Dinesh D'Souza: Death of a Nation...

excellent!

I apologize for my silence lately, but the fact is I had nothing to say.  Rather than waste my time, and more importantly - your time, I refrained from cobbling together posts just to post.

We also had a mini-heat wave reaching a staggering (for us) 107° degrees on August 10th. Even though our portable air conditioner did a magnificent job of keeping us comfortable the heat, accompanied by extremely low humidity, leaves a person feeling wiped.

During the heat wave I also had to deal with an insurance adjuster who, as per his job requirements, was determined to not fix my car that his client so rudely smashed up.  I'm sure he wasn't used to dealing with someone who was very pleasant, but very, very prepared.  If you'd like I'll do a post on how to deal with adjusters later this week.

After our little chat, he called back the next day and said, "Hey, good news.  We're going to fix your car and provide you with a rental."   But, of course you are, my precious little cabbage.

Death of a Nation

"A book is an intellectual argument.  A movie is an emotional narrative." Dinesh D'Souza

I can highly recommend seeing the movie and reading the book.  I'll let Dinesh speak for himself in this excellent interview.  It's well worth your time.

It's Monday Again

Funny how that day just rolls around every 7 days.  For naturally organized peeps (all 5 or so of you) Monday is a start to a new week of "getting stuff done."

For the rest of us squirrel brained souls, we've allowed it to become a  day of dread and anguish.

As I said in a previous post, quit picking on Monday.

Since my work around here was severely compromised by my cataract surgeries, the natural inclination is to sink into despair of ever catching up.  If you feel perpetually behind and anxious a simple "flow chart" will help.

I call such a list "putting things in order."  For instance, this morning I plan on working on finishing the landscaping on our pond area. My simple list looks like this:

-        Pond entrance
     Manure
     Transplant daylilies/Siberian iris
     Weed
      Plant black eyed Susan
      Straw
      H20 daylilies/front bed

Notice that the last item on my list is watering the front daylily bed which is in anticipation of weeding that area tomorrow.

Trust me on this, if you suffer from squirrel brain, you must do this for all your activities or you will end up being the last ball rattling around in a pinball machine.  In the pinball machine of life, you want to be the first ball down the hole - not the last.  Capisce?

There's another yuuuuge reason for putting on your blinders and following your list.  At the end of the day you will be able to actually see what you have accomplished.  You do not want to end your day with, "What the hell did I do today?"

As I said on that previous post on Monday being the most abused day of the week:

I welcome each Monday with great enthusiasm, enormous hope, and my tank full of energy.  Learn to love Monday.

The upcoming week...

will it be pivotal in our country's history?

One thing that will be pivotal around here is actually turning on our big screen TV to watch President Donald J. Trump give his SOTU on Tuesday.

The millionaire low-life celebrities are planning their own state-of-the union.  Who cares?

I've heard the Grammy's sucked. Was there actually any music presented?  No matter how you spin it, a bunch of half naked women gyrating to rap does not qualify as music.

Will the FISA memo be released?

The popcorn awaits!

Stefan Molyneux has a message for liberals:

It's a message that libtards will not hear nor acknowledge.

Why?

Because they are incapable of looking at facts.  They live in a bubble where all their little buddies echo their incoherent screeching.  They really believe they're for the "little guy" and wallow in their own virtue signalling while supporting everything that subverts goodness.

MAGA!

Is fired Google employee James Damore stupid, arrogant, or just naive?...

I'll save you trouble of wondering where I stand.  I vote naive.

He's clearly not stupid, nor is he the least bit arrogant.

What landed me on his side from almost the beginning is the fact that it's the libtards who are so outraged by what his memo said. And why is that?  Because he spoke the truth.

I might add that what the memo actually said is hard to determine since the MSM subverted and falsely reported on his document and published redacted and cherry picked versions of what he wrote minus his footnotes.

Here is the real document.

His naivety on how the world works is typical of someone his age.  When I was growing up my father believed anything that was printed in a newspaper because, gosh darn, it was in a newspaper so it had to be true.  I also realize that there are still people who think this way.  Our present day example of this is people who believe anything they read on the internet.

Adrienne's Axiom:

All news is fake news until proven otherwise.

We know that Google rigs your searches.  We know they data mine, subvert contrary opinions, and otherwise make it highly difficult to dig down to the truth.

