Michelle Obama: Tasteless, rude, and condescending...

as she insults the women who voted for Trump.

When I'm insulted I always look to see who's doing the insulting.  In this case, Michelle Obama, the worthless ex-first "lady", who holds up Beyonce as a role model for her daughters, is not a worthy insulter.

Why don't these people just go away?  Get over it Michelle.  Maybe get a hobby. And encourage Hillary and the pencil neck you married to do the same.

Some woman on the Instant Pot community page on Facecrap went into a complete spittle flecked nutty ugly rant against someone who posted a link to an item on Amazon.  She called it "spam" and was really bent at the thought that someone would actually make a few cents off that link at no additional cost to the person purchasing the item.  It didn't take long for one of the moderators to dump her brain dead comments in the dust bin of internet history.

So let me say once again how thankful I am to anyone who purchases an item through my links.

On Sale at Amazon:

FoodSaver V4440 2-in-1 Automatic Vacuum Sealing System with Bonus Built-in Retractable Handheld Sealer & Starter Kit, Black Finish

I'm on my second Food Saver.  My first one lasted for a gazillion years.  I prefer to call it my "Money and Time" Saver.

It would take a four page post to tell you all the ways I use my Food Saver.

Here's just a few:
  • I buy whole tri-tips at Costco, cut my own steaks, and vacuum seal them for a years worth of eating
  • The large chunks of cheese from Costco are cut into chunks and vacuumed.  They keep for many, many months in the refrigerator.
  • I make meatballs (about 150) at one time and vacuum them for a huge time saver.
  • When chuck roasts are on sale I buy 3 or 4 extra, cook them (in my Instant Pot) and vacuum seal them for a pre-made dinner.  I do the same with meat loaf.
  • I make my own Italian sausage (a minimum of two days work) and freeze it for a whole years worth of sausage.
  • Large bags of Costco nuts (almonds, pecans, etc) are vacuumed in smaller batches and put in the freezer.  Good for years.
  • When burger is one sale I'll buy 20 pounds and freezer in 1 pound packages all flattened out for stacking in the freezer.
  • I do the same when chicken breasts are on sale.
  • I buy large quantities of spices, put in pint jars, and vacuum to retain freshness.
  • Important papers and documents are vacuumed to keep them safe.
  • I vacuum travel items to save space when packing and contain any leaks in toiletries.
  • I'm not a hunter, but none of my friends who hunt would be without a Food Saver. They fill their freezer for the entire year every hunting season
One thing I don't like is making bags.  I've been using these bags and they are wonderful and much cheaper than Food Saver bags.

Marxism and Football...

it's just another "long march through the institutions."

While waiting for the 24/7 coverage of the football rebellion of 2017 to be pushed off the front page by the next hysterical nugget of information to take its place, I've been reading more about how we're being subverted into Socialism/Communism.

This months Whistleblower has some excellent articles on how cultural Marxism has been making headway into our country.  Granted, nothing I read is not something I haven't read a hundred times before, but it's always good to remind one's self of how these events interconnect.

How many times have you heard the game of football called an American institution or tradition?

If the goal of Socialism is to take over a country by changing it's culture (cultural Marxism), then an attack on football would certainly push along the agenda. No?

Did the cultural Marxists plan out this scenario we're having forced down our throats of football players being manipulated into the role of useful idiots ?  Probably not. But it has certainly followed their play book by landing a heaping pile of poo on the field of foot-a-ball (as my Italian grandpa called it)- and the MSM is going to make sure that you stay involved, agitated, and distracted.

And the question that dangles it's pesky little head over this whole distraction is why?

Francis Porretto, over at Liberty's Torch, asked that question and his answer is splendid.

Starting with the question:
A bald reading of 1984 suggests that Orwell’s major aim was to depict the horrors of an all-encompassing totalitarian state: a state whose masters will be satisfied with nothing less than controlling the thoughts in its subjects’ heads. There’s an obvious utilitarian reason for the power-mad to want such control: it precludes all possibility of rebellion. If it were possible – and I shan’t suggest that it absolutely isn’t – it would be the ultimate totalitarian wet dream. But how would a relatively free society get to IngSoc, The Party, the ubiquitous telescreens, et cetera? Did Orwell have a sociopolitical path in mind?
Closely associated secondary question: Does it matter? Read the rest

So How Do You Fight Back?

