Are you swallowing the lies about the economy...

or being distracted by the latest shiny objects; vaccines and Brian Williams?

We have a lot more important things to worry about than whether some kid has been vaccinated, or Brian Williams told a lie.  The talking heads are always telling lies, so why the outrage?

This morning on Yahoo, there were two articles side by side. I'm only linking to them as a way to keep track of them, and not suggesting you head over and read them.  Once they leave the Yahoo front page, it's very hard to find them again.  One was; This is how Barack Obama wants to be the left’s Ronald Reagan , and it's full of the most egregious crap I've come across in eons.  To sum it up, we're doing better than ever and we, more or less, have Obama to thank.  It touts the "official" government figures, which we all know is a load of cow poo.  The article has gathered up over 10K comments and 99.99% of them are bad.

The one next to it was; US gains 257K jobs, unemployment rate ticks up to 5.7 pct - more egregious crap.  Once again, the comments are scathing.

Meanwhile, this is what President Ribbon Cutter is doing today - on our dime!

Obama Schedule || Friday, February 6, 2015

10:00 am || Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing
11:35 am || Departs the White House
1:30 pm || Arrives Indianapolis, Indiana
2:15 pm || Delivers remarks and takes questions from students and faculty; Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis
5:05 pm || Departs Indianapolis, Indiana
6:45 pm || Arrives White House
All times Eastern

While German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President François Hollande fly to Moscow for an emergency meeting with Vladimir Putin over the deteriorating situation in eastern Ukraine, President Ribbon Cutter is flying to Indiana to deliver remarks to a bunch of kids taking remedial English and math.  Is it any wonder the world is laughing at us?

The following videos are excellent and well worth your time.  Forget about Brian Williams and do something to protect yourself.  Yes, I know they're long, but listen to them anyway.

I don't "get" the stock market...

so that's why I don't invest in stocks.

At one time many years ago, I had a fairly hefty 401K.  When the stock market started to explode, I became very nervous and cashed it in.  It turned out to be a wise decision.  Ever since then, I've invested in durable and non-durable goods and a small amount of gold.

However, I do know just enough to realize that when the stock market keeps going up and up, it's not necessarily a good thing, and will probably not end well.  And right now the market is acting crazy.

We have companies that don't make any money with stock worth billions.  How can that be?  Call me old fashioned, but many, many years ago, people bought stock in blue chip companies to hold over a lifetime.  Now, everyone is a day trader, or trying to make a killing on speculating on some debt-ridden company.

In my opinion, the stock market is rigged, and not in your favor.  You may as well buy lottery tickets.

Which brings me to debt.  I know lots of people who think that debt is a good thing.  Sometimes, a short term loan to expand a company is necessary, with a plan to pay it back as quickly as possible being the goal.  Just as often, it's not necessary.

Consumer debt, which is most often used for non-durable goods is at an all-time high.  People are in debt up to their eyeballs.  The only debt you should have is your mortgage, and that should be a 15-year fixed rate loan; you should make extra payments on the principle and pay it off as quickly as possible.  My little measurement, rather than that of the banks, to figure what you can afford, will work well for you.
Your mortgage payment (PITI) should be no more than the amount of money either you, or a married couple both working a minimum wage job, can earn.  If for some reason, and it happens more often than you think, you lose your cushy job and have to work at McDonald's, you will at least be able to make your mortgage payment.
Check out this little factoid:
The longest-term new-car loans — 73 to 84 months — have jumped 25.1% in the past year and now make up 19.5% of total new-car lending, according to Experian Automotive. All other loan-length categories, in fact, have become less popular as buyers shift to longer terms to get lower payments.
The next-shorter category — 61 to 72 months, and considered a very long loan only a few years ago — now is 41.7% of new-car loans, Experian says. That's down 3.2% from a year ago, but it's still by far the biggest single loan-length category.  source
Seven years to pay off a car?  How about buying a cheaper car and paying cash?  Yes - you can do it.

Our government is trying to tell us there's no inflation.  Of course, they don't consider pesky little things like food and energy when figuring the inflation index.  So next time you're in danger of starving to death and freezing cold, you can maybe burn the government's figures to keep warm and eat the ashes.

