The "jobs" speech...
otherwise known as the "take a bunch of money that we don't have and give it to union workers."
I girded my loins and watched the Won say no less than 15 times, "We need to pass this bill now!" That fool knows that bill is not going to get passed, which is a very good thing. I admit to slipping into the land of Winkin, Blinken, and Nod a few times so I may have missed the part about how we were going to actually pay for this stupidity.
One of the guests of honor was Richard Trumka, union boss par excellence. In view of the fact that at the same time his union members were wreaking havoc on the ports in Washington state, holding people hostage, and damaging property brought to mind the famous scene from the Godfather when the nephew of Michael Corleone was being baptized while the Mafia soldiers were slaughtering their "enemies."
Farfetched? Not at all...