Everyone must do what they are able to do.  It's really that simple.

Reject the dark ugliness of Communism.  Celebrate beauty - real beauty.  Read uplifting books, surround yourself with beautiful art, study history and, if you have children, teach them to reject the false lies of the left.

Withdraw from the useless squawking of the MSM and go out in nature. Spend time enriching your own life and the lives of your children.

Pray.

Yesterday I went out for a late lunch and when I returned home I binge watched the Masterpiece Theater's Victoria.  It was a healthy dose of quite accurate history wrapped up in a sumptuous package of wonderful acting, beautiful settings, lovely clothes, and the love story of Victoria and Albert.  It takes you through to the birth of their first child.
It's clear, witnessing the struggles of the elite political class and the royals in Great Britain during the Victorian era,  that the quest for power has touched man ever since the Angel of Darkness convinced Adam and Eve that they could be gods.

Please don't make me talk about the NFL...

pleeeeaase!

Not a sports fan.

If the NFL wants to commit suicide, let them.  No intervention.

Meantime, Trump has cleverly changed the topic from the probable demise of the newest health insurance reform bill  to the NFL.  Good work, Donald.

I have many other "serious" things lined up that I want to talk about, but first I must be alone with my thoughts.  There's no better place to do that then in the garden clipping, weeding, mulching, and making giant piles of stuff to haul off.

This is not my pile pictured, but I assure you I will duplicate that pile at least 10 times over today.

Here's a bit of inspiration for your Sunday

From the Art of Manliness:

“The Greatest Danger in the World”
From Climbing Manward, 1924
By Frank H. Cheley