We are living in a bubble and it's going to come crashing down very soon.

If you are carrying debt, do everything in your power to pay it off.  Concentrate on the must haves and not the must wants.

Ladies - you don't need another purse.  Shocking, I know (and trust me, I love purses.)

Two years ago, I needed something small because the lockers at work were so small.  I grabbed a little tiny  Longaberger tote I won at a home party and crammed my few essentials in it.  Two years hence and I'm still using it. I get more compliments on that silly little tote than any expensive handbag I ever owned.  Now, it's become a reverse snobbism thingy.  I may trade up to a plastic grocery bag from the Dollar Store.

Gentleman, you don't need the newest electronic gadget, golf clubs, or whatever your little obsession is.  You probably don't need that boat or motorcycle, either.

Young people:  Finish high school. Learn a trade unless you plan on going into something like medicine, engineering, or law. Get married before having kids. Quit buying convenience food and learn how to cook.  Get rid of daycare costs and home school your kids.  Guys, take a sack lunch to work and help your wife with chores.

It's time to wake up, America.

It's Friday...

what's going on.

Let us today concentrate on just one issue, and it's not the government shutdown (who cares?), Obamacare (catastrophe), John Boehner (dope), or Harry Reid (insane.)

As always, when there is a big brouhaha about something, in this case the government shutdown, I start looking around for what the puppet masters don't want us to see.

So let's take a look at what's going on with the dollar.

Some of these articles have been sitting in my tabs for weeks.  Some are as recent as today.

Several of these are fairly long and not easily digested articles.  However, they are all important.

Let's start with an Ann Barnhardt post from September 7th.

On Poland and Detroit. Not For the Faint of Heart.

On October 3rd from Canada Free Press we have:

The Real Debt Ceiling

and

about a week ago from WND:

Americans warned Bank "Bail-ins" Coming

just yesterday from WND:

US Banks Already Can Take Your Money

finally today from Northwest Intelligence Network:

Forget the government shutdown – it’s about shutting YOU down

and also

SHTF Plan:  U.S. Treasury Warns of What’s to Come: “Catastrophic Effect… Could Last for More Than a Generation”

Now that's a lot of unhappy, some might even say scary, information.  What you do with it is up to you.  Some sources of economic news are into selling gold, something that always makes the hair on my back flicker a bit.  Are some of them sincere in their belief that gold is the way to go?  Probably.  For me - I'd rather have toilet paper.

Alt-Market: What To Expect During The Next Stage Of Collapse ...

it's not pretty.

For years now at Alt-Market (and Neithercorp.us) I have carefully outlined the most likely path of collapse to take place within the U.S., and a vital part of that analysis included economic destabilization caused by a loss of the dollar's world reserve status and petro-status.  I have also always made clear that this fiscal crisis event would not occur in the midst of a political vacuum.  The central banks and international financiers that created our ongoing and developing disaster are NOT going to allow the destruction of the American economy, the dollar, or global markets without a cover event designed to hide their culpability.  They need something big.  Something so big that the average citizen is overwhelmed with fear and confusion.  A smoke and mirrors magic trick so raw and soul shattering it leaves the very population of the Earth mesmerized and helpless to understand the root of the nightmare before them.  The elites need a fabricated Apocalypse.

Enter Syria...

I have been warning about the Syrian trigger point for a very long time.  Syria's mutual defense pact with Iran, its strong ties to Russia, the Russian naval base off its coast, the advanced Russian weaponry in it's arsenal, its proximity to vulnerable oil shipping lanes, all make the nation a perfect catalyst for a global catastrophe.  The civil war in Syria is already spreading into neighboring countries like Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, and if one looks at the facts objectively, the entire war is a product of covert action on the part of the U.S. and its allies.

The U.S. trained, armed, and funded the insurgency using Al Qaeda operatives.  Saudi Arabia has sent funding and arms as well.  Israel has aided the rebels using air strikes within Syria's borders (even though this means that the Israeli government is essentially helping their supposed mortal enemies).  This war would NOT be taking place today without the express efforts of the West.  Period.

