Memorial Service in Tucson has a name and a logo? Concession stands will be open... /w Update

Is this a joke?

I'm not so sure the people Jared Loughner killed are exactly thriving right now.

  • Opening music
  • Native American blessing
  • Welcome by UA President Robert N. Shelton
  • Playing of the National Anthem
  • Remarks by UA President Shelton
  • Remarks by UA Student
  • Remarks by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer
  • Remarks by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano
  • Remarks by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder
  • Remarks by President Barack Obama
  • Moment of silence
From the University of Arizona newspaper:  concessions will be open  for the one hour event

Well that's a relief

Update:

Pundette has informed us there will be T-shirts, too.  Awful!

Also not to be missed is Pundette's post on Judge John Roll.  Excellent!

The radio news is announcing that Tucson is looking forward to this as a "healing experience."

Funny, I'm starting to feel sick.

Healing experience?? How nicely New Age of them. Gag!

Oh my gosh, that is all just SO tasteless and inappropriate! Sickening, really.

They're passing out t-shirts, too. Unreal.

The only people I've ever met who know how to really mourn are the Irish and the Ukrainians.

How very inappropriate!

OMG, this is a new low, even for that crew!
I certainly won't be watching, I don't have cable. I refuse to sit at the computer and watch this sacrilege. I'm sure the news will be covering it ad neaseum, and I can guarantee you if oblahblah doesn't politicize this, he has his 2 henchmen right before him around to do his dirty work!
Ick, I think I"ve lost my appetite, Adrienne.
Why don't they set up a democRATic voter registration booth at the door too!
If one of my relatives were being memorialized during this, I'd protest.

This makes me want to vomit. Seriously.

And the lib followers of obama and his henchmen will think that the creeps are sincere.

This is more a sign of the time than the people involved. If Regan was our President, it would be the same.

Um, no it wouldn't, Charlene. You weren't alive (I'm betting) when Reagan was president, and this is DEFINITELY a commentary on the people involved. How very thick of you to think otherwise...

They served beer at this thing! If you go to MOTUS today & see her latest post, there are pictures of Barry looking completely sloshed, and did you notice that his voice was TOTALLY different than usual last night? I think he had a few before hitting the stage!

I watched and listened. It seemed like more of a high school pep rally rather than a memorial to those who died.
