Bill Whittle: Does the gun-loving USA lead the world in murders?...

not by a long shot.

From Youtube:
The USA has, by far, the highest per capita gun ownership in the world. Progressives will tell you that this is what makes America the Murder Capitol of Planet Earth. But we're not, and in this devastatingly effective Firewall, Bill Whittle shows why the center of Gun Nut Nation is in fact one of the safest places in the world.
The top US cities for murder have something in common.  I'm sure you can figure it out.

National Handwriting Day

is today.

January 23rd has been designated National Handwriting Day by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association (WIMA)

I'm very fussy about my pens and penmanship. Since spending so much time on a computer, I've noticed a decline in my ability to think while writing by hand.  I tend to get lost in the middle of sentences, or even words, so it messes up my penmanship.  Not acceptable.

To counter the problem, I've started to type my letters in Word, print them out, and copy by hand so I can concentrate on my penmanship.

Spelling?  My spelling has become so atrocious since spell-check entered my life that I'm truly ashamed. We won't get into commas here.  I'm sure my mother was stalked and terrorized by a comma when she was pregnant with moi.

To make matters worse, it seems schools will no longer teach cursive to students.  Really?  Aren't they dumb enough yet?   The elites think "keyboarding" is more important.  We used to call that typing class.

I was taught Palmer Method handwriting.  I still think it's one of the most lovely for everyday writing.

Mychal Massie tells us what he really thinks of Obama and his wife...

epic!

Visit Mychal at The Daily Rant
But for all of Obama’s lies told in his speech and as infuriating as his openly declaring he would neither honor nor be constrained by the Constitution, the single most infuriating act of shameful disregard for America was his loathsome wife throwing excrement in the face America’s military families.

I was angered to the point of feeling the veins bulge in my neck. As I sat in my study not only did my anger not dissipate but it grew in intensity.

That Obama would allow his miserable, contumacious, America-hating wife to display such blatant disrespect for the families of those he allowed to be murdered in Benghazi and those he allowed to be murdered in Fast and Furious is unforgivable.

So I did the following video. I made a promise to the wife of Tyrone Woods that I would never let America forget his sacrifice and the sacrifice of those who were murdered with September 11, 2012.
Everyone who views this video should be as angry and appalled as I was and am by the Obama woman’s moral opprobriousness.

The accompanying video is not presented with my usual reserve. I do not apologize for being angry when a wanton infidel who gives new meaning to usufruct and throws excrement in the face of our military families who have suffered lost.
(I had to look up usufruct.)

WTHell? Muslim Call to Prayer Broadcast at UCLA?...

how about broadcasting a rosary, too.

This is nauseating.

Posted by Jim Hoft on YouTube:
This video was taken in front of the student activities center on the north side of the UCLA campus near the athletic field off Sunset Boulevard. Frida's Islamic call to prayer.

Kerry plays the fool in France...

and brings along washed up James Taylor to sing "You've Got a Friend" to Hollande.

People died violently at the hands of Islamic crazies, and we offer up James Taylor? It just doesn't get anymore trite and moronic than this.

Bill Whittle: Multiculturalism Caused the Paris Attacks...

indeed it did.

Here's a whole bunch of stuff we can't control...

as my friend Larry, over at Acts of the Apostasy, says, "Not my circus, not my monkeys."

I can't do anything about Pope Francis (bless his heart), saying really stupid stuff.  Should I be worried about the possibility of him possibly leading souls to hell?  Nope.  Because my motto is:  "Let God sort it out."

How about the dopes in Boston chaining themselves to barrels of cement in the middle of a Boston freeway?

Another no. I do feel sympathy for those stranded and inconvenienced by the dopes, though.

Call to Islamic prayer being broadcast at Duke University?  (Are they experiencing some form of Stockholm syndrome?)   I don't go to Duke and if I did, I would be leaving.

Do I advocate sticking your head in the sand and avoiding all news?  Absolutely not.  It is imperative for you to know what is going on and view it through the lens of history in order for you to make rational orderly decisions about your future.

