wasserman Schultz spoke at this event - the same Debbie Wasserman Schultz who said the Tea Party lacks civility - if you watch this video - I'd say actions speak louder than Debbie's lying accusations.

Politically motivated physical assault recorded on video

23 July 2012:

If you had any doubt that ideological emotions are running high in advance of the 2012 elections, a video taken on the evening of 16 July 2012 outside of a synagogue in Jenkintown, PA  should put them to rest.  Tensions are beginning to become apparent as the political and ideological divide widens among citizens.
The meeting of Obama supporters, led in part by Josh Shapiro, the Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, spoke to the crowd about the 2012 Obama campaign along with Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Chair of the Democratic National Committee.
Ironically, Shapiro spoke about how tolerant their Progressive ideology is and how they welcome diversity of opinion, except, apparently, when the opinion does not conform to the ideology of Progressivism.  read the rest

The arrogance of Obama...

is stunning.

Allow me to repeat (ad nauseam)  NOTHING IS FREE!!

Obama's divide-and-conquer strategy
Barack Obama is a not only an abortion zealot, he’s also a fascist control freak – determined to make government the ultimate arbiter of morality on all matters political and economic.
That’s the only conclusion one can reach from his efforts to force individuals like me, institutions like the Catholic Church, insurance companies and employers nationwide to provide “free” abortions, “free” sterilizations and “free” contraception to those who are part of any health insurance program in the U.S.

It’s a natural manifestation of Obamacare – and something advocates of the legislation assured would never happen as a result of passage.
It didn’t take very long to reveal the administration’s deceit.

There’s no compromising with this hideous plan.  read the rest

Is America skittering toward the great abyss?

This started out as a deeply depressing Sunday, courtesy of an article in the American Thinker (that Cicero of Washington Rebel likes,) by David Deming - America is Gone.  To sum it up, Mr. Deming sees our American way of life irrevocably gone and envisions a bleak and unhappy future.
"There is a whiff of anarchy in the air this morning. As I sit here writing, a conservative victory in the midterm elections looms. But I find no reason to be optimistic. The midterm elections will solve nothing. The plain fact is that conservatives have lost the battle for America. The country that many of us were born in has ceased to exist. And we have no one to blame but ourselves. Nothing can or will change until we come to terms with the grim reality of moral degeneration. And I have no hope that this can happen, save by some terrible trial." entire article
The sad fact is, Mr. Deming is probably more correct than not.  Most of my readers are whippersnappers who don't remember much before the 1980's or at most, the 70's (which makes it all the more remarkable  you're the conservatives you are.)   Those of us a bit older remember a far different America than the one we live in now.  Was everything better?  No, it never is.  It is human nature to glamorize, romanticize, and gloss over the ugly parts.   However, each generation since the late 1800's has become progressively more morally corrupt.  I believe the only thing Mr. Deming managed to leave out of his article was our willingness to have a discussion over the moral rights of a woman to butcher her child in the womb, or administer a "hot shot" to an ailing senior citizen, let alone actually performing these odious tasks.

Next, I headed over to the Plantation Nation for a quick bit of John Stossel interviewing Angelo Codevilla, author of The Ruling Class, and Matt Welch, editor-in-chief of Reason Magazine, about the coming elections.  Mr. Stossel believes, as does The Plantation Nation, that it will be "business as usual" after the elections.  And, in their own way, so do Mr. Codevilla and Mr. Welch. Again, I tend to agree.

Already we hear prominent Republicans talking about "working with" or "compromising" with the Democrats, which is exactly what the majority of the American citizens oppose.  True conservatives don't want to have the growth of Government "slowed"; they want the Federal government to be divested of the myriad of departments, czars, and unconstitutional activities it has co-opted over many decades.  Two major places they can start is with the bankrupt Medicare system, which is nothing more than a coercive form of welfare most seniors are forced into, and the reform and privatization of Social Security.  Once done, they can move on to defund the hundreds and hundreds of departments that have been formed unconstitutionally.

In "The Tea Party vs The Ruling Class" by Robert James Bidinotto, we see our first ray of hope on this Sunday morning.  Mr. Bidinotto elaborates on what Mr. Codevilla has to say about the "ruling class," while recognizing the Tea Party movement as a rising up of a conservative movement that will continue the good fight after the election.

[...]Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve been paying close attention to politics since I was a teenager in the 1960s. I’ve never been so optimistic about America’s future—and you are a major reason for that. For nearly half a century, I wrote and preached about our lost liberties and endangered rights, feeling like a lonely voice in the wilderness. But now, millions of voices are carrying that message.  read the rest
So which camp is right; the glass-half-empty folks, or those who like viewing their glasses half-full?  Are we doomed, or will the country battle its way back to the vision of our founders?  Most days I think the possibility of pulling this country out of the sink-hole isn't very good.  Other days I have great hope, a theological virtue of, well, great hope - that we will return to the intentions of our founding fathers.  When Mr. Deming says he sees no hope (a sin against hope), save by some terrible trial, he has stated a historical truth.  It will take a profoundly disturbing, even ugly event, to make some people turn their hearts and minds back to our Creator and to the "truth that will set us free."