If one takes more than a brief examination of the Syrian insurgency, they would find an organization of monsters.  Wretched amoral wetwork ghouls whose crimes have been thoroughly documented, including the mass executions of unarmed captured soldiers, the torture and beheading of innocent civilians, the mutilation and cannibalism of dead bodies, and the institution of theological tyranny on a terrified populace.  The U.S. created and unleashed these demons, and now, we the people are being asked by the White House to support them through force of arms.

But what is the goal here...?

Read the rest and ponder

Who really owns the money in your savings account?...

hint: it's not you.

I know this is a holiday weekend and readership will be low - as it should be.  Spending time with family and friends is important.  If you are lucky enough to have three days off, spend a wee bit of that time reading a few of the articles I've linked, and discussing your future with your family.  As with everything you read, do your own research and "trust but verify."

In our household we believe in being prepared.  No - we don't have a gazillion years of food put away and haven't built a bunker.  We do have a nice pantry and if we are snowed in or the electricity goes off for an extended period (both have happened), we will be cozy, fed, and - most importantly, we will have coffee.

But what's going to happen to the people who have only stocked up with three cans of beans and a twelve pack of toilet paper?  Have you ever seen a grocery store after a major weather event is forecast?  It takes no more than a few hours for the store shelves to be emptied.  Suppose this event continued for several weeks or even months?

There is no doubt in our minds that things are not going well in this country, which is an understatement.  Is the possibility of an economic meltdown inevitable, bringing with it widespread unrest and riots?  Frankly, I don't know. People who are hungry do crazy things.   What I do know is that we'll be ready because it's the prudent thing to do.

From: Global Research:

No Bank Deposits Will Be Spared from Confiscation

I challenge anyone to prove me wrong that confiscation of bank deposits is legalized daylight robbery

Bank depositors in the UK and USA may think that their bank deposits would not be confiscated as they are insured and no government would dare embark on such a drastic action to bail out insolvent banks.

Before I explain why confiscation of bank deposits in the UK and US is a certainty and absolutely legal, I need all readers of this article to do the following:

Ask your local police, sheriffs, lawyers, judges the following questions:

1) If I place my money with a lawyer as a stake-holder and he uses the money without my consent, has the lawyer committed a crime?
2) If I store a bushel of wheat or cotton in a warehouse and the owner of the warehouse sold my wheat/cotton without my consent or authority, has the warehouse owner committed a crime?
3) If I place monies with my broker (stock or commodity) and the broker uses my monies for other purposes and or contrary to my instructions, has the broker committed a crime?

I am confident that the answer to the above questions is a Yes!

However, for the purposes of this article, I would like to first highlight the situation of the deposit / storage of wheat with a warehouse owner in relation to the deposit of money / storage with a banker.
First, you will notice that all wheat is the same i.e. the wheat in one bushel is no different from the wheat in another bushel. Likewise with cotton, it is indistinguishable. The deposit of a bushel of wheat with the warehouse owner in law constitutes a bailment. Ownership of the bushel of wheat remains with you and there is no transfer of ownership at all to the warehouse owner.

And as stated above, if the owner sells the bushel of wheat without your consent or authority, he has committed a crime as well as having committed a civil wrong (a tort) of conversion – converting your property to his own use and he can be sued.

Let me use another analogy. If a cashier in a supermarket removes $100 from the till on Friday to have a frolic on Saturday, he has committed theft, even though he may replace the $100 on Monday without the knowledge of the owner / manager of the supermarket. The $100 the cashier stole on Friday is also indistinguishable from the $100 he put back in the till on Monday. In both situations – the wheat in the warehouse and the $100 dollar bill in the till, which have been unlawfully misappropriated would constitute a crime.

Keep this principle and issue at the back of your mind.

Now we shall proceed with the money that you have deposited with your banker.  READ THE REST

More sorting of the trees from the forest...

it's been a busy morning day of reading.

Now it's time to think, observe, and try and sort it all out.

While being distracted by a myriad of things happening, it might be a good idea to step back from the trees, take a look at the forest, and try to put things in a semblance of order.

The Insider has a rather alarming post up.  Is it true?  I don't know.  Is it plausible?  Most assuredly.  I try not to be one of those people who say, "It couldn't happen here" (whatever "it" happens to be.)  History as far back as is documented says otherwise.

