Jim DeMint to run for President?
Maggie and Randy are happy - and so am I.
Just close your eyes for a moment and conjure up an image of a stage with two podiums. Behind one podium is Barky, the Teleprompter Dog (no insult to talking dogs intended.) Behind the other is Jim DeMint.
The first question is asked, and Barky, after a 2 minute delay of spitting out um's, ah's, and er's, proceeds to spill forth with a bunch of words that make absolutely no sense.
Now it's DeMint's turn and we hear a succinct and intelligent response to the question.
The next morning, the legacy press reports Barky won the debate hands down against the inarticulate and bumbling DeMint.
Problem is - the voters that bothered to watch the debate know this isn't true. Barky's base did not see this because instead of watching a TV, they were busy stealing a TV.
Thus endeth the vision.
As of 9:15 PDT The Weiner has 5 headlines. Sarah also has 5 headlines, including one from Newbusters about Martin Bashir saying Sarah Palin's Bus Tour is a 'Breach of Federal Law' (never mind that it's perfectly ok to burn the flag - just don't put one on your private bus.) That people like Bashir actually make huge salaries to spew such nonsense, or that anyone actually listens to them is one of the greatest mysteries we mere mortals contemplate.
Meantime, Stacy McCain, with his authentic journalistic background all accounted for, tells us what's ahead for Weinergate.

Government Health Care Will Kill You
Why don't Americans just stand up and demand a return to the principles of freedom? I'm afraid that's like asking a drug addict just to quit using drugs. Americans are heavily dependent on government, and many do not believe freedom can be trusted to take care of them. Political candidates sound much more enticing when they promise more security and government benefits than when they speak of personal responsibility and cutting government spending.
U.S. Senator Jim DeMint, Saving Freedom, We Can Stop America's Slide into Socialism
Health Care Compliments of the Federal Government
- publicly funded abortion
- higher taxes (for everyone)
- end or life “counseling”
- loss of present coverage (eventually)
- seniors getting the shaft (really important)
- monstrous additions to the deficit
