Typical Obama

I'm wondering why no one has remarked on this snippet from our current President's speech at Notre Dame. The closing words of this segment of his speech should tell you, once again, what type of person has been elected.

Obama tells us over and over again who he really is, and the Kool Aid drinkers just refuse to hear the message. He is telling you that he still believes people who oppose abortion are"right-wing ideologues who want to take away a woman's right to choose." He thinks by scrubbing the words off his web-site we should be happy and relieved. Wow, finally a President who really understands.

Notice he manages to get a plug in for his book while trying to demonstrate to his audience what a "fair-minded" person he really is.

As I considered the controversy surrounding my visit here, I was reminded of an encounter I had during my Senate campaign, one that I describe in a book I wrote called The Audacity of Hope. A few days after I won the Democratic nomination, I received an email from a doctor who told me that while he voted for me in the primary, he had a serious concern that might prevent him from voting for me in the general election. He described himself as a Christian who was strongly pro-life, but that's not what was preventing him from voting for me.

What bothered the doctor was an entry that my campaign staff had posted on my website - an entry that said I would fight "right-wing ideologues who want to take away a woman's right to choose." The doctor said that he had assumed I was a reasonable person, but that if I truly believed that every pro-life individual was simply an ideologue who wanted to inflict suffering on women, then I was not very reasonable. He wrote, "I do not ask at this point that you oppose abortion, only that you speak about this issue in fair-minded words."

Fair-minded words.

After I read the doctor's letter, I wrote back to him and thanked him. I didn't change my position, but I did tell my staff to change the words on my website.

New Rape of the Working Class to be Announced!

Robert Stacy McCain is gloating over the fact he beat Memorandum to the punch this morning on this newest piece of legislation. I heard a rumor that Stacy was at his computer by 2 am. He has managed to collect an amazing amount of information for us - Thanks, Stacy!

This bill will be adding approximately $1300.00 to cost of an automobile in just a few short years. Do you think Obama, Nancy Pelosi, et al care one whit about that? If they were so darn worried about the quality of the air, maybe they should park their gas-guzzling private jets and use the phone.

Obama to announce emissions rules

In advance of President Obama's big auto emissions event this afternoon, the White House sent out its spin on the proposals, plus a list of those attending the announcement.

Obama is outlining new fuel efficiency standards as part of his broader goal of reducing pollution from vehicle tailpipes. read more

Obama cozies up with the atheists!

New Schedule and other minor wonders......

*****Just starting this week on what I hope will become permanent changes in my schedule. I was so inspired by Ironic Catholics Why Go to Daily Mass, that I have started to attend morning Mass on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (the only days it is available.) After Mass I head to the gym. This means that by 10:00 am I have prayed, sweated, showered and dressed. Hubby has joined me on this quest to be a better person and a much better Catholic.

*****I have some interesting follow up to the post on the San Francisco post re: pro-homosexual curriculum in their schools and also the ramifications of the ridiculous "cash for clunkers" bill.

*****Meantime, I hope you are all ready to become or continue being Blue Fish.

And still more to make your blood boil:

He managed to make the atheists of this country very, very happy according to the following article. Never mind us radical right-wing extremist types clinging to our guns and religion.

And you folks who voted for him still don't believe there is an evil agenda in this administration?

Obama tones down National Day of Prayer observance...

(CNN) -- "For the past eight years, the White House recognized the National Day of Prayer with a service in the East Room, but this year, President Obama decided against holding a public ceremony." read the rest

Right now I'm off to run errands. I'll be back because, as usual, I have a lot to say (don't little old Italian ladies always have lots to say??)

Vote - Vote - Vote

This will give you all time to pop on over to the Crescat and vote for me again (Therese over at Aussie Coffee Shop has informed me you can vote everyday - thanks Therese!) And while you're there vote for her, too....

Homosexual Lessons in San Francisco Schools

*****Spend some time on the website the SF Unified School District has put together in order to: "support educators with tools and resources to address lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) topics in a school setting", and tell me again why anyone would allow their children to attend a "government" school.

*****Particularly alarming is this statement from their website under "Things to Consider"

*****"A discussion about gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning people does not constitute a discussion about human sexuality or family life education and does NOT require parent notification according to the California Education Code." (the emphasis on the word "not" is original to their website and was NOT added by yours truly)

*****Maybe the schools should try teaching the kids to read and write, a skill set sadly lacking in most high school graduates, and let the parents answer questions about deviant sexual practices.

Robert Stacy McCain highlights this issue in his post "Joe the Plumber didn't get the memo."

I know I keep saying this but.........is this a joke??

Obama, lawmakers agree on "cash-for-clunkers" bill

WASHINGTON (Reuters)President Barack Obama and Democratic lawmakers reached agreement on Tuesday on a legislative proposal designed to stimulate U.S. auto sales, which have fallen to near 30-year lows.

The one-year plan crafted by members of the U.S. House of Representatives would offer vouchers worth up to $4,500 for owners to replace their less fuel efficient vehicles for models that get better gas mileage. read the rest of this lunacy
