Let's Pull the Plug on Granny

Anyone who doesn't find this disturbing is either a teenager who doesn't believe they will ever get old, or someone who is certifiably insane. Disturbing is an understatement. The word should be evil, because that's exactly what this is - evil!

Evil is word not often heard anymore. The people that consider themselves the "intellectual elite" would not use the word. They consider themselves to be above all that superstitious mumbo jumbo.

American Thinker has the lowdown on this reprehensible article.

I was wrong last week when I declared that Newsweek's cover showing a baby next to a headline declaring that we're all born racist was evidence that the mainstream media had hit bottom and destroyed itself. It was intellectual arrogance on my part that led me to underestimate the determination of Newsweek's editors to find new deeper bottoms to hit.
This week's Newsweek cover exceeds the sheer breathtaking ugliness of last week's cover: "The Case for Killing Granny." Alongside a photo of an electrical plug. The cover story is penned by Evan Thomas, (Andover, Harvard, Virginia Law), currently teaching at Princeton, alongside Peter Singer, who believes newborn infants can be killed because they lack "rationality, autonomy, and self-consciousness" and thus don't qualify for per sonhood.

Oh my gosh, that story is unbelievable! This is what truly scares me about Obama and his followers. You would not believe (well, maybe you would) the disrespect for women and senior citizens by that group.

For one thing, notice how they always refer to this as "killing granny". It's just another way of dehumanizing or belittling women and senior citizens. Just slap some label on them and they no longer are human beings and therefore, easier to "dispose of".

My mom is in her 80's and in the past she has had breast cancer and she has had a mild stroke. She also has a heart defect which requires her to keep her blood thinned through medication. This medication needs constant adjustment, therefore she needs to get a blood test (finger prick) every two or three weeks and then when the levels are determined, her meds are adjusted. Now...if Obama's health care plan goes into effect, will they allow my mother to stay on that medication which will cost medicare the cost of blood work every few weeks or will my mom (granny) have to deal with the chance of her heart failing or having another stroke and dying?

But what do they care....she's not "useful" to "society" anymore, according to Obama.

I grew up with Newsweeks cluttering up the family room and the bathroom. Required reading for discussion.

But boy can we discuss now.

Who is useful? Really.