Every moment that we live we are in danger from something: fires, floods, earthquakes, lightning, automobiles, trolley cars, frightened horses, and airships. Every newspaper in the land is full each day of the human tragedies that result from the dangers that everywhere surround us. Folks are electrocuted by live wires, struck down by automobiles and falling material from buildings, crushed in elevators, injured by stumbling on slippery steps, poisoned from bad food, caught in railroad wrecks, and in a hundred other ways are made to suffer. It is dangerous even to be alive, and yet how few folks there are that are really aware after all of their greatest danger.
It was a Detroit boy that cleverly summed the situation up for us in a recent Safety First Contest held in that city. A prize was offered to the scholar who should name the greatest ordinary danger that might befall the people of Detroit. Bank Presidents, Captains of Industry, the Chairman of the Board of Public Safety, and other notables were to be the judges. Of course, thousands of answers were submitted. But this one wide-awake boy, who used his head as well as his eyes in summing up dangerous situations, hit upon the prize-winning answer.
Like most wonderful things, the boy’s answer was so simple, so absolutely obvious that as soon as it was printed in the papers a thousand other contestants at once exclaimed, “Oh, why didn’t I say that. I knew it all the time.” Business men smiled. Preachers nodded their heads approvingly. The general public laughed. It was so ridiculously simple and yet it was one of the sublime truths that each of us needs to learn so thoroughly that we shall never be able to forget it.
“The greatest danger that may befall any of the people in Detroit, or anywhere else for that matter,” said this live, wide-awake boy, “is to fall into a rut.” And he was absolutely right, for after all, comparatively few people get run over or struck dead or killed in wrecks, but every day all over the big, busy world numberless people are allowing themselves to fall into one kind of rut or another, and the great pity of it is few of them ever get out.
This falling into a rut is a tremendously serious business, for “a rut is nothing more nor less that just a grave with the ends kicked out,” so that such unfortunate folks have really just allowed themselves to be buried alive.
“But,” you say, “if getting into ruts is so dangerous and such a misfortune, why do so many people keep on falling into them?” And the simple answer is that folks keep on falling into ruts for the very same reason that water always runs in ruts – it’s the line of least resistance.
Some folks think that if you just keep moving, you are bound to succeed, but this is a great mistake. The proverbial frog in the well kept moving, but you know what happened to him. I know a boy that has made hundreds of trips a day for years from the main floor of a skyscraper to the tower, but he hasn’t had a raise in salary or a promotion in all that time. He’s in a rut. True, it is an up-and-down one, but a rut just the same, going through the same motions in the same place day in and day out, all because it is the easy thing to do. Sits down to his work; never has to think much; never has to learn anything new; operates a lever and opens and shuts the doors – then, of course, eats and sleeps between times. Buried alive and doesn’t know it!
He is satisfied with himself and his job and as a result he’ll never be anything but a common garden variety of elevator boy. Undoubtedly it would be too much trouble to make the necessary struggle to get out, such as regular hours of study and reading, or perhaps school. Is it too big a price to pay?
I know a sick boy; thin, emaciated, colorless. His folks worry about him and spend hard-earned money upon him, but it is of no use. He is in a rut. He is too lazy to exercise. It is too much trouble to play vigorously. He never has had to do any manual labor. He has just sat around and read stories, and read stories, and taken all his exercise in his mind until he is in a physical rut. Now all the skilled physicians of a great city can’t lift him out.
A certain football coach that had turned out a winning team for five years was suddenly overwhelmed by a raw team from a small town, whose only coaching had come from an older boy who was a student of the rule book. The papers couldn’t understand it, but when the same raw team beat two more leading colleges, the answer was discovered. Those college coaches had fallen into a rut. Winning had gotten too easy. They didn’t have to prepare new plays or train vigorously to win. Accordingly, they slid into a rut. A young chap with half their experience, but who used his head and was up-and-doing, beat them easily.
A great manufacturing concern that had practically controlled a certain product, suddenly awakened to find that a new, small, young competitor had stolen their business. The president snorted and raved at the audacity of anyone who thought he could make that certain commodity as well as he himself could, but when he investigated he found to his surprise that a young chap from his very own factory, who had gotten thoroughly disgusted with the shiftless methods and old-fashioned machinery used in the plant, had offered to supply the brains for a new concern if another gentleman would furnish the necessary capital. From the very first day, the venture was a success. There is never much competition when one party is deep in a rut.
Now, being in a rut and being a failure are about one and the same thing. A successful man is rarely found in a rut. Constant energy and alertness and enthusiasm are the safety devices that save boys from ruts. Avoid falling into a rut in your thinking, in your conduct, in your reading, in your eating, in your pleasures, in your friendships, in your pastimes. Procrastination and downright laziness are responsible for more folks being in ruts than anything else. Mr. Walter Pulitzer’s advice in the New York Herald is excellent at this point:
“My friend, have you heard of the town of Yawn,
On the banks of the River Slow,
Where blooms the Waitawhile flower fair
And the Some-time-or-other scents the air
And the soft Go-easys grow?
It lies in the Valley of What’s-the-use,
In the province of Let-her-slide;
That old ‘tired feeling’ is native there –
It’s the home of the listless I-don’t-care,
Where the Put-it-offs abide.”
How much better to go with Kipling’s explorer even on a long and perilous journey. True, the old prospector might have stayed with the gang and dug with the gang and wasted days and nights with the gang. Yet he didn’t, but rather chose to follow the promptings of the mysterious whisper that was always striving to save him from the rut of being a common miner. So he responded, as the story goes, to the urgings of the whisper.
“Something hidden. Go and find it. Go
And look behind the Ranges.
Something lost behind the Ranges – Lost
And waiting for you – Go!”
It is a wonderful thing to never be content but constantly seeking something better. Such folks rarely fall victim to a rut. Some one once said that “the whole world was in league to reduce living to the commonplace,” which is but another way of saying that the line of least resistance inevitably leads to ruts.
Therefore, if you would be big and useful and a joy to yourself and others, steer clear of the rut – it is the greatest danger in the world.
Dare to cut your own channel.
Dare to think your own thoughts.
Dare to act on your convictions.
Dare to lead, there will always be plenty of followers.
Eyes to the front; hand on the throttle; foot on the clutch –
Steer clear of the rut –
Choose the open road!
“Sad will be the day,” wrote Phillips Brooks, “for any youth when he becomes absolutely contented with the life he is living, with the thoughts he is thinking, and the deeds he is doing; when there is not forever beating at the door of his soul some great desire to do something larger which he knows he was meant and made to do.”