The long march through the institutions includes the world wide web.

Our schools, universities, media, entertainment, and even churches are now well stocked with the liberals who wish to control us.  People who are more conservative have learned to keep their opinions to themselves.  Conservative teachers, professors, and journalists know that to express an opinion contrary to the prevailing virtue signalling SJW's will bring the hounds of hell crashing down on their heads.  The left will not stop until they destroy anyone who speaks the truth.

For James Damore to have learned this lesson so early in life is a blessing for him.  He's a smart guy and already has many job offers.

We can learn much from this young man who spoke the truth.

This is a very illuminating interview and well worth the time.  Listen and ponder.

Obama is claiming race relations have never been better...

after being forced to make a statement about the horrific attack by 4 black people on a white mentally challenged young man while they screamed fu*k white people, fu*k Donald Trump.

And then the four blacks, with a combined IQ lower than room temperature, played it live on Facecrap.

I wasn't going to comment on this, but after a horrific day of thinking about it to the point where I have become physically ill, I feel I must.  I was mugged once as many of you know.  My mugging didn't last for 24 or 48 hours and didn't involve torture.  But I will never forget the way my heart slammed against my chest thinking he was going to kill me.  I'm of relatively sound mind and normal IQ.  Can you, for just an instant, imagine what a mentally challenged person would feel like being taunted, beat,  and tortured for hours?  I fear he will never recover.

At first the police tried to say it wasn't racially or politically motivated.  Were they serious?  We all watched the video.  We all heard the words, and yet they really thought we'd just shake our heads and go on about our business.

Obama:
"I don't think it's accurate to say race relations are getting worse" he told host Jay Levine, saying things were also difficult in Chicago in the mid-1980s, when a block of white councilmen deliberately scuppered all proposals by a black mayor.
"In part because we see visuals of racial tensions, violence and so forth because of smart phones and the Internet," the president said.
"What we have seen as surfacing, I think, are a lot of problems that have been there a long time.
Whether it's tensions between police and communities, whether it's hate crimes of the despicable sort that has just now recently surfaced on Facebook."
Notice he never said it was a black on white hate crime.  He implied, instead, that it really was the fault of whites.  Because to him and his sycophants only white people can be racist.

And trust me on this (really), the social justice warriors will be screeching about it's not fair to blame all black people because a few and if we just gave them more money everything will be just great.  Well, I say tough.  The dysfunction is in the black inner cities.  They have to deal with it - not us.

Don Lemon, that affirmative action black homosexual over at CNN, who got drunk on air New Year's Eve and had his mic cut off said,"he doesn’t think the black thugs who kidnapped, beat, and cut a disabled white person were evil. He chalked it up to "bad home training".

Well, Don - why don't you take a day every week or so and go down to the black ghetto and mentor some of these poor misunderstood kids?  You won't, because no one in their right mind would go slinking around the ghetto.

Stefan Molyneux is deliciously un-PC and tells us why Hillary cannot be president...

worth every minute.

A man in touch with his inner woman
A few women over at Youtube took offense over what Stefan said about women.  Really?  I'm a woman, and completely agree with what he said.  Women marched, whined, and shouted about being equal.  Well, ladies - you can't have it both ways.  You no longer can take "offense", clutch your pearls, and claim a man is being unfair to women.  It simply doesn't work that way.  You've succeeded brilliantly in emasculating a good portion of the male population of this country and complain there's no good men around.

I was in the store yesterday and the "man" checking out in front of me was covered in tattoos, wearing a man bun, and had skinny little stick legs hanging out of his cargo shorts.  It was a sad, sad sight.

A perfect man for today's feminist.  Enjoy, ladies.

Stefan Molyneux: Procrastination and Passive Aggression...

and a wonderful way to overcome both.

Because politics is making me exhausted.

You may have the same reaction to the beginning of Stefan Molyneux's presentation that I did.  He will be talking about raising children, which will make you think; "Of course children are raised in such a manner precisely because they are children", and may want to turn off the video. Don't.  He will make it clear in a very short time.

After thinking about what he said, I realized I was raised by a mother who had vastly different ideas about how to raise a child from most people, and more like what Stefan was describing.  My feelings and ideas were validated by my mother.  I was given choices and was asked for feedback.  My mother used to say that you can't just keep saying "no" to everything a child does or says.  She believed in providing alternatives. "No you can't do such and such, but you can do this or that.

