Twin Cities Marathon: Black Lives Matter "Protest"...

turned out to be the bomb I thought it would be.

Check out the picture from the "die-in" held near the finish line of the Twin Cities Marathon, a 26.2 mile event that originated in 1982.

Let's have a contest.  Please find all the black people in the picture (not counting police.) Winner gets a hearty slap on the back, and a high five.

As most of you know, I grew up in uber-liberal St. Paul, but successfully escaped to Houston, TX when I was 17 years old, and now reside in beautiful North Idaho.  Because of that, I have a bit of interest in the goings on up there. I also subscribe to knowing thine enemies, and the Twin Cities has more than it's fair share.  No offense to the few rational people who live there - I feel your pain.

When the protest was first announced, I starting doing my one-woman social anthropology research on this event.  After reading many comments on various St. Paul/Minneapolis running sites, newspapers, and such, I can say with certainty that the overwhelming consensus of the citizens of the Twin Cities is that being called a "racist" is the very worst thing that could befall an individual.

The organizer of this protest, Rashad Turner, a Louis Farrakhan wannabe, has been denounced by the people who consider themselves the "real" Black Lives Matter group.

So far, Turner and his followers have disrupted the Mall of America, the State Fair, and compromised the light rail system with their antics.

Please note how CBS Minnesota reports on the marathon:

Emphasis mine:
Now comes a blockade of the Twin Cities Marathon. Turner wants to create a barrier of protesters to box runners off from the finish line. Black Lives Matter could run the route en masse, earning a ton of respect by connecting with the crowd.
Instead, we now have bigots sending death threats to Black Lives supporters, matched by supporters who will show up just to piss off the bigots. Meanwhile, the St. Paul police promise to arrest anyone threatening the safety of the runners. source
Note well, that if you don't support the disrupting of a huge event, where many of the participants have traveled from far away (can you say many elite black runners?) - you are a bigot.

In all the time I spent following this, I never once saw a death threat.  Typically the comments from the wussified libtards were, "I don't want anyone to think I'm a racist, buuuuuut disrupting the runners is not a good idea."  Or, "While I support the Black Lives Matter agenda I don't think this is the right way to do it."

So there you have it.  If you're a delusional white libtard, and want to shore up your "I'm not a racist" creds, just show up at a heavily policed event, lie about in the street, and act all concerned.  When you've finished, head back to your lily white enclaves, sip a soy latte, and pat yourself on the back for being better than the bigots.

I have a great idea for them furthering their creds.  How about showing up at midnight Friday night on the east side of St. Paul to council the black gangs.  Be sure and take your lily white kids with you to get them started young on this whole "we're all equal" meme.  You could also arrange a field trip to Chicago, home of some of some of the strictest gun laws, where just last weekend 50 people were shot.
Four people were killed and 52 wounded during shootings across Chicago over the weekend. After multiple weekends in a row of increased violence in the city, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is urging a fresh and more proactive approach to gun control. The latest incidents, including the murder of a pregnant mother, come on the heels of two weekends in a row with more than 50 shootings in Chicago:
At least 2,300 people have been shot in Chicago this year alone, according to the Chicago Tribune. According to their analysis, that's roughly 400 more incidents than during the same period in 2014. Homicides are currently up 21 percent in 2015, with the past two weekends pointing to a noticeable increase in gun-related violence. source
No mention of who's doing the shooting. Typical.

For what it's worth, only about 65 people showed up to "protest", and Turner agreed to not block the runners.
