They're Baaaaaack!

****Maybe this means spring will be early this year. Last year we didn't see any Cedar Waxwings until the end of February.

****They swoop in and eat the tiny little crab apples on our trees. They also eat the juniper berries (can you say gin?), and get a bit erratic in their flying ability. Do they issue tickets for inattentive flying?

Cedar Waxwings are my favorite birds that never come to my feeders! I have bushes with berries, they don't come. I put out grapes, they don't come. Nothing I do entices them. Lucky.

Try putting out a martini. That may work.

Of course, you realize a "martini" is made with gin. A glass of vodka can never, ever be a "martini". It will always be just a glass of vodka with an olive or twist of lemon.

Aren't they gorgeous! I've never seen one before.
