Just say NO! to Depression...
Packrat has requested to hear about my new house colors and other stuff I'm been hard at work on. I'll do one better and promise to post some pictures of my projects (although why anyone would want to see my new paint, shower curtain, or pillows totally escapes me - even though I love looking at other people's decorating. Go figure!)

On a very non-depressing note, hubby and I went shopping for fabric and other goodies (yes gentlemen - my husband entered the hallowed halls of the Hancock Church of Fabric and escaped unharmed but a bit dazed) on Wednesday. We managed to purchase a new lamp, two new pillows, and enough fabric to cover 10 chairs for a grand total of $122.00. The lamp was marked down from $59.95 to $14.99 and the fabric was all 50%off.
I've been thinking of myself as 100% useless but the color choice for the living room redeemed me by 5% and the shower curtain re-do by another 5%. Now I am only 90% useless (but 100% hot-darn fun!!)

How did you come out of the fabric store with all that stuff and spend less than $125 much less than $200???? Fabric stores are "dangerous" places for me. I try not to ever take my husband or my daughter in with me because - well, let's just say it isn't their thing. It's okay though because I won't go into computer stores with hubby. Now, with my daughter, it's a different problem because we both like music stores. Oh, and we all love book stores. WARNING, DANGER LOL
Anyway, I'm wish we lived closer. I do know how to use a sewing machine...

A bit confused about the depression bit. You don't mean clinical do you coz I'd like to just say no to mine but it takes more than that!
MightyMom - ah shucks....I earned some more points so now I'm at about 85% LOL
...and yesterday my hubby went to a gun show with one of his "manly man" students. The guy was absolutely aghast that my husband would go to a fabric store. He listed off all the places that he wouldn't go i.e. fabric stores, antique stores, dress shops, Big Lots, etc. I'm a lucky woman!!
Packie - I have a sewing machine but not having a place to keep it set up (I'm working on that), it is a huge pain to haul it out.
One of my big loves (besides the book stores) is OFFICE SUPPLY stores. I buy notebooks to the point where I actually have a box in my closet full of notebooks. And pens - oy vey - don't get me started....
Jackie - I'm referring to the depression caused by worry about the political climate in this country not clinical depression. I've allowed it to really affect my mood and must counter it with more prayer and, well, just saying NO! and placing more faith in God.
Kelly - We must all (Mark in Spokane) and maybe Packie get together this summer. Maybe find some middle of the road area to meet...
