Preppers are becoming mainstream...

and it's about time.

The term "prepper" simply means someone who plans ahead (IMO.)  In the olden days when I was but a wee girl, most everyone had a pantry full of home-canned goods, extra batteries, candles, and the many things that make life simpler in times of emergency.

Today, I marvel at the rush to the grocery store by panicked people if a winter storm is predicted.  I will admit to making many a panicked rush to the library to stock up on a big supply of books since we are well stocked with food, water, wood for our stove, and lots and lots of toilet paper.

I have been remiss in not mentioning two of my favorite survivalist/prepper sites, both of which have been included in a list of top 50 prepper sites.

Congratulations to M.D. Creekmore of The Survivalist Blog and Patrice Lewis of Rural Revolution.

Patrice is a "neighbor" of ours, living just south of Coeur d' Alene and also writes for World Net Daily. (I would dearly love to make a trip to her place and meet her sometime this summer.)   M.D. Creekmore is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable guys on the interwebs.  Both of them have built up a wonderful and helpful community of commenters.