It seems people are in an uproar about Jimmy Kimmel getting talking points from Chuckie Schumer...

and we should care - why?

Seriously.

Jimmy Kimmel, a not very funny guy, who calls himself a comedian, is blah-blahing about health insurance on his late night show, and people actually pay attention.  Supposedly, Schumer provided him with sound bites and talking points.  Again I say, "So what?"

The headline at The Blaze is a head scratcher: Jimmy Kimmel’s credibility on health care questioned after this revelation

Call me silly, but I wasn't aware he had any credibility on issues like health insurance.

I will defend his right to blah-blah all he wants - it is, after all, his show; a show I will admit to having never seen.

I will also defend my right for not listening to him or any other peeps populating the insular world of entertainment.

I find it disturbing that so many people actually make decisions based on information from a late night talking head.

At least The Blaze finishes with a bit of wisdom for all of us:
Kimmel persuaded many Americans against the Graham-Cassidy bill with his passionate attacks from atop his soapbox on his late night show. It would have been more honest of him to admit that he got talking points from a top Democrat instead of pretending he was studiously and objectively poring over the legislation.
If you want to know about pending legislation, the best way is to go and studiously and objectively read the bill.

Jim Hoft, over at Gateway Pundit, does a pretty good job of explaining the lie that is Obamacare.

Screaming harridan objects to a veteran's service dog in a restaurant...

while her hapless emasculated husband stands there helplessly like a true beta male.

Again I ask - what the hell is wrong with people?

And in this case, what the hell is wrong with her husband to allow such behavior from his wife?  Pajama boy would be proud.

My biggest problem with service dogs is not being able to run up and pet them.

From The Blaze:
A U.S. military veteran brought his service dog into a Delaware City, Del., restaurant last week, and Ciara Miller was one patron who wasn’t having it. She was caught on camera screaming and swearing at the veteran and the restaurant establishment for allowing the service dog to be inside the eatery.
The dog was wearing an official service jacket which read, “PTSD Service Dog,” and bore service animal emblems of the U.S. military.“I’m leaving because the food is nasty and there’s a dog!” Miller screamed while being filmed.
An restaurant employee can be heard in the video telling the woman that the man she was disrespecting is a veteran who “fought for our country.”
“Congratulations!” Miller screams. “My husband’s dad did, too. What’s your point? My husband’s dad fought for the f***ing country! So what? It’s still nasty to me! I don’t care!”
Nasty language alert:

The Restaurants Response posted on Facebook:
We would like to express at this time how sorry we are over the embarrassing turn of events that occurred earlier this week in our restaurant, here in Delaware City.
It is unfortunate that some of the public are not familiar with federal regulations regarding service animals, which, in fact, do permit service animals into establishments such as grocery stores, public buildings and restaurants, giving aid and comfort to their masters in their time of need.
That being said, we would like to take what may have been perceived as a negative incident and turn this into a positive opportunity, by educating and enlightening the public about the role of service animals and how they help and serve many returning veterans who have suffered serious wounds and injuries, as well as those veterans suffering from PTSD.
So, at this time, we would like to announce that we will be sponsoring a fundraising effort for veterans and service animals thru the Montana Wounded Warriors. We would like to enlist your help as a sponsor, volunteer, or as a donor and help us enlighten and educate the public as well as to help those veterans in need.
Details need to be finalized at this time, but as they come together, we will make additional announcements to keep you apprised of our progress.

Tucker Carlson interviews Rob Reiner...

he's still a meat head.

I was a fan of All in the Family and watched it all the time.  What I remember most (it was 45 years ago after all) is for the most part agreeing with Archie Bunker who Wikipedia characterizes as a "white working class bigot and an outspoken, narrow-minded white man, seemingly prejudiced against everyone who is not like him or his idea of how people should be."

Rob Reiner played Archie's son-in-law, Michael Stivic, who is married to Archie's daughter Gloria.

