Our brand-new Republican Congressman, Richard Hanna (NY-24) was one of the AYE voters. Yay!

We're starting to see some motion after all the hard work of getting these people elected!

I noticed my rep, Keith Ellison, voted no as expected. When it goes to the Senate, I expect Franken and Klobuchar will vote no. Minnesota is a blue state -- which means it's a "pinko" state.

Fitzpatrick and Sessions voted "present"?!!?

Oh, wait, Sessions and Fitzpatrick were the two who voted before being sworn in, so maybe that's the deal?

Love the language used!

A symbolic victory, but symbols are important! Great to see this happening at the start of the congressional session. Hopefully it will set the tone for the House's work here on out. Of course, the real work will be in hammering agreements with the Senate and the White House.

They are operating on ideological principal now. I was hoping the GOP would actually put in place some health care features that are really needed.

AKA....not being thrown off your health care plan for reasons known only to God.

Not being denied coverage...but as many have said and the true absolute budget buster of this health care bill was all the exemptions and taxes it incorporated along with people not buying health care until they are SICK and the insurance company unable to deny them coverage.

I am about as conservative as they come but I believe also that the United States Government should have set up a health care agency....part of Medicare if necessary in order to insure Americans who are considered uninsurable by insurance companies who must make a profit....or at least break even....in order to survive.

This would cost the US somewhere around 18 billion dollars per year to insure the unisurable. We have to remember that we are dealing with insurance companies that if they make ONE billion dollars per year in profit they had a field day.......Removing these high risk people and putting them into medicare and raising their rates to compensate...not old peoples rates...their rates....

Doing this would return profit to health care insurers and force the premiums back down.

Yes Im tickled that Obamacare was voted down...but the Senate or the President will just veto it so what we need is something more attractive that is more market oriented that will replace it and get it the hell out of America.

The health care industry needs some serious attention as prices shoot through the roof but Obama care was not it.

Glad to see it passed, but I have no doubt that the Senate will ignore the will of the people, as usual.
