Coeur d' Alene police officer in critical condition after being shot...

too close to home for me.

Officer Greg Moore
The Walmart where the shooter was captured is just spitting distance from my home.

He is in surgery right now. Please say a prayer for his recovery.  Thank you.

This is an early report and not correct as to the locations.

From KHQ:

POST FALLS, Idaho - Coeur d'Alene Police Sergeant Greg Moore is in critical condition after being shot in the line of duty. The shooting occurred at approximately 1:35 Tuesday morning in the 2800 block of Wilbur Ave near Cabela's at State Line. (He was actually shot in Coeur d' Alene.  Renfro stole the officers patrol car, and was caught in Post Falls at the Walmart at West Pointe Parkway, not the one close to my home.  The Pointe Park Walmart is about 5 miles down the road.) Sergeant Moore who is a 16-year veteran with the department has been transported to Kootenai Heath and is currently fighting for his life.

The suspect, identified as Jonathan Renfro, fled the scene after the shooting but was tracked by a Coeur d'Alene Police Department K9 unit and found near Walmart hiding underneath a semi truck. Renfro was arrested shortly after 4:00am.

Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White has asked Idaho State Police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into this shooting.

Members of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department are working in partnership with surrounding agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sergeant Moore and his family as he fights for his life.

From KXLY:

Police say after the shooting, Renfro stole the officer's patrol car then sped down I-90 at 125 miles an hour through Post Falls. Police say Renfro then ditched the patrol car and was found two hours later by Post Falls police officers hiding under a semi trailer west of the Post Falls Walmart.

Renfro has a criminal history, including:

2009: misdemeanor theft/guilty
2008: grand theft/guilty (sentence unclear)
2008: assault or battery/guilty
2004: burglary/charge dismissed
2005: grand theft, probation violation
(118 days in jail)
2005; trespassing, malicious injury to property
