My doggie has been rock and rollin'...

and it only cost us $1500.00

Arrrrrrrrgh!

My doggie, Frankie, erupted in screams of pain yesterday about 5pm.  He'd been acting off for a few days, and I had been watching him closely.

He was rushed to the vet, x-rayed, and it was determined that somehow he swallowed a rock.  Frankie is a 12 lb dog and after emergency surgery, the vets office was surprised he could have even swallowed such a large (for him) rock.  This was not a nice little rounded off rock.  This was a rock comprised of many right angles and sharp points.

He was transferred to the emergency hospital after surgery so he could be observed overnight (adding another $300.00 to the $1250.00 bill.)

I picked him up an hour or so ago and he's doing fine for an older guy.

Me?

Not so much!

Prayers please... w/Update

Our little Frankie decided to snack on a bunch of fake Styrofoam grapes covered in plastic last night.

He's on his way to surgery in about one hour.

Please say a little prayer for a successful operation and a speedy recovery.

Thank you...

Update:

Frankie is out of surgery and doing great.  They found a whole pistachio (shell and nut) and a fairly large hunk of the hard plastic wrapping from one of the fake grapes.

The vet said if we had waited we would have been doing a resection on his little intestines.

He can come home tomorrow.

Thank you all for your prayers.

One of the culprits:

Ever seen a $1000.00 pistachio?

Frankie finds a forever home...

a purely personal post.

After losing both of our precious pooches last year, hubby and I decided that life was pretty simple without a doggie or two. That lasted until I saw a picture of of a cute little doggie named Gigi on Petfinder.  When the lovely rescue lady came for a home visit she brought along Frankie, who was currently being fostered at her home.  And the rest, as they say, is history.

The following night Gigi came for a home visit.  Although she was tres cute, she seemed nervous and needy.  Hubby voted for Frankie, apparently a shih tzu/pug mix (we think), who has been with us for the past three days.  He is obedient, playful, loving, and, best of all, gets along famously with Erica, the kitty.

Meet the newest member of our family.  Frankie...

Admit it - that's one cute doggie!!