Stop Allowing The Left To Set The Rules
by Lloyd Marcus, Black Un-hyphenated American!
 [...]
Folks, the stakes are far too high to allow the Left to continue setting the rules of engagement. The far Left and Obama administration have a vision for America different than our Constitution. As patriots, it is our duty to just say, NO!

My black 82 year old dad told me he has seen the reports on TV how a lot of people at the rallies want Obama dead. I said, "I bet you saw that on CNN". Dad said, "Yes". It infuriates me that CNN is selling the lie that the Tea Party Movement is all about racism and hatred for a black president. While my dad never said anything out loud, I thought, "What must he think of me? Why is his first born siding with these evil white folks against a fine fellow black man?" I replied, "Dad, try watching Fox". read it all

Pledge NO for raising taxes

H/T to our good friend Ray T.

Mainstream media say TEA Party Day rallies in over 2,014 cities not worthy of coverage
Take the pledge not to vote for any politician who votes to raise taxes or increase spending

The mainstream media have not covered today's TEA Party rallies because they are fearful that coverage would hurt President Obama and the liberals' chances of getting a $1 trillion tax increase passed.

Despite the fact that AFA-sponsored TEA Party Day rallies are being held in more than 2,014 cities, the mainstream media have ignored it. Why? Let a member of the media tell you.
Leslie Marshall, a nationally syndicated liberal radio host, said the mainstream media are not covering the rallies because they're not worthy of coverage.

How about that! Small rallies in 10 cities protesting the war get extensive coverage, but the biggest tax protest in the history of America is ignored! If you are against higher taxes and increased spending, apparently your views are not important! But you can bet your bottom dollar (before taxes get it) that the mainstream will do all they can to get Congress to pass President Obama's trillion dollar tax raise.

Take the pledge not to vote for any politician who votes to raise taxes or increase spending

Nice place to have a rally!!!

A bit of local flavor...and some great flags and signs

One of our locals sailed his 90' houseboat over. They threw symbolic boxes of tea overboard, lowered the Union Jack, and raised the American flag.

A John Galt fan

I love the way this sign appears to be sitting on top of the porta-potties. How apt!

Other locals flew their helicopters over us in support..

Crowd estimated at between 800 and 1000

The local news came and stayed. Good for you, guys!!

Tea Party Day

*****"I don't know about cultural phenomenon, but I'll tell you what," Santelli said. "I think that this tea party phenomenon is steeped in American culture and steeped in American notion to get involved with what's going on with our government. I haven't organized. I'm going to have to work to pay my taxes, so I'm not going to be able to get away today. But, I have to tell you - I'm pretty proud of this. Rick Santelli, CNBC’s “Squawk Box” April 15

Should You Attend a Tea Party?

THEY DID IT FOR YOU. NOW DO IT FOR THEM

*****"On Wednesday, April 15th, thousands of Americans who have never before protested anything in their lives are going to be taking some hours from their busy workdays to go out into streets and show the Statists that they are not simply going to roll over and hand over the fruits of their labor to fund this growing aneurysm known as the Federal Government." read the rest at Pajama Media

This "right wing extremist" will be attending the Tea Party in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

Some Observations:

  1. President Barack Obama seized the opportunity on tax-filing day to assert that his administration is easing the tax burden of working people. If you say something often enough, no matter how ridiculous, the sheeple will believe it to be true.
  2. Kabul - A group of some 1,000 Afghans swarmed a demonstration of 300 women protesting against a new conservative marriage law on Wednesday. The women were pelted with small stones as police struggled to keep the two groups apart. Lovely!
  3. "The White House says the president is unaware of the tea parties and will hold his own event today," ABC's Dan Harris said on "Good Morning America" on April 15. Right! And I'm tall and thin /sarcasm
  4. Would it have been ok to mock and ridicule Susan Boyle if she couldn't sing?

Reactions to Schumer

Some Reactions to Schumer video:

from the combox:

LarryD sums it up quite nicely: Jerk
*****Don't you just love his way with words?

Kalona says: This is the guy who made me so mad a few weeks ago, Adrienne, with his comment about the "chattering class." (See her post Mad as Hell) He did the little air quote thing that time, too. I was thinking of going to the tea party in San Antonio, and this has helped me decide for sure. I'm hauling my "traditional values" down to the Alamo tomorrow.
*****Isn't Glenn Beck going to be at the Alamo??

MightyMom: (a brand new Catholic - congrats) nope, BP is high enough...but keep getting the word out my friend.

Packrat: I can't say here what I want to say. I'm not "hard" right, and he made me furious. How dare he? Okay, now we pray for him? I admit I have the most difficult time praying for someone that has made me mad or that I believe to be in the wrong. I'm never quite sure *how* to pray for them.

Schumer & Tea Parties

*****
It is one thing to hear what Chuck Schumer (D-New York) thinks about traditional values, but just check out his body language and how cute he looks making little quote marks in the air. And who better to understand and sympathize with what he's saying than the lesbian host of the show, Rachel Maddow.

*****I was undecided about attending our local tea party until I saw this clip and was reminded of how these elitist snobs view those of us who still believe in traditional values. I'm no longer undecided....
