How long before they try to take away "Dixie"?...

and how long are you (and me) going to sit back and allow this abomination to continue?

The commie/libtards are on a mission to erase our history and steal and denigrate our ancestors.  They want to destroy our art, music, and literature.

Every decade or so Our Lord and Savior sends imperfect people to deliver a perfect message of truth and hope.

An American Trilogy is one such message.

Watch it in full screen and turn up the volume.

May God bless you in these confusing and troubling times.

In case you've forgotten:

Health Update

I have discovered that what I thought was a hamstring injury is in fact a strain to the piriformis muscle (aka a major pain in the butt.) Until you have the correct diagnosis, proper treatment cannot begin. I've embarked on special exercises, gau sha massage (I'll talk more about that in the future), and ibuprofen for inflammation. At the rate I've been gobbling the ibuprofen I figure my liver will have to walked on a leash in a few more weeks

I'm hobbling around pretty darn good now, getting work done, and even managing to log in as many as two hours per night actually sleeping in bed before the nerve pain becomes unbearable. The rest of the night is spent on a chair in the dining room reading and nodding off here and there. That's weird, because with piriformis syndromne sitting should be the last thing you want to do.

As with all things - this too shall pass.

Elvis Presley: January 8, 1935 - August 16, 1977...

RIP Elvis

40 Years Today

While I prefer some of his numbers from his Comeback Special in 1968, I found this to be more appropriate for the events unfolding now.

When I moved to Texas in the early 60's and attended my first musical event the band played Dixie and everyone stood up.  I was completely dumbfounded and had no inkling of why they stood up.  I stood up after being prodded by my new friends.

I was a recent transplant from St. Paul, MN and had little knowledge of the Civil War beyond what I what I had been taught in school - which was truthful, but uninspiring.

My husband at that time (RIP) was a civil war expert and over the years we were together I learned the real history of the war.

What I'm witnessing going on now makes my heart constrict in pain and my soul explode with fury.

You will not erase our history - and yes, the south became my history.  It became who I am.

No one has to tell me to stand up for the playing of Dixie anymore.

Elvis Presley January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977

he is missed.

I admit to not being a huge Elvis fan in my youth.   My mother thought he was one of the most beautiful men she had ever seen.  I didn't get it.

And then along came the 1968 Comeback Special on TV when I was about 22 or so.  It was then that I knew my Mom was right (as always.)

This was a man who was uniquely blessed by God with beauty and talent. Was he a Pavarotti or Caruso? No.  He was Elvis Presley and no one sounded like him - not before and not after.

There have been others who have been blessed.  Most came to a bad end.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could take these special people, wrap them in cotton batting, and keep them safe forever?
