We Are Not a Democracy

Bob Belvedere, over at The Camp of the Saints, reminds us that we are not a democracy, but instead a constitutional republic.  Like him, I am tired of people flinging about the word democracy.

I say we start carrying around Nerf bats and whack people upside the head when they use the word 'democracy'!

We were given a Republic... but I don't think we kept it. Sorry, it's mob rule now, and we have a tyrant ruling us.
