All Saints Day...video

 O God Beyond All Praising.

November 1st in the Catholic Church is All Saints Day in which we honor all the saints in heaven.  It seems to honor only named saints, but the day commemorates all those who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven.

O God Beyond All Praising is not a song specific to All Saints Day, but it's one of my favorites.

The St. Theresa Adult Choir performing "O God Beyond All Praising" is also my favorite rendition, because the choir represents how people can come together in praise of God.

In this choir, which I might add does a splendid job, you see young people, older folks, black, Asian, and white people all singing together.

From today's lesson:

Apocalypse 7: 9-12

9 After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. 10 They cried out in a loud voice, saying,

"Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

11 And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, 12 singing,

"Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom
and thanksgiving and honour
and power and might
be to our God for ever and ever! Amen."

The enemies of God have been hard at work to divide us according to our age, sex, color, and economic status. Don't let them win.

In just two days, the hounds of hell may (probably will) be unleashed on our country. Donald Trump and all people who stand on the side of goodness and beauty need your prayers.

Pray as if your life depends on it, because it does.

O God Beyond All Praising
Thaxted (Gustav Holst, 1874-1934; Words by Michael Perry, 1942-1996

O God, beyond all praising, we worship you today
and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay;
For we can only wonder at every gift you send,
at blessings without number and mercies without end:
We lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word,
We honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord.

The flower of earthly splendor in time must surely die,
Its fragile bloom surrender to you, the Lord most high;
But hidden from all nature the eternal seed is sown
Though small in mortal stature, to heaven’s garden grown:
For Christ the man from heaven from death has set us free,
And we through him are given the final victory.

Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring,
That we who know your favor may serve you as our King;
And whether our tomorrow be filled with good or ill,
We’ll triumph through our sorrows and rise to praise you still:
To marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways,
And make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise!

Free Health Care

But, but - it's freeeeeeeeee...

And that, dear reader, is the real reason for the "little people" backers of government run health care.  We have millions of millions of people in this country who have been swamped with "compassion" from the liberal lefties.  They really believe health care will be "free" when the government is paying.

Earth to moonbats - nothing is free.  At the risk of not sounding "nice" - guess what?  I don't want to pay for your health care (even though I'm already toting a big portion of it already.) I'm tired of you cluttering up the emergency room because your kid has a cold while hard-working citizens wait for care.  I'm tired of paying your rent, bailing you out due to your bankruptcy, putting food on your table, and extending your unemployment benefits because you're too good lazy to take a lower paying job. I'm tired of supporting your houseful of illegitimate children while your "baby daddy" is off starting even more families.  I'm tired of you causing the majority of the crime and then screaming victim.  I sick and tired of paying more for an American made product because your union wages drive the prices up.    And I don't want to press 1 for English.  I'm tired of you all...

That being said ....

Red State has one of the most comprehensive overviews, including paragraph numbers for reference, of the 1900 page Pelosi monstrosity.

I'm still trying to figure out what "obesity screening" is and why it should be paid for. Shouldn't a properly trained doctor be able to take a look at his patient and make a judgment about the current state of the patient's weight?  Heck, I can take a stroll through Walmart and pass plenty of judgment.

And on to those employer mandates.  Keep your plan? Keep your doctor?  Check out this little survey The Blog Prof provided for us:

All Saints Day
November 1

 God our Father, source of all holiness,
the work of Your hands is manifest in Your saints, the beauty of
Your truth is reflected in their faith.

May we who aspire to have part in their joy
be filled with the spirit that blessed their lives,
so that having shared their faith on earth
may we also know their peace in your kingdom.

Don't forget the clock thingy...spring forward, fall back, doncha know!

....Blessed are you, O Lord our God, for the triumph of Christ in the lives of your saints. Receive the prayers we offer this day and help us to run our course with faith, that we may swiftly come to your eternal kingdom. Glory to you forever and ever.

* "Kerry Picket of Eyeblast gives us the 1-minute primer on Selflessness and Patriotism in the Age of Obama. This can best be defined by keeping one’s mouth shut as the government drops the barrier of “excessive income” progressively lower" Ed Morrissey, Hot Air

****"Because, remember: it’s selfish to think that you can distribute the wealth you earned more efficiently and intelligently than Obama and his small, elite group of policymakers. Why, look how well the government performed when it decided it knew better how to grant mortgages than the lenders themselves!" Ed Morrissey