First read:

DHS Insider: Obama’s cyber warriors & preparing for collapse

One thing that alarms me is the continued focus on Obama, when he is nothing but a sock puppet.  His handlers keep him in a constant state of busyness - flying here and there, essentially saying nothing to anyone that cares while they continue about their business.

Next watch, via iOwnTheWorld - and we thank them, what amounts to a test in conformity regarding how easy it is to make someone deny what is clearly right.

For some reason the video won't embed anymore.

Go to iOwnTheWorld to watch:

HERE

I know after watching that you'll say, "But I'd never do that."  Really?  Over the years when I've traveled to my home state of Minnesota, the conformity of the rabid liberal opinions have always puzzled me.  Most of these people have resided in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area their entire lives, and indeed, for many generations.  When you are completely surrounded by people who think a certain way, the temptation to buck the tide will probably be almost nonexistent.

Would I be a liberal if I had not escaped from Minnesota when I was 17 years old?  I'd like to think not, but the truth is "probably."

Yesterday I linked to an article from Alt-Market.  It's long, but if you didn't get to it yesterday, please put it on your reading list.

The Linchpin Lie: How Global Collapse Will Be Sold To The Masses

While growing up my mom had a favorite saying (actually she had a ton of favorite sayings, but we don't have time for all of them.)  She used to say, "He who controls the money and car, controls the kid."  So, who controls our money?

Who Controls The Money? An Unelected, Unaccountable Central Bank Of The World Secretly Does

and

Do Wall Street Insiders Expect Something Really BIG To Happen Very Soon?

Take a moment and quietly take stock of everything going on. This is by no means a comprehensive list.  It consists only of a few things that have popped into my mind.
  • Agenda 21.
  • The possibility of drones filling the skies where you live.
  • The constant and recent drumbeat of gun control.
  • A country pushing 17 trillion dollars in debt with no let up in spending in the foreseeable future.
  • A public school system designed to indoctrinate rather than teach.
  • The almost complete breakdown of the American family.  Close to 50% babies born today are illegitimate and do not have a father in the home.
  • Abortion used as birth control.
  • The "jamming" methods used by homosexuals to further their agenda (it's working quite well, by the way.)
  • Staggering unemployment numbers.
  • Record number of people receiving food stamps and disability payouts.
  • The looming threat of Obamacare.
  • The infiltration of the churches by Alinsky's "social justice" doctrine.
  • A "news" media unwilling to report the news honestly.
Today at American Thinker, Ed Lasky does a good job of putting a happy face on the possibility of the GOP finding their way out of the forest.   I don't think the evidence is really in favor of his happier outcome.  Are we to ignore what the evidence is saying?  And what exactly are we to do about this state of affairs?

I really have no idea (my husband has interjected that he thinks I do have an idea - maybe so, but I think everyone should think this through for themselves without my puny input), therefore I would like to hear what you have to say after pondering the available evidence.

The "I forgot to give it a title post" which I guess can be called "the economic meltdown" or something

It has long been my opinion the mess our country is in has taken a century to develop and it won't go away for many decades - and then only if we have people who are determined to make it go away.  Do I think this will happen?  No.

Over at Conservative Hideout, the Classical Liberal has posted:  Blog Focus: U.S. Economic Meltdown
giving us a good run down of the realities we are facing.
Too many Americans continue to think the problems facing our country can be solved via Democratic or Republican politicians. That somehow, someway, the 545 people responsible for all of U.S. woes, are also the same people we should count on to get us out of the mess. read the rest

APOCALYPSE NOW? No . . . but Soon Enough

There is little doubt that we are headed for some very disturbing times in this country, and those who do not prepare are going to be in for some big surprises.  Some sit back and watch the riots in Greece, Italy, and Great Britain and think, "That would never happen here."  Those people need to think again.  It can, and most likely, will happen. The real danger is it won't be the conservative Tea Party types that will rampage.  When was the last time you saw a right-wing group threaten the safety of other citizens and wantonly destroy the property of others?

We have an administration that is willing to ignore the will of the majority while pursuing their objectives, which are clearly not in the best interests of the country.  The reasons for this have been discussed ad nauseum.  The time for discussion is over, and the time for people to do what is in their best interests is upon us.
