Early this morning (on what is shaping up to be a slow news day - thank goodness), I ran across an article at Hot Air Dem Rep wants to make bullying a federal offense.
I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. While the economy is in a free-fall, unemployment is at an all-time high, food prices are skyrocketing, gas prices continue to rise, Japan is having a melt-down, and the middle east is on fire, the loony left wants the feds to oversee bullying in schools? Isn't that something the schools should be handling?Rep. Jackie Speier, California Democrat, will introduce a bill that would require schools to report incidents of bullying against children diagnosed with conditions like Down syndrome and Aspergers to the federal government. It would also mandate that any federal dollars that promote anti-bullying programs focus partially on that group. read the rest
The solution is not vouchers as many believe. The solution is to shut down the Department of Education and privatize the schools. These could be smaller neighborhood schools that wouldn't require a "district" stocked full of over-paid bureauroweenies sucking up the education dollars, and where kids would actually be able to read their diploma when they graduated.
Here's a good example of the priorities of the Department of Education:
Conservatives on Fire asks the million dollar question: When is the Next Election for EPA Director?
The EPA is another department that should hit the skids.
Lonely Conservative defends the new Republicans: Can We Give Then A Little Time Here?
May I join with her by saying it took a hundred years to get in the mess we're in and one election isn't going to fix it (if it's even fixable and I have my doubts on that issue.) The only way to get rid of the hundreds and hundreds of largely unconstitutional federal agencies is little by little. In the meantime, expect things to get ugly - very ugly.

There are no restraints on the Leftist’s behavior because he has rejected all the restraints demanded of people with Free Will. There are no ties to the shared beliefs that make a group of people a civilization. The Leftist possesses free license to do as he pleases, however, as with all things in life, there is a trade-off. In holding free license, the bearer finds that he is eternally miserable because when there is no standard to live up to, no nobility to maintain, no honor to preserve, there is absolutely nothing to admire. All the Leftist is left with his self-contempt and self-hatred, like so many Gollums. He sees everyone as a reflection of himself. And he loathes himself and, as TL wrote, ‘then they magnify that to fit their perception of others’. Bob Belvedere

Hubby has said that I should stop posting cute kitteh pictures. He thinks it confuses my readers. I told him my readers were not that easily confused. You aren't, are you?

Bob - picky, picky. So it's Danish. Aren't we all Irish today? The bottle is green and the kitteh can't read...
The Obama administration officials are masters of bullying. Maybe, they should look at themselves first?
Cute pic! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Paddy's Day, A.
You can't have too many cute kitty pics, I should know.
Just watch the footage from Madistan of union thugs bullying those who don't tow their line.
From Stacy McCain: "...The privileged never surrender privilege willingly. They employ demagogic appeals to rally others to their self-interested “cause” by demonizing those who dare challenge them. And if someone gets hurt in the process, if some of those duped by the demagoguery decide to turn wrathful words into violent deeds . . .Madison has become the Neshoba County, Mississippi, of this season. “Workers’ rights” is the Jim Crow of 2011 and government-employee unions are the new Klan."
Adrienne don't you know that the Constitution gives the federal government express power to raise armies, regulate inter-state commerce and combat bullying in schools? It's in article four section three. ;)
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bullies in charge of bullying, makes perfect sense to them....Hope you had a great St Paddy's day with that drunk kitty.
Sorry, I'm too confused by teh kitteh pic to comment.
Eh, I wonder if the bullying regulation applies to the unions?
In actual fact, if schools and parents don't get a handle on bullying at the elementary-school level, the situation continues to worsen.
We all know from historical fact that whatever the federal government tries to manage ends up being mismanaged -- to say the least.
Thanks for the link Adrienne. It's greatly appreciated!
Thanks Adrienne for the Quote Of The Day Award. I am honored.
PS: The school spying link belongs to Bungalow Bill, not moi.
