We are all on a free-fall down Alice's rabbit hole...

An admitted tax cheat is going to make sure the financial institutions "do the right thing." Riiiight!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama, who recently scolded Wall Street for taking large bonuses while seeking financial relief from the government, said he has asked Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to formulate guidelines for financial firms. read more

Bill creates detention camps in U.S. for 'emergencies'
Sweeping, undefined purpose raises worries about military police state

Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, D-Fla., has introduced to the House of Representatives a new bill, H.R. 645, calling for the secretary of homeland security to establish no fewer than six national emergency centers for corralling civilians on military installations. Read more

Octuplet Watch

****It seems everyone has an opinion about this obviously disturbed single woman who, with the help of in-vitro fertilization (IVF), gave birth to eight babies. On the day of the birth, the msm reported that no pictures were being allowed as she wished to remain anonymous. My first reaction that she was waiting for the highest bidder has proven to be correct.

****I have seen endless debates raging over the morality of this woman, the doctors involved, and the clinic (that I understand she works for). But I have yet to see anyone address the morality of the procedure itself.

****For anyone reading who doesn't know this already, the Catholic Church, for good reason, forbids in-vitro fertilization and calls it a gravely evil act. What this woman did is just the tip of the iceberg of the moral cesspool our world is becoming, because of people demanding to have what they want and not what they need.

What’s Wrong With In-Vitro Fertilization
by Tim Drake

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Catholic teaching has called in-vitro fertilization techniques immoral for decades. But most Catholics still haven't heard the news. read more

In-Vitro Fertilization: Ethical Implications & Alternatives

A Pastoral Letter by Bishop Sean P. O'Malley, OFM Cap.

...That having been said, I now feel compelled to sound an alarm to our Catholic people about the morally problematic aspects of in-vitro fertilization and to call upon our priests, deacons, and teachers to exercise due diligence in faithfully presenting the Church’s teaching on this most serious issue. read more

Re: National emergency centers...

When they start rounding up Christians, I hope they put me in the south because the winters in Michigan stink.

Adrienne, invirtro fertalizan, why do they call it a grave act. The catechism called it when I was in school, a mortal sin. A mortal sin means it kills the soul. The only way to get back in God's good graces is to confess the sin and have it forgiven in confession. Same as abortion and birth control it's all a mortal sin.

John - you are correct. All these acts are mortal sins. Abortion, INF, euthanasia are considered gravely evil because they take the life of another.

In addition, abortion carries with it if the person is aware an automatic ex-communication and a priest alone can not give absolution. It must be taken to the bishop.

Adrienne, I had no idea about abortion & excommunication and the bishop's reversal of it. See, you do learn something every day.

While I understand the desperate longing for a child, I do not understand the lengths people will go through to get a child. Even before we came back into the Church, I always felt if God wanted me to have children, I would have children. I can't imagine spending 1,000s of dollars on a procedure that just smacks of "god like stature"
