Local Fallen Soldier Arrives Back in Spokane...

Patriot Guard Riders escorts him to funeral home.
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. - With his family waiting nearby the plane carrying the body of U.S. Army Sergeant 1st Class Cliff Beattie arrived at the Spokane Airways Airport on Thursday. Beattie was killed in Iraq by an IED on May 22nd after enemy forces attacked.
At the airport a crowd of family, friends, supporters and military personnel waited for the plane to arrive. Sgt Beattie leaves behind a wife and two teenage children.

The flag draped coffin carrying SFC Beattie was taken by a white hearse to the funeral home, Hazen and Jaeger on Monroe.

Nearly 50 members of local motorcycle groups led by the Patriot Guard Riders escorted the procession to the funeral home, Hazen and Jaeger on 1306 North Monroe Street.

Patriot Guard Spokesperson Larry Griffith said "We're bringing somebody home the right way. We didn't want to bring him home this way and we didn't want to have to talk to his wife about it but if we have to bring him at least he's coming home the right way with the recognition that he earned."

God Bless the Patriot Guard
and may God bless and keep Sgt Beattie