So today, I will do at least one thing that will bring more order to my life.  This month's challenge is to bring order to all important papers in my life.

Do you need to do the same?

Here's a handy guide to get you started:

Organize Your Important Household Papers:

Trust me when I tell  you that if you bring order to your life, you will be better prepared to understand our turbulent world.

What do we truly control?...

my recent thinking on this is - not much.

Everyday we are assaulted through news sources, both mainstream and alternative,  about all the goings on in the world. I would contend that close to 100% of what is going on is stuff we have absolutely no control over.

And yet many of us (you may call me guilty) spend untold hours perusing all these sources as though our lives depended on knowing everything, down to and including what our favorite entertainers had for breakfast.

If the news is leaving you feeling out of control, it may be time to cut back on what you suck into your head.

As part of my ongoing plans to declutter and simplify, I'm going to declutter and simplify my writing.  That means fewer words and fewer posts.

You see - the only things we can really control is ourselves, and our immediate surroundings.

I suggest as an antidote to make this the year you take control of the things you can truly control.  A life that is humming along in an orderly fashion is a lot less likely to be overwhelmed by an increasingly out-of-control world.

Think of ways you can simplify your life.

I'd say more, but I'm already over my word limit.  More tomorrow.

Call me cynical, but...

exactly what was the purpose of millions of people marching in France?

Is anything going to change?

I doubt it.

The only change you can control is your own.

More on that later (maybe tomorrow.)

The mayor of Rotterdam gets it:

Moroccan-born mayor of Rotterdam tells fellow Muslims who do not appreciate the 'freedoms' of living in the West to 'pack your bags and f*** off' on live TV.

Popping my way around the blogosphere I find millions of words being spilled over the terror attack in Paris and this guy succinctly sums it up in one sentence.  My kind of guy.

Meantime the "youth" of Columbus, Ohio thought rioting after their team won a football game was an appropriate response.

Here's how we deal with dangerous rogue cops in Idaho...

a warning!

To whomever is setting these non-permitted traps, please stop. We've already had to free Deputy Vannatter twice this week. Also, as Deputy Fly found out, the powder on the powdered doughnuts you're using for bait is very hard to get out of our green uniforms.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this very delicate matter.

Pandering and Politically Correct Slaughter in Paris...

because we won't face the truth.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest actually said this yesterday in a press conference or briefing, or whatever the hell it's called when he drags his butt out to speak lie to reporters.
"There are some individuals that are using a peaceful religion and grossly distorting it, and trying to use its tenets to inspire people around the globe to carry out acts of violence. And we have enjoyed significant success in enlisting leaders in the Muslim community, like I said, both in the United States and around the world to condemn that kind of messaging, to condemn those efforts to radicalize individuals, and to be clear about what the tenets of Islam actually are.  And we’re going to redouble those efforts in the days and weeks ahead."
Got that everyone?  The White House is going to make sure we understand how peaceful Islam is and what they really believe.

Meantime, the fire chief in Atlanta just lost his job because he said homosexual acts were sinful as part of a 160 page book on Christian beliefs.

Let's make this very clear.  Islam demands that homosexuals be killed.  Christians believe that homosexual acts are sinful, but love the homosexual. But our leaders have no problem trying to destroy the Christian and defend the Muslim.

Not to be outdone, Bill Donohue, the head worm at the "Catholic" League, issued a statement that essentially said the people at Charlie Hebdo "asked for it."  The title of his statement says it all:  Muslims are Right to be Angry."

From the statement: (emphasis mine)
Stephane Charbonnier, the paper’s publisher, was killed today in the slaughter. It is too bad that he didn’t understand the role he played in his tragic death. In 2012, when asked why he insults Muslims, he said, “Muhammad isn’t sacred to me.” Had he not been so narcissistic, he may still be alive. source
Nothing like blaming the victim, Bill.  Thanks for your insight, you quasi Catholic apologist for Islam.

