Memo to the World: Caroline Kennedy has officially and publicly gone over to the dark side.

she's going to have some 'splainin to do.
"As a Catholic woman, I take reproductive health seriously, and today, it is under attack. This year alone, more than a dozen states have passed more than 40 restrictions on women’s access to reproductive health care. That’s not the kind of future I want for my daughters or your daughters. Now isn’t the time to roll back the rights we were winning when my father was president. Now is the time to move this country forward." source
Catch that everyone?  As a CATHOLIC woman. Not just any woman, but a Catholic woman.  No, Caroline, that is diametrically opposed to not only Catholic teaching, but to the beliefs of every decent person in this country.  Killing babies is not health care - particularly if you happen to be the baby involved.   And you're wishing for a future where your daughters can have abortions?  Even Bill O'Reilly was shocked.

From Leila, at Little Catholic Bubble:
Caroline Kennedy invoked her Catholicism to advocate for unfettered abortion in America. Let me restate: She used the very fact of her Catholicism to champion the cause of abortion on demand. Oh, yes she did. So that those hearing her would think it's okay to be a Catholic and advocate for abortion!   read the rest - she does a fine fisking of Ms Fluke, too.

It's Thursday...

what's going on.

I need to get some serious rest before the main event this evening.  Three good things about yesterday's performances at the freak show, a.k.a. The Democratic Convention, are: 1) no one will remember one thing about Clinton's campaign speech for his wife, 2) Elizabeth Warren has proven to be a bigger prevaricator than we suspected (and what's with her using her tongue repeatedly to dislodge a chunk of food from the inside of her cheek?), and 3) Sandra Fluke needs a better bra. It was entertaining, however, to watch the fluke's smarmy little smirk every time she thought she hit a home run with some silly verbal zinger which probably no one except her understood.

By the way, Ms Fluke is described as an attorney on the official Democratic National Convention site.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe she has passed the bar, which means she is not an attorney.  If she recently graduated and the bar is given on the last Wednesday in July and the last Wednesday in February, it would be impossible for her to have sat for the test.

Calling yourself a lawyer without first passing the bar, and getting your license to practice law, constitutes the unauthorized practice of law, which, in most states, is a crime punishable by hefty fines, and maybe a little bit of jail time.

In his dressing room, Obama is still dancing around to "Eye of the Tiger" on his Zune, psyching himself up for the clash of egos. But Romney isn't playing that game, neither is anyone else. Obama's idea of achievement is that of a man who has never achieved anything. The answer is always to push harder, so long as someone else is doing the pushing. Walking egos don't believe in the forces of history and don't understand that before people vote, they don't check commercials, they check their wallets. Walking egos don't understand that people, even people who work for the government, who are proud to wear the scarlet D, see politicians as employees selected to do a job. And that in the privacy of the booth, they will vote for change.

Obama outraged over Sarah Palin being called really, really bad names by the lefty media...

not so much.

However, my outrage meter is running on over-drive...

This scumbag lowlife coke-sniffing lying Marxist, who is in all probability living on the "down-low", and who continues to suck up oxygen on our planet cares about Ms. Sandra "I'm too cheap to buy my own contraceptives" Fluke, because he wouldn't want his daughters to be called such names.  Really? Really??

Remember when Letterman made a crude joke about the 14 year old daughter of Todd and Sarah Palin and Obama jumped on the phone to console her and made a public statement about what Letterman had done?  Of course you don't, because he never did any such thing, and also because we all know it's alright to do such things to a conservative woman.  What he did do is make several appearances on the Letterman show.  Think your precious daughters may question you about that when they're old enough to understand how they're being used?

From the Hill:

President invokes his daughters in response to Limbaugh controversy
President Obama said he called Sandra Fluke, the college student at the center of the Rush Limbaugh controversy, after thinking about how his own daughters would have handled the criticism.
“I thought about Malia and Sasha,” Obama said at a press conference Tuesday. “And one of the things I want them … to be able to do is speak their minds in a civil and thoughtful way, and I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names they’re being good citizens.”  read the rest

Buried under the unrelenting Sandra Fluke coverage is some very important stuff...

isn't her 15 minutes of infamy fame over yet?

Dolan Urges Catholics to Become More Active in Politics
HICKSVILLE, N.Y. — Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan told Roman Catholics on Saturday that in an era when the church was fighting the government on several fronts, they needed to make their voices heard more clearly in the political sphere.

Speaking at a diocesan convocation on public policy here, Cardinal Dolan, who is the archbishop of New York and president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, said, “We are called to be very active, very informed and very involved in politics.” READ THE REST
I've been saying this ever since I moved away from only posting on Catholic "stuff", because, you see, politics is Catholic stuff whether you wish to admit it or not.

The end result of the actions of Catholics who consider themselves "above the fray", is the election of the most pro-abortion, radically anti-religious president in the history of this republic.  Catholics who know very little about their faith and bought into the "hope and change" are responsible for the current war being waged on the Church by the Obama administration.  How's that "staying above the fray" working out for you?

Harsh?  I think not.

Let's Kill the Newborns

Ever since that article from a couple of individuals who consider themselves "ethicists", advocating for the right for parents to kill their babies, I have been unable to write about it.  Why?  Because I actually know people who would see nothing at all wrong with this approach. The realization of the depravity of these individuals left me rather stunned.   I always knew they were a bit "off", but really had a hard time acknowledging their basic evilness.

I admit that even evil people can occasionally do nice things. After all, Hitler loved dogs.  And some evil people like to serve soup at the local kitchens for poor people.  None of this changes the fact that some people are evil and are probably not able to be redeemed.

Most of these folks who believe in killing newborns (even, in some cases, up to many months old), also laud philosopher Peter Singer as their hero.  They think he's brilliant.  Peter Singer not only advocates killing babies, but thinks if you and your doberman share a close bond, you should solidify that closeness by engaging in sex with each other.

The images that pop into my mind at the thought give new meaning to the word "disgusting."  Do married couples who admire Singer engage in threesomes with their pets, or do they just have an open marriage?  Inquiring minds want to know...

American Thinker:  Article Advocating 'After-Birth Abortion' Mugs Liberals with Reality
Conservatives were horrified when the Journal of Medical Ethics published an article advocating "after-birth abortion" for handicapped, or just inconvenient, babies.  They are correct that it is a disgusting piece of amoral analysis, but that is its virtue.  As much as conservatives hate it, progressives hate it more.  Many are convinced that it's a plant by the pro-life crowd.  What progressives cannot articulate, but intuitively understand, is that by applying a reductio ad absurdum approach to the notion of abortion, the article forces pro-abortion people to confront the Big Lie that underpins their willingness to terminate a pregnancy, even an advanced one.  READ THE REST

RightKlik:   Julian Savulescu's Bloody Evil: Making "Ethics" Irrelevant?
[...]In promoting barbarism under the banner of "medical ethics," Savulescu is turning his field of study into an unenlightened, illiberal, atavistic charnelosophy, hardly distinguishable from the moral codes of the 20th century's most industrious sociopaths. If the field medical "ethics" becomes morally repugnant, can medical ethicists expect to remain relevant?  READ THE REST
