In the Hospital

*****Poor little Elle was sooooo miserable last night. I was up most the night with her and she will spend tonight in the hospital getting fluids. I started to suspect pancreatitis yesterday. We have been treating her for over a week and for a few days she was much better.

*****They are doing blood work which the vet thinks will come back normal, even though he also suspects pancreatitis. Gastro-intestinal stuff for doggies is like us going to the doctor and saying we have a headache. You just have to start ruling out stuff.

*****The vet told me to look on the bright side. At least I'd get some sleep tonight. What a guy!

Update: Vet just called. Pancreatitis. He's started her on antibiotics and is very concerned with her protein screen which shows almost no protein at all so he is sending that test off to another lab for verification.
