About the possibility of a Civil War 2.0...

was I wrong?

An article I posted on 12/6  Are conservatives living in their own bubble?...
 concluded with:
We've formed our own little bubble of interest and have failed to realize that most people don't give a damn. And the commie/libtards who spout off with goofy anti-Trump crap are just parroting what their commie/libtard friends or the fake news tell them without really being all that interested.
So when I see "civil war" being bandied about, it makes me wonder who in hell is going to show up for a war they know nothing about.
First up to slap me up side the head was my most esteemed blogger buddy, Bunkerville:
It is claimed that only one third of America supported the American revolution. Most were out in the hinterlands trying to survive and grow a family, and keep their scalp. Still it was quite some war. That was the end of King George III and his experiment with his colonies. Just saying.
Good point, Bunk!

Next up an article posted on American Thinker (12/6/19), Democrats Are Pushing America Into Civil War, by William L. Gensert,  has garnered 1,242 comments.  Do I need to tell you which way those comments lean?  I didn't think so.
"When the enemy stands between those with blinding hatred in their hearts and the power they crave, there is nowhere else for them to go but to war.
There is just one problem with their strategy, Americans see what the Democrats have planned for them.  Americans understand what is coming.
They are coming for those who will not acquiesce to the left’s plans for America.  All that remains is how the people will react. Normal Americans have had enough -- they are going to fight."

Not to be outdone, LSP posted Rolling to Civil WarExcellent and worth the read.

Civil War 2.0??...

your thoughts.

I thought I'd better check in from my snowy abode (I may escape today for a bit) so you wouldn't think I'd fled the planet.

Lent started with a smashing sacrifice when I couldn't get out on Fat Tuesday to gorge on a carb laden pile of pancakes or filled doughnuts.  Do I get a do-over on Fat Tuesday?  Maybe LSP can give me a special dispensation to indulge today (please?)

Even worse  I couldn't get out on Wednesday to attend Mass and have ashes plastered on my forehead.  Sigh.

Disturbing Content

No - not the wacked out commies further pushing their anti-American agenda and their relentless pursuit of trashing our duly elected president.  I resent every tax-payer dime these enemies of the state are sucking up instead of doing their jobs.

This is about a number of articles in the American Thinker from last week.

On February 28 Is a Second Civil War Coming? was posted and scooped up close to 1700 comments.

The following day  America's Second Civil War Has Already Begun gobbled up over 1200 comments.

On March 3, they posted What does it take to start a civil war? with well over 500 comments.

Then on March 6, Lloyd Marcus posted  What If Trump Loses in 2020?  also with over 500 comments.

Why am I mentioning the comments?

Anyone who has hung around my corner of the internet knows that I spend quite a bit of time perusing comments on articles.  While I like reading what intelligent people post, I'm even more interested in how people respond.

I found the responses a bit alarming.  The comboxes, other than the trolls, were filled with people who were equally alarmed, but still pragmatic about the outcome of the politics of today.  These were not comments from wild eyed skin- heads, but mostly well thought out responses.

I've always thought the idea of Civil War was impossible.  I'm not so sure anymore. I have taken my own temperature on the ignorant antics of the commies in this country and it's has soared into the brain frying area.

Hoaxed

This comment from American Thinker brings me to the next subject - the documentary Hoaxed.
We are already deep into a civil war. Because much of the fighting is done with information, not hand to hand combat, most don’t see it. The war is well underway.
I watched Hoaxed yesterday and I am so impressed that I'm urging you to watch it.  That's a big step for me since the producer, Mike Cernovich, is not on my fan list.  This is one of the best objectively produced documentaries of the psychotic hold fake news has on our society.  I think you'll be surprised what they have to say about Black Lives Matter too.

Ilhan Omar: Seditious and a traitor?

you be the judge.

I believe that impeachment is inevitable. It also is a terrifying notion. Nations struggle any time they overthrow a dictator, and Trump really has the markings of a dictator. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/ilhan-omar-congress-interview-797220/

After the ridiculous Cohen dog and pony show yesterday we have the above little missive from the Minnesota muslim.  Dictator?

What the hell is wrong with the people of this country that this sort of thing is allowed?

These people are paid by the American tax-payers to deal with the work of the country - not spend countless hours listening to a convicted liar trash our president.

Is this okay with the commie freaks living in Minnesota?

Are we headed toward a civil war?

If this sort of crap continues it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Let's rewrite history...

1984 has finally arrived and the people are so dumbed down they not only don't understand what is going on, they don't care.

We have elected pukes making a big deal out of retiring the Confederate flag in SC, and they're planning on digging up dead people and moving them.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com)--The Memphis City Council unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday to move the remains of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife from Health Sciences Park.

They have been buried in a park on Union Avenue for 110 years.

Council members are also moving ahead with plans to remove the statue of Forrest, and even looking at selling the statue to anyone who wants it. source
Crime rates are soaring in most major cities, one third of the people in this country are out of work, illegal immigrants are killing our citizens, and all these over-paid politicians are harping about flags and football logos.  Do you see a serious problem?

A Personal Note on Prepping:

Yesterday and the day before, we experienced power outages lasting about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.  It didn't take long to realize, once again, how dependent we are on our power.  Last week I had read an article, How to Prep for a Summer Power Outage, by Daisy Luther, over at The Organic Prepper, which was excellent (as all of Daisy's articles are.)

A power outage of a few hours in 98° weather is not too serious.  But after about 24 hours, you can kiss your frozen and refrigerated food buh bye.  A winter power outage in North Idaho is no big deal.  Toss the food in a box and stick it on the deck or in a snow bank.  But summer is a problem.   It's one of the reasons I started canning again last year, and concentrated on meat and veggies.  Man does not live on pickles and jelly.

Daisy also has a fine article on How to Prepare for a Cyber Attack.  I highly recommend both.

On the up-side, our heat wave has broken, it actually rained today, and we're having bacon for breakfast.  Life is good.