I can't ever remember being ordered to do something.  She never had to because she was the master of the psychological conditioning of children.  There was nothing she couldn't convince me to enjoy.  Pulling weeds?  Wowzer!  Cooking, cleaning, reading?  Count me in!  My father was no slouch either.  He  convinced me that caulking storm windows was just too cool and mowing the lawn was an art form worth learning.

The one thing she couldn't get me to do was keep my room somewhat neat.  I was a slob.  The story often told was that in an effort to make me care about neatness, a bulletin board was installed in my room.  Each evening, I carefully thumb tacked my clothes to the board.  It wasn't exactly what mom had in mind, but she let it go. When my room got really bad, she simply closed the door.

In time, I developed into a person who is very organized and somewhat of a clean freak.  Do I still leave a trail of messes?  Yep.  But, I'm aware and correct the problem on a daily basis.  Because it's my choice.  Remember that word - choice.

So what does passive aggression have to do with procrastination?  I doubt there is anyone who has not experienced being around a passive aggressive personality.  It may be your mate, your boss, even your best friend.  It may even be you. Passive aggressive people are the pinnacle of crazy making.  They are also the masters of procrastination.

I think I've read everything ever written about procrastination.  The same psychologists who write on procrastination rarely tie it to passive aggressive behavior.  They give you all sorts of tips to overcome procrastination, but Stefan Molyneux, in one simple video, brilliantly cuts to the heart of the matter, and may solve your procrastination problem forever.

I suggest you listen to the video, spend a few days mulling over how you were raised, and then listen to the video again.

You won't be sorry.

What's really behind the Dallas police being killed?...

let's let two black men and a white man give you the answer.

I think everything that could be said about this incident has been said.  I am too weary to plug in my 2 cents worth of insight.

I only have one cautionary statement to make.  Do not get sucked into the MSM or the liberal government puppets yanking your chain.  They are the major part of the problem.  Obama, Lynch, Mark Dayton, and all the rest of the race-baiters want nothing more than to foment a race war.  Do not fall for it.  Do not allow yourself to be manipulated.

After listening to Stefan Molyneux, Alfonzo Rachel, and Sheriff David Clarke, take the time to read the transcript of the interview Rush Limbaugh had with Heather MacDonald, author of The War on Cops: How the New Attack on Law and Order Makes Everyone Less Safe.  I have a link posted below.   All four of these people are telling the truth.  They deal with facts, those pesky little things that the gun-grabbing Marxists in our government choose to ignore.

RUSH LIMBAUGH:
Okay.  The war on cops has now come to Dallas, Texas.  The war on police has come to Dallas, Texas.  Now, after the program yesterday I interviewed Heather Mac Donald for the next issue of the Limbaugh Letter.  She has a book out.  She's a scholar, Manhattan Institute, and a prolific writer.  And her most recent book is: The War on Cops: How the New Attack on Law and Order Makes Everyone Less Safe. Not just the cops, but particularly the cops.

It was a compelling interview, and this morning I feverishly reached out and asked her if she had some time because she said some incredible things.  Her research has produced some incredible statistics, and I want you to hear it from her.  So she has graciously consented to come back and she joins us now.  Heather, thanks for making time today.  I really appreciate it. On the Brink of War and Economic Collapse | Bill Whittle and Stefan Molyneux...

let's step away from the "red cup controversy" (which is one of the most ridiculous non-controversies, ever), the tiny minority of college students who are getting way more attention than they deserve, and spend some quality time with two people discussing really important matters.

Yes, I understand it's almost an hour and a half.  What were you planning to do instead?  Perhaps watch cat videos, cruise the pictures of celebrities at the Daily Mail, or any of the other myriad ways we have of wasting time?

I know about this because I'm often guilty of just such behavior. Often, when tired, instead of taking a nap (I'm nap resistant), I've gotten in the habit of mindlessly clicking about from here to there looking for something to engage me.

The most valuable aspect of the world wide web is our ability to access world class thinkers from the comfort of our homes.  And it's free.

When I saw this link on Iotw Report, with the admonition, "This is how your time should be spent. With these guys", my first reaction was, "Oh, crap - an hour and a half?"

It took about 2 minutes into the video to be completely absorbed, and the time just flew by.

Take some time this weekend to watch.  You won't be sorry.
