Just so that Joseph doesn't feel like he's the only person panicking in Chicken Little fashion...
The Washington Post reports that the President's health care team has looked to Green Bay and La Crosse, Wis., to find out how those cities have been containing their health care costs so much better than the rest of the nation: read the rest
Not to worry, troll. I don't have a living will and if you and yours manage to pass government health care, I plan on costing you a snout full on money before I shuffle off this mortal coil.
Don't forget to enter the contest to win either 5 luscious double fans of the daylily Gentle Shepherd (US readers only due to shipping restrictions for live plants), or the ebook "31 Days to a Better Blog by Darren Rouse. Just guess what musical instrument Smitty of The Other McCain plays.

this is all about roses....sorry to be off topic.
I have to get a pick of my 2 Tyler roses!!! They both opened today......one is as close to what I grew up calling "peace rose" as I've seen in recent years...they're soooo hard to find and are my FAVORITE rose!! The other I thought was also a peace but it's yellow is darker and the edge is more orange than pink.
can you say GORGEOUS??!!! I passed up the whateverhecalledthem that were supposed to bloom all year "even in the winter!" for these two. If he'd had more I'd have bought more! Then as I'm pulling out I see the rose wagon was making a huge delivery....and on it were two more peace roses!! aaarrrrggghhhhhhhhhhh. damn the luck!
you know the gas station on the SE corner at hwy 69 and I-20?? (in Lindale) There's been someone on that corner selling Tyler Roses for as long as I can remember. $5 a bush right now. Yes, I too remember folks selling them cut by the dozen or two dozen on every street corner...they still do but mostly around Mother's Day (go figure).
OHHHHH, I need to get me a bed dug up so I can get these in the ground! And turns out I can't count! There are 4 cuttings of Great Aunt Ethel's rosebush in that pot! plus two established bushes. yippeeee!!
pardon me while I go do a happy dance and try to get a portion of the dirt out from under my fingernails....
Back on topic, any government health care plan is going to have to move in the direction of assisted suicide, either actively or passively. The only way to contain costs under a government system is to ration health care. That means that people will be denied life-saving care when it is determined by the government that that care is ineffective (i.e., not cost efficient). This will, in a very real way, kill people, as Megan Mcardle has pointed out on her blog. It is a short hop from that to assisted suicide.
We're getting closer and closer to soylent green all the time!
I agree. Kill the elderly, the downtrodden, the lowest in our society. Curiously, isn't that a Democrat voting bloc?
