Who's really paying all the taxes...

certainly not the poor beleaguered loony lefties who demonize the "rich."

My buddy Randy had a great idea for dealing with politicians:  " How about every time a politician says something stupid we confiscate their personal property and sell it at auction?"  That would also work well for all the lefties who stand around with pitch forks demanding the "rich" pay their "fair share."  How much would be fair?  Fifty percent?  Ninety five percent?  How about every last dime they make?  Would that satisfy you?

Confiscating all the wealth of the "rich" people wouldn't satisfy one day's worth of interest payments on our national debt.  And since the majority of people don't pay any income tax at all, what do you suppose the next move would be for these deep thinkers?

These New Age wannabe Socialists sit around drinking their soy lattes (at $5.00 a pop), decrying the "unfairness" of the current system, while contributing to the junk science of global warming with their massive output of hot air.

Once again, we will post some facts.  You know, those things that can be verified.  Things that are true.  And no, you can't get away with saying "what's true for you is not necessarily true for me."  This is math.  Plain and simple.  Four plus four will always be eight no matter how many times you insist it's ten.

From PolitiFact.com with a hearty hat-tip to Weasel Zipper

"Fifty-one percent -- that is, a majority of American households -- paid no income tax in 2009. Zero. Zip. Nada."
"But right now, the fact (is) that according to the Committee on Joint Taxation, 51 percent -- that is, a majority of American households -- paid no income tax in 2009. Zero. Zip. Nada. … Actually, to show how out of whack things have gotten, 30 percent of American households actually made money from the tax system by way of refundable tax credits -- the Earned Income Tax Credit, among others. So 51 percent of American households paid no income tax in 2009, but 30 percent actually made money under the current system."
The fact is (there's that pesky little word again), the biggest whiners on the loony left not only don't pay any taxes, they instead reap rewards through things such as the earned income credit.
How did we get to the point where most Americans don’t pay federal income taxes? Our colleagues at PolitiFact Virginia explained it a few months ago while checking a similar claim by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va. The main reason is that the U.S. employs a tax system not just to collect funds, but to distribute them as well. (emphasis mine)
We patriots keep wondering how anyone with more than two black eyed peas rattling around in their heads could possibly  think Obamanomics was the answer to their problems. It's really quite simple.  Obama demonizes and blames everyone for his problems, and by extension, the same people the whiners and slackers in our society blame.  It makes these people feel vindicated when Obama jumps on the private jet industry as being a leading cause of our problems.  They love it when the oil industry gets slammed, and they become positively giddy when Obama trashes "rich" people.

Guess what?  The poseur in the White House is laughing at you for being the fools you are, while he heads off for another round of golf, or flies away for another multi-million dollar vacay.   Since entering office, his biggest accomplishment has been to create class warfare and embolden the victim mentality, while his followers, the useful idiots, end up paying the biggest price. I say that because "bitter clingers" will always win.  While you're sitting in your mom's basement wondering what the hell happened, we'll be rebuilding the country from the ground up.  After a long day of work, we'll sit around and share a laugh and tip a beer (probably one we've brewed ourselves.)  You, on the other hand, will be unable to either brew a beer, afford one, or have anything to laugh about.  Enjoy your world!

Did you hear Marco Rubio last week saying "We don't need new taxes... we need new taxpayers!"

Amen

Shhh, you're going to confuse the lefties with all of those facts.

Oh, I can vouch for the lack of taxpayers. My family actually got back more than we paid into the federal system (unless you count state and local taxes, but this is a federal discussion!) I found it it to be quite baffling, although fortunately my self employment status reduced the refund some. You know how self employed folks are vilified in the tax system. But my husband made a lot more, which caused the overall net gain. I at least want to reassure you that, despite our ridiculous personal federal taxes, I will never vote liberal. They can't pay us legal tax kickbacks to keep us quiet and keep votes coming. We value America's foundation and our freedom more than tax refunds, and we never have and never will vote politicians who seek to buy us off and destroy America.

Elizabeth - we have received money back also and the word "baffled" is perfect. I can remember saying, "How exactly is it that we are getting a refund when we haven't paid anything?" Strange...
