The Real O'Neals, an anti-Catholic sitcom, is neither funny nor does it display the tiniest bit of truth. There is nothing "real" about this silly show. A statue of the Virgin Mary, mother of God, on the back of a toilet? Hilarious. Not.
From ABC:
And what are these truths of this "typical" Irish-Catholic family?A contemporary take on a seemingly perfect Catholic family, whose lives take an unexpected turn when surprising truths are revealed. Instead of ruining their family, the honesty triggers a new, messier chapter where everyone stops pretending to be perfect and actually starts being real.
- A closeted gay son
- A kleptomaniac sister
- The older son a jock with anorexia
- Parents who are going through a secret divorce
What I will state is that nothing about this show makes me want to kill people.
Hey ABC, you hypocritical pack of hyenas, how about a show making fun of Muslims?
Allow me to make one thing very, very clear. I'm not lambasting this show because I'm Catholic. I would be just as appalled at a show demeaning Evangelicals or Mormons. What I am lambasting is the fact that our culture is so degraded that anyone would find any of this funny.
