Wisconsin: Reason Number 4,085 to Homeschool

These are the faces of the people teaching your children...

There have been reports that teachers actually dragged students to some of these protests. Is that even legal without the parents consent?

I have long advocated for the privatization of schools. Dump the Department of Education, the local school boards, over-paid administrators, principals who make more money than the average attorney or doctor, and let the cream rise to the top.  Quit stealing money from taxpayers to fund a failed system that turns out functional illiterates.

As for the teachers marching around in Wisconsin protesting?  Fire them.  Immediately.

From Doug Ross:

At the federal level, President Obama's budget calls for $77.4 billion to be allocated to the Department of Education, which represents a 22 percent increase from 2010, and a 35 percent increase from 2008.
Take a look at how the game works.  As always - Doug has some fine graphics - and we thank him!
Increasing funding for the Department of Education has nothing at all to do with education. It has to do with getting more Democrats elected -- using the taxpayers' money. read it all

The problem facing our state and local governments right now is simple: we are broke. There isn't enough money to continue the bloated government payrolls that currently exist. That is simply the reality of the situation. Public education cannot remain immune from the cuts that are coming, from the belt-tightening that the government as a whole has to face. There simply is no way around that. Reality has caught up to our governments -- state and federal -- and reality can be denied but not avoided. It will make its presence known, and that's the situation that we are in right now. Not much consolation for the people who are facing pay cuts or job cuts, but that, unfortunately, is the nature of the situation. And continuing the denial will only make the solution in the future that much more painful. The pain that will be felt now will be as bad as it is because we have put off dealing with this problem for so long. More inaction will simply make the future treatment of this condition even worse.

If you were here in the thick of it, like I am, you wouldn't believe the lies, propaganda, and insanity that's going down right now. Schools closed down because the UNION told them to leave and got to the protest in Madison.

Me, I'm babysitting my friend's kids later this afternoon and evening so she could go to the protest. I think that makes me a nice friend.

I agree. Fire them all. Whiny babies.

They are intentionally turning out functionally illiterate graduates. It's part of the plan. Has been for a long time.

I agree with priests wife.... the public employees unions should be banned.

Ronnie Reagan would have told them to get back to work or get fired.

I heard last night that because they are union employees that they cannot be fired. But, just like the Air Traffic Controllers in the early 1980's they are not leagally allowed to strike, so RR could fire them all, just like, I would think, the governor could fire every teacher that doesn't have a doctor's note for his/her "sick" day. There are hundreds of people who would fill their positions by next week, and likely do a much better job.

Yes, I learned early in my teaching career not to trust my own children to the indoctrination camps called public schools and have been homeschooling ever since.

@ Blue, why do you think this is so? What is their agenda?

Belinda - allow me to answer for Blue (since I'm pretty sure he and I are on the same wavelength)

An uneducated electorate is an electorate that can be controlled. It started with Dewy and continues today.