This is what Wiki has to say about his role (emphasis mine)
Rob Reiner as Michael Stivic: Gloria's Polish-American hippie husband is part of the counterculture of the 1960s. While good-hearted and well-meaning, he constantly spars with Archie, and is equally stubborn, although his moral views are generally presented as being more ethical and his logic somewhat sounder. He is the most-educated person in the household, a fact which gives him a self-assured arrogance, and despite his intellectual belief in progressive social values, he tends to expect Gloria to defer to him as her husband.
Notice the difference? Michael Stivic, the loser who has to live with his in-laws is smarter, more logical, and more moral than Archie the bigot - who, as Wiki pointed out, also happens to be white. Last I checked, so was Michael Stivic white, but Wiki didn't see the need to point out that fact.

I was still in my twenties when the show first came on the air.  I thought the character Michael Stivic was lazy, annoyingly arrogant, and an unrealistic dope.

Some things never change.

Mueller's Witch Hunt Tries to Snare Paul Manafort...

except it won't work.

Sexy Paul Manafort the Great is calling on the Justice Department to release transcripts of any intercepted communications he may have had with foreigners.
“If true, it is a felony to reveal the existence of a FISA warrant, regardless of the fact that no charges ever emerged. The U.S. Department of Justice’s Inspector General should immediately conduct an investigation into these leaks and to examine the motivations behind a previous Administration’s effort to surveil a political opponent. Mr. Manafort requests that the Department of Justice release any intercepts involving him and any non-Americans so interested parties can come to the same conclusion as the DOJ – there is nothing there.” Manafort spokesman Jason Maloni said in a statement.
These people want me to believe that an Italian business man, who in all probability knew he was being tapped, opened his pie hole and spewed out incriminating word salad on an unsecured phone?  Trust me here - that never happened.  Manafort didn't just fall off the zucchini truck.

The following is an excerpt from an article in the Coeur d'Alene Press by my friend Syd Albright, who writes a weekly history column.  It's important to understand when this crap started.

Published 9/17/2017
Syd Albright

A major fallout of the Vietnam War was ballooning illegal activities by America’s intelligence community — especially the CIA, FBI and NSA. After nationwide anti-war protests, violence and Watergate, whistleblowers, concerned citizens and news media sources began probing, and politicians started their own investigations. Accusations against Intel agencies included illegal assassinations of world leaders, warrant-less surveillance, break-ins, wire taps, mail opening, drug trafficking, harassing anti-war activists, and countless other sins.

In 1975, a Senate investigating committee chaired by Idaho Sen. Frank Church conducted hearings on the alleged abuses. Other investigations also took place.

Church said on NBC’s Meet the Press:

“In the need to develop a capacity to know what potential enemies are doing, the United States government has perfected a technological capability that enables us to monitor the messages that go through the air.

[...]"Now, that is necessary and important to the United States as we look abroad at enemies or potential enemies. We must know, at the same time, that capability at any time could be turned around on the American people, and no American would have any privacy left such is the capability to monitor everything — telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesn’t matter. There would be no place to hide.

"If this government ever became a tyranny, if a dictator ever took charge in this country, the technological capacity that the intelligence community has given the government could enable it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back because the most careful effort to combine together in resistance to the government — no matter how privately it was done — is within the reach of the government to know.

"Such is the capability of this technology.

“I don’t want to see this country ever go across the bridge. I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that this agency and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision so that we never cross over that abyss.
“That is the abyss from which there is no return.”

And now listen to Tucker Carlson question what's going on in 2017:

“The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented. From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venezuela, wherever true socialism or communism has been adopted, it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure.”

"No nation on earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles. What was Virginia Democrat Dan Helmer thinking when he released this campaign ad?...

or in this case - not thinking.

"Singing" about the killing of babies?  Yeah - that'll catapult you into office.

I guess it's a spoof of a scene from the movie Top Gun (1986)  I'll have to take other people's word for that since I didn't see the movie.

Helmer is running against incumbent Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.) for the Virginia’s 10th District House seat.

starting with the Emmys.

From what I've read, not too many people tuned in to watch a bunch of overpaid not very bright people getting together to pat each other on the back and knock Trump - so why should we?

