Remember the homosexual couple voted king and queen of their prom?

I called them "sad little homosexual creatures" and stand by that statement.  To verify my opinion I interviewed a young lady recently graduated from high school.  I asked her how most high school age kids felt about this sort of thing.  The end result was what I expected.

That "sad little homosexual couple" was sad because, according to this nice nineteen year old girl,  the majority of the kids were laughing at them, not with them, .   That's right folks.  Like Carrie, in Stephen King's novel, most of the kids, according to my source, would find the whole situation a time for merriment and scorn, at the expense of the homosexual couple.

That's what I call sad.

And anyone who thinks the homosexual agenda, whether it be "marriage", adoption, or any other special rights they can dream up will not affect religious freedom is deluded.

Adrienne- I do remember yesterday finding a story about this and in the comments were a few left by students who went to that high school and they said that the student body voted for them because they like the boys and supported them, that it had nothing to do with laughing at them.

Regardless, and I hope you don't take offense that this, but is it really the Christian thing to do to make disparaging remarks about gays because of who they are? I know the Catholic Church says that we are supposed to hate the sin, and not the sinner? What have these kids done that deserves to be called names or looked down on?

I don't know, I just wonder if this is what our faith teaches us.

We had a new girl join our Girl Scout troop. All we knew about her was that her parents were atheists, so for camp, one of the moms brought some Sunday school-type crafts and her friend that invited her was prepared to share the gospel, because she won't hear that in school.

Turns out this 13 yo girl was adopted by two lesbians and felt a need to share with the troop all about lesbianism. The oldest girl in the troop, a 16 yo was told to watch her and redirect conversation, as we didn't want the 7 year olds to go home from camp talking about homos.

This poor child is so very confused and is trying to get girls to like her at school, as that is all she knows. These dykes have also adopted a little boy, God help him.

I asked the leader, if these "moms" were unaware that they sent their daughter to camp with a conservative Christian, predominately homeschooling GS troop. They were so involved that they had absolutely no clue who they were sending their daughter on an overnight trip with. To contrast, me or my friends would have run a background check on you and visited your house regularly for 6 months before I'd let you take my kid anywhere.

Nunly - I made no disparaging remarks about those two boys. Quite the opposite. It's appalling that A. the school would allow such a thing and B. putting people in the position of being laughed at is cruel. I feel sorry for those boys.

Apparently the one came dressed as Lady Gaga.

These boys are being encouraged by a school, supported by public tax dollars, to identify themselves to the world based on the manner in which they engage in the sexual act. This same school is prohibited by law to have prayer before a commencement exercise or football game.

The Christian thing to do is not encourage people in their sinful ways.

In view of the fact that I can count my homosexual friends in the hundreds hardly makes me a "hater."

Republicanmom - the girl that I queried about this situation told me there were very few homosexuals (male) in our highschool.

But----she did mention how many lesbians there were. Lots! I told her I don't believe they were lesbians but were instead girls that, through our culture, had been taught that "if it feels good, do it." Men and women, as I'm sure you know, don't approach sex in the same way. That's sad, too.

Of course it was ridicule. It's no different than a guy entering a beauty contest dressed in drag only these girls didn't know it.

I'm sorry Adrienne..I think it was calling them "sad creatures" and the word "nauseating" in your last post that gave me the impression that you were disparaging the teens involved in this story.

I guess I'm trying to see it on the side of those involved in this story. From what I've read of interviews of those in the school who voted for them, they did not do so out of hate or to make fun of them. And to be honest, I enjoyed seeing how excited the kids were after the fact, they didn't seem in the least bit upset or that they felt as if it was all a cruel hoax. If it were nothing more than cruelty, wouldn't they have been subjected to jeers after they were announced King and Queen?