Here's the very un-PC comment I just left over at McNorman's Weblog in answer to her question, "Enough.  I will ask the un-PC question…if moderate Islamists are abhorred by the violence that the extremists wreak on the world, why do they not rise against these asshats?"
Until the world realizes we’re dealing with people who have been violent since Biblical times nothing will change. These people are of sub-standard intelligence with average IQ’s of about 75.
And that, my friends, is never going to happen. Canada is getting ready to import a gazillion more of these wretched sub-humans, and the US is taking another gazillion. High crime Cedar-Riverside in Minneapolis is swarming with these scabies and lice infected vermin, and the very PC Minneapolis Star-Trib won’t even report the truth.
These aforementioned Minneapolis Muslims don't have time to rebuke the so-called "extremists" because they're too busy demanding pork free halal food be stocked at the food bank.  You know - the place where they get free food.

My advice is to skip whatever the White House has to say about Islam and listen instead to Pat Condell.

Suicide: The ultimate act of selfishness...

people who commit suicide (IMO) are sick.

Their egos are so wounded that they can't see the damage they leave behind.  They have devolved into a complete state of narcissism where they have determined the world revolves around their pain. Many are schizophrenics - a very nasty affliction and not of their doing.

However, to willfully involve others in aiding your demise is just horrible.

The Blaze reports:

A man fatally shot by San Francisco police after entering a restricted parking lot and reaching for a replica gun inside his waistband left behind a suicide note (found on his phone), authorities said.

In the note, the man identified as Matthew Hoffman, 32, told officers he was using them to commit suicide.
“Dear Officer(s),”
“You did nothing wrong.”
“You ended the life of a man who was too much of a coward to do it himself. I provoked you. I threatened your life as well as the lives of those around me,” he continued. “You were completely within your legal rights to do what you did. You followed protocols. You did everything right.”
“I am so sad and I am so lonely. There is no place for me here. Please, don’t blame yourself. I used you,” he wrote. “I took advantage of you. I am so lost and I am so hopeless. God made a mistake with me. I shouldn’t be here. Please, take solace in knowing that the situation was out of your control. You had no other choice.”
While I sympathize with Matthew and applaud him for admitting that he "used" the police for his own death,  these officers, who were coerced into doing their job, will have to live with this the rest of their lives.

Is Dennis Prager right about Pope Francis?...

I would say yes with reservations.

In his article posted on Right Wing News , Pope Francis, the Climate and Leftism
(and what's up with those giant pictures of the authors on RWN?  I find them very disconcerting and rather odd.)

To sum up the article, Mr. Prager makes his case for Pope Francis being a leftie with focus on the Pope's upcoming encyclical on climate change which he will present to the UN in September.

In that assertion, I would have to agree with him.  I think the Pope is a product of his environment and, well, not very smart.  It really pains me to have to say that.

From the article (emphasis mine.)
"How are we to explain that at the very moment that the oldest Christian communities in the world are being violently destroyed; that while Christians are murdered, raped and tortured in Africa and the Middle East; and while horrific barbarities are committed daily in the name of God, the pope issues an encyclical and travels around the world to talk about climate change?"
"It is happening because leftism has taken over much of Catholicism, most of mainstream Protestantism, increasing numbers of evangelicals and most of non-Orthodox Judaism. Not to mention the secular worlds of the news media, entertainment media and academia."
However, Mr. Prager runs off the rails when he states:
In the long run, this will bring down the Church — just as it has mainstream Protestantism and non-Orthodox Judaism — as well as diminish decency on earth.
No, Mr. Prager.  The Church will still be here.  It may be a smaller, and hopefully, a more authentic Church, but God was very clear in scripture when he said, "And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

We've had far worse Popes than Francis.  My all time favorite is Pope Alexander VI, of the famous Borgia (Borja) family, who was Pope from11 August 1492 until his death on 18 August 1503.  His entire life was the stuff of soap operas.

As to the encyclical?  I'll reserve judgement until I read it.  I think it will be a fluff piece saying almost nothing of value.  The danger is the uncatechized Catholics, which nowadays is just about all of them,  the anti-Catholics, and the global warming cheerleaders will latch unto whatever he says and consider it science.  But, then, who are we to judge?

Boehner: In or Out?...

I predict in.

Sigh...
