More on "Social Justice" & Glenn Beck

I wrote this a few days ago on what Glenn Beck said about the phrase "social justice" being code for socialism.  Nothing has happened since to change my mind that Glenn hit the center of the target.

Glenn Beck, Social Gospel and the Spammish Inquisition

Like him or hate him, you have to admire Glenn Beck’s ability to take a Louisville Slugger to one beehive after another, with Winnie-the-Pooh like indifference to the consequences. The common thread, largely lost on his critics, is that these are all Progressive beehives. Beck’s concern about the Obama administration, Democrats, Republicans, and, for all I know, The Fraternal Order of Water Buffalo’s, is the extent to which they have been infiltrated by Progressive ideology, which he sees as the great cancer on the Republic. You can agree with this or not but that should be the focus of the argument. read the rest

If I could ban one phrase from Catholic theology for the next 500 years, it would be the phrase "social justice." What started out as a noble effort to transform social institutions to reflect the teaching of the Church has degenerated over the last 40 years into nothing more than liberal politics wrapped in ecclesiastical garb. What a travesty!
