We easily go over to pagan ideas, putting aside our faith, our truth, in order to accommodate the evil of people who will not accommodate us! To promote their ideas they attack us personally calling us the far right, ultra-conservative, bigoted, homophobic, hate mongers, holy rollers, and other epithets. This silences many Catholics. Religious leaders of every stripe are not to tell their congregations how to vote; that is if they want to maintain their non-profit tax status. Now if they are truly not political and only religious it would seem they would teach their religion and leave alone political instructions to the members of their congregation.
I believe all churches should be taxed. Speaking of not taxing the rich more because he thinks we are jealous of the rich, is not the Catholic religion. It's his opinion of it.

However, you may want to review what the Constitution actually says about separation of church and state.
