No Doctors? - No Care

More "fishy" information...

This is an excellent article. Be sure and read the comments - many of them from other doctors. I did some quick math on the annual income of one of the doctors that commented to come up with the rough figure of $68.00 for his hourly earnings. That is only slightly more than the hourly wage of a unionized auto industry worker. Even my hubby is paid $40.00 per hour for a music lesson.

No sane person would spend more than 10 years of his life and hundreds of thousands of dollars to earn $68.00 per hour. The rationing of care will come about not only by what the government will allow, but also by the lack of medical professionals.

ObamaCare and me

I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this national debate on healthcare. It is time for me to bring some clarity to the table by explaining many of the problems from the perspective of a doctor. read the rest

oh yeah....and there won't be jobs for nurses either....I know I sound like a broken record here but really.

We're honestly talking about decreasing the payout to hospitals...which means that will either have to drastically reduce a nurse's wage, which means nurses will have to work multiple jobs to maintain the same level of income IE OVERWORKED/TIRED NURSES MEAN MEDICATION ERRORS!!~this is proven

~or~

(more likely)
they will reduce the number of nurses they hire....which will increase the patient/nurse ratio WHICH WAS PROVEN IN THE 80s TO ATTRIBUTE TO MEDICATION ERRORS.

To put a point on the matter. The CEO of the hospital chain that I work for has already stated that as jobs are vacated they will not be refilled.

This means how well YOU get taken care of while in the hospital is at risk.

By the way, I make $31.50 an hour with 9 years experience and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse.. Plus I get compensated for being certified in advanced life support for both adults and children. (ACLS and PALS)....Your hubby makes a lot more than the person whose responsible for your healthcare and that, friends, is a scary thought.

They will no doubt reduce the number of nurses. And the doctors work will be taken over by PA's (if there are any)

People will always pay more for a "want to" rather than a "need to"...

The same people that pay mega-bucks to eat at a fancy restaurant will bitch about what their doctor charges.