At least in the olden days women would tune in to see beautiful frocks.  Now all we see on full display is either sagging boobs or rock hard cantaloupes that in no way look like normal breasts.

Candace may be speaking about the VMA awards, but it could just as easily be the emmys.

St. Louis Mayhem

I am so tired of the word "peaceful" being applied to people who are blocking roads, marching and screaming in shopping malls, and generally making pests of themselves.  Maybe if they were gathered in the far corner of a park singing Amazing Grace while holding hands we could label their actions as peaceful.

Innocent bystanders being maced?  No, nope.  Anyone who is so imprudent as to inject themselves into a crowd of chanting idiots is not innocent and deserves whatever happens to them.

Candace has a few things to say about BLM too.

Okay - there ya have it, a few things I don't care about.  What don't you care about?

Terror in London, School Shooting in Washington, Riots Predicted for St. Louis, and Ben Shapiro threatened by Antifa at Berkeley - the Bastion of Free Speech...

is it worse now then any time in history?

School Shooting

In case you missed it, a troubled (insane?) 15 year old, who shall remain nameless, went to Freeman High School, located 25 miles from my home, armed with an AR 15 and a pistol and shot a classmate in the midsection and the head thereby rendering him DRT (dead right there.)  He proceeded to shoot randomly and hit three young girls - all of whom are recuperating in the hospital.

Spokane Sheriff, Ozzie Knezovich, held a press conference, where he spoke about how he believes society, the media, and elected officials are partially to blame for school shootings.

In another presser he said that he has never been politically correct and as he gets older he has even fewer filters.  Good for him.

I urge you to listen to his presser available at KREM 2 News. I have yet to crack the code of how to embed videos which have strange code.

St. Louis

So this cop, Jason Stockley, who shot a black suspect in 2011 in a possible drug arrest, was acquitted today by a judge in St. Louis of first degree murder .  Egged on by over-the-top media coverage and people who claim to be ministers of God, the protests are already starting.

Since it's only Friday afternoon there is a good chance (I'd bet on it) by the time the weekend is over hundreds of pairs of innocent sneakers will be released from their unjust imprisonment, and a few torched buildings may be thrown in as a diversion

 Ben Shapiro

I'm not a fan of Ben Shapiro, although I will admit he has a very quick mind and an even quicker mouth. He proved both when he spoke at Berkeley yesterday with his snappy and logical answer to a question about abortion.

Watching this not very bright self identified lefty have his "argument" for the morality of killing a first trimester fetus destroyed in well under two minutes is gold level fun.  Bravo, Ben!

London

Another terror attack in London.  Cue the "thoughts and prayers", gather the candles, and pile up the flowers.

Meantime, Theresa May is outraged when Trump told the truth:

Ms May is claiming Trump is damaging the hunt for the perps of this latest attack by his claiming Scotland Yard had prior knowledge of these people.  Really, Ms May?  It appears that after viewing the CCTV footage the police knew exactly who did this.  The only way they could know that is by knowing about these people in advance.  Capisce?

The muslim mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says the city "will never be intimidated or defeated by terrorism."

That's easy for you to say when you were not burned, stabbed, shot, or run down by a truck.  Dope.  It's you and your cohorts who are responsible for this going on.
And for all my local friends who are fighting to keep muslims out of Sandpoint, Idaho and my home town of Post Falls - keep fighting!

The Answer to: Is It Worse Now Than Any Time in History?

Not really.

Comparing the Ferguson riots to the Watts riots makes the people of Ferguson look like real pikers when it comes to causing mayhem.

How about the riots at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago? Not to be forgotten are the Students for a Democratic Society back in the 60's. Need I go back as far as the French Revolution or the Fall of Rome?  I didn't think so.

When you think about it nothing much has changed since Adam decided to partake of the forbidden fruit and was booted out of paradise.  The devil remains hard at work trying to convince people that they can be as Gods.  Some people buy into the forbidden fruit of arrogance, ignorance, and pride and succumb to the the evil promise of power.

What has changed is the the speed with which we receive news.  Not just any news, but the news the media decides to ram down our throats. Sheriff Knezovich made that point during his presser.

So take a deep breath, continue the good fight, and rest assured that a force much larger than us is in charge.
